Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today? #107 visit with friends!

Glenview, IL

They can get into some real mischief those two...but in the end they are real good friends.

Jacob, is going to be a Freshman in HS. His goal is to play football and liftweights, which he is already doing, and loves it!
His coach is highly impressed at how much he can already lift...LOL, I didn't tell him he has been tossing his sisters around like a sack potatoes since he was 10!...But really, he said Jakes got real good form, so he is off to a good start.
And i noticed already he has trimmed up quite a bit since lifting.

Here we are as a family.

Grandma and Aunti came over for pictures, but instead they raided my fridge!
Decided wasn't going to get over it, whatever, I got my pictures...Plus the kids got to keep the cap and gown!
That is just too wild, lol...what the heck are going to do with it??

But of course Jacob got silly...
The Nutty Professor!

You have a very beautiful family! For some reason I thought Jake was graduating HS. As I said, I have brain farts quite often...and loose everything.

This is my favorite picture from "Prom" in May when she went with the jerk face the first time....but this is with her "baby" brother. He is upset he has to work today and wont be here...but she notified him she would be down to see him.

What an exciting time for all of you, Mary/Debbie/Judy...all growing children..just loved the photo's...can't believe how Jacob has matured in the year since I visited with you Judy..he seems soooo grown up but still mischievious...lol

You've all got something to be proud of and thanks for sharing the photo's with us...after hearing about the children through the years it's almost as though we're celebrating as aunties...

Debbie, doing things for beautification does bring calmness..look forward to seeing the birdhouse shelf..wish the photo's from my other computeer had been transferred..I've a quick birdhouse mirror/frame that can be done so easily and it's just adorable..could give you general info on it though if you were interested....

Already been to town, bought a piece of wood and they .cut (2) to fit the back of the bench..bought more red paint to give it a few coats, then you know how my mind is always working I'm thinking I don't want to spend time painting a design on it at this time right now so I'll design something to paint later BUT went and found some wallpaper, just basecoated the backing, another couple of acrylic coats, then I'll add the wallpaper, give about 10 or 12 coats of varathane and see how long it will last..not sure there is any podgy left since Stacey and I did the sleighs but I'll have a look...

Stopped at Atlas Block, young woman greeted me with 'hello rhubbarb leave lady' so funny..the last few trips I've been she's not been on duty, can't believe she remembered me..that tells you, I make toooo many trips to Atlas Block...

Bought a bag of cement and 4 more cement pads, wouldn't you know I dropped on and there was a rock and broke a corner off of it, now I'll have to go get another..checkerboard grass/cement look will look pretty when done..but I keep adding as per a walkway..must stop at some point or I'll have a walkway from Oz....

Think now that I've cut more off the linoleum and I've sealed the surface I'm ready to take on that project as well...

OMG you say, much to much to accomplish..not really, thing is you have to wait for all the projects I've undertaken to dry, so I move from one to the other..thank goodness June hasn't dropped in with the pillow materials...lol

LindaKay, stopped in the Post Office on my way home and guess what, I've your package of all of the prettiest materials..I'm charging my camera but I'll take photo and post on both threads...now it's time for me to go shopping...had I gone to Cookstown they had a beautiful shop there...I'll try and go on a Saturday and see what they have..will do it shortly..know you are dying to start a project...

While at the post office, Joleen gave me the plastic jar that people have been putting change in for Kyle fund-raiser...must call him to pick it up...

Well, better not sit, once I sit I'm done for..only 10 and I'm starving..maybe a lettuce, tomato, cheese and ham sandwich will give me energy..talk on next break..

Sure do love seeing those photo's...

Know you've been crying Judy...you must get that photo framed...he's going to be some man..girls will be chasing him for sure..ooops not something you wanted to hear right?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Betty, so glad to hear you finally got the fabric! Hope you liked them, and can use them on something?

It's a long winter LindaKay, going to make a pretty lap quilt for the chair in my bedroom...

Alex and June just left, brought me my sunbrella material and cushion forms..just what I needed today for another project...

Just came in for sanding paper...lightly sand the bench..Alex helped me carry it from the back shaded area...the paint will dry in minutes where I have it..at least I'm hoping...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Came in to change, gardens looked as though they needed watering, clamp on hose not quite tight enough..I've more water on me than the gardens have...plus had to go next door and ask about getting my hose back, think it was Monday or Tuesday when he said he had a flood, water main broken or something and they've had it and my water on ever since..luckily he was home as it was brought into his house by back window..so now my plants are happy...lol

Moving like the energizer bunny...digging holes for the cement stones

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

June sat the material and the pillow forms on the back chairs..said I sat long enough this a.m. lordy/lordy sat for about 2 secs just to eat a sandwhich..hmmmm and she says tooooo long..lol

You can't see the pretty colors from where I took the photo..nice yellow/red/green stripes...

