Adel...you are hysterical! What a great start for a new thread and thanks for starting it! LOL!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

I was going to say the same thing!! Adel, you bird and the comments are perfect!!

North Augusta, ON

Cute!!

So much pressure to get daily bird pics. LOL I keep following the Robins around then DH says "haven't you got enough Robin pics yet?"...he just doesn't understand!
Due to a dead battery I can't shut my car off, DH boosts me with the lawn tractor when I go to town...last week while I was getting the Swan pics. I was so involved with them I almost ran myself out of gas having left the car idling on the side of the road while I went traipsing off around the pond for a good shot!!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

3Gardener, at least we can say we're avid birders! Tehehehehe. Adel, great opening and thank you for the new thread.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

The gold finch is a stunner, but the wood peckers are sooooo cute. The redwinged blackbird is nice as well.

Look at this find, I was so thrilled to find this bird this evening on a skiing trip few miles from where we're. Yippies!!!! A common loon. Which is not very commonly found here.

Wow, we're on to a new thread already. What a cute and clever start Adel ... Thanks! Great pictures on the last thread everyone; and we're off to a great start on this one too.

I have so many house finches that I tend to take them for granted. This male was particularly colorful; so I decided to take a picture of him.

Next, here's a pyrrhuloxia ... one of my favorite birds. I have a few of them that come around regularly; but they are very shy birds.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this ladder-backed woodpecker today. I've only had one other in my yard before this one.

My yard has turned into a maternity ward lately. This afternoon, I saw my first Gambel's Quail chicks of the season. There were 6 smaller ones and 2 slightly larger ones; and all of them were just adorable.

Here's one of the larger chicks.

And this afternoon, I had another pleasant surprise. The female Rose-breasted Grosbeak was in my yard.

Burn, is that a 'castle' for bird housing? The leaf, are those ornamental mulberries? The female G.B. appears currious. :-)

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Ma-Mcgee, great pictures, a good variety in your yard.
Thanks Lily.

Lily that a food bank for the birds, it up in a birch tree. The female was a bit on her guard, because it was a strange place for her, it's her first time visiting., Hope she comes back with her mate..:0)

This Song Sparrow was following me around the yard today. It was trying to communicate with me. will have to learn a new language.