Ready to start painting the bench red but Sailor wants me to play ball...

Basecoated the insert light blue, now I'll dabble some dark blue and clouds, let dry and start to decorate...

How is my day going...fantastic...just enjoying being creative, bouncing from one project to the other guessing as to what I'll have accomplished by nightfall...care to guess?

And how is your day going???

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

So wonderful hear all the stories and see everyone's kids.....such memories you'll have...and they grow up soooo fast.

Oh Betty.....send me some of your energy! Starting out with rain this morning, but we need it. It is supposed to clear up later today...if so Sage and I may try and make some Frog stepping stones if we have time. Also want to make a final decision on the location to make a pad for the birdbath so Larry will be able to mow around it without getting in a tizzie....

Sage has been drawing pictures and decorating a picture frame to take to the hospital for Bill's mother. MIL is doing very well....she may get to come home on Tuesday....she and her dogs will both be quite happy about that. By the time we get to the hospital, and get Bill picked up for lunch and back again it won't leave us much time....but there is always tomorrow. In the meantime we will get finished up with some inside stuff while we wait for it to improve outside.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm in and out, out and in...
Glad MIL is doing better...frog stepping stones??? do you have a mold or improvise? best you get moving on the birdbath location, the way we are going summer will soon be over..lol..

We've reverse days Trisha, sunny here, rain tomorrow while you have rain today and sunny tomorrow...

Well, found the podgy, just gave a coat to the insert, put the design on, put another coat..from time to time I'll come in and do so again...

Off to give the bench another coat of red..wow is it drying quickly

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

The stones are from a mold.....a kit we picked up at Michaels.....

The birdbath is in the flowerbed for now....just not the permanent location I want for it......

W do seem to swap weather don't we.....the same with my brother in Alaska...if we have sun he has rain.....

Can't wait to see your finished bench!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Where abouts in Alaska Trisha is your brother? Have you gone for a visit?

Playing a 'waiting' game now..don't want to come in and sew yet because that will be the end of my day..another sandwhich is in order, the other tasted so yummy...watching paint dry is like watching the kettle heat up...

Have a birdbath at the very back..ran out of plugs for water unit...could go find another location like you or just plant it..is yours filled with trailing plants?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trisha, put the insert in the back to dry..sun shinning on it should do the trick..I'll bring the insert back in tonight and give it a few coats...maybe doing the 2nd insert will give me something to do at work...

This area is in the DG Friendship garden area...if you look to the right in the very back you'll see my birdbath (?)

My brother lives in Juneau.....I would love to go for a visit, but the budget just doesn't stretch that far.

The bath has a planter base.....I guess I will break down and plant it soon.....kept waiting until I found just the right place for it.....guess I will do the planting and let Bill and Shawn move it for me when I get the area for it all prepped.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Friends of mine drove to Alaska the year they retired...went away for 3 months and so enjoyed it..said the roads were a little difficult but the salmon they got..brought everything in their rv and canned it as they caught it..talk about tasty..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, Darren my neighbor just came over to unhook his hose from my tap..he didn't look the greatest, asked if he was sick, no, just got a call from a friends saying she had just found her son 34 dead..he has never been ill so guess they will check things out..she hadn't heard from him in 3 days, went over and found him on the kitchen floor..omg, that poor woman..even when the days are filled with sunshine there are many who have a heavy heart...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

That is sooo sad....we are not supposed to outlive our children.... will include Darren and his friend in my prayers.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

They are in my prayers too Betty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

thanks girls, will tell him to relay that prayers are being said...Family name LeBlanc..she thought it was odd that he didn't check on weekend schedule at Home Depot..Darren my neighbor is manager in Orillia..this is the first weekend Darren's been off in months, just noticed they were leaving to go see Mrs. Leblanc...

Shortly will call outside work 'it' for the day...tired out and so I should be...haven't been overdoing though..had 9 cement stepping stones to put into the ground..been doing one every hour ..only 4 more to go for this week's walkway..

Anyway, BenHur is on..you know I was about 7 when the Holy Cross sisters at the school took us to the theatre to see it..not sure but think we went for 4 weeks..big treat..broke down and took out my sewing machine...as I sew I've been watching it and enjoying every bit as much..now that's many a year ago, it's like watching for the first time..could hardly remember a thing..

Pillows done..
