June Flowers

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Well, Lynn, I might could have all of them if I moved all the furniture out of the house and I slept on a cot in my office with the existing 4 gro light stands and my desk with computer (LOL). Then the rest of the house could be wall to wall gro light stands and people in town could really talk about the old eccentric lady who lives out there on the road by the school...............

Cute Sinns. Nichole!! I noticed you don't grow yours in terrariums either.Mine seem to be fine out in the open.
LOL,Gail...Good luck with your quest!! Thousands would be Waaaay to many for me!!

Lynn - Tinkerbell I do have in a glass jar, but she has now outgrown it. I will need to find a bigger jar! I just don't know how tall she will get, so will have to research that first. The pusilla I did have in a small jar as well (in a solo cup setting inside the jar). It did ok, but seemed to perk up when I took it out one day. So, I went on ebay and got a tiny self-watering pot from someone here in town (saved on shipping!). It fell apart when I was transplanting, but it is perking up fast. From what I understand, it reseeds real easy, so should fill in the pot fairly quickly.

I have about a dozen.I need to research sizes on mine also.So far none are domed.I am just watching them to see if they need it.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I thought you meant streps , Lynn, and you all are talking about sinningias................I will never let streps take over my house.............just kidding............

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Are you sure Gail....LOL ^_^? You did say you have plant stands in every room....just kidding around..

Lynn

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

But I have only one plant in each room except for the office which has 4. That means I have enough room for beds, etc................in the guest bedrooms, etc...........but I could easily be talked into getting rid of all furniture (LOL)

Williston, ND

how easy?lol
all you really need is a bed and computer stands and a potting table, then you can grow 1000s of streps

and send that guy in north dakota boxes and boxes

LOL

JIM

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I know you, Jim.........you love them as much as I do!!! I haven't forgotten you but your weather stays cooler longer so you come at the end of the line (LOL)

I really could be happy with a single mattress on the floor and a house full of streps!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

LOL...I hear you!!

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Ok, gail said she has one plant per room . . . she has one plant stand per room! (at least she did when I was there)

Syrumani, Tinkerbell is so cute! I think when the day comes that I decide to try a few gessies, it will be the mini ones that I will want. Every one that I have seen posted on here by you all has just been so darn cute!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

They ARE cute!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

i forgot you were here, Nichole!!! Come back again!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

jmp24,
I also just love the minis, but be aware they do take slightly (just slightly) a little more care and attention than standards. For example, some mini AVs sucker more and mini Sinns. can do dormant if they are allowed to dry too severely. In the end they are worth it......it is so much fun to see a tiny little plant produce such beautiful blooms. ^_^

I am the worst at growing the minis........they just sucker away for me. They are so pretty though.

Want to share something "I promise" is the truth. Last time I had some good leaves left after taking the baby streps off so I used them again. (trying to keep some roots on each leaf). These leaves have been in here LESS than two weeks and look at the one in the middle on the front row..........babies already.

My heart skips a beat when I see the mother leaf making babies on any plant. Look at these av leaves. It almost seems eery to me that it is such a natural thing for mothers to have babies.........

Gail, it's the meaning of life!

Your plants look very healthy, very happy, no wonder they want to reproduce themselves. It's been about 3 weeks since I put down my first sets of leaves, I checked today, nothing yet, but I am hopeful it will be soon!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

This is just a fluke, jmp! It normally takes a lot longer unless you have some mother leaves left with good roots.............

My african violet leaves took at least 6-8 weeks to get this far and they aren't nearly ready to be separated........

Propagating is my favorite thing to do in life (besides love my kids and grand kids). (God and country somewhere in the list ^_^)

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

How can you forget the "incident" so easily?!? ^_^

We're actually talking about going to Corpus for a weekend before school starts. I could always leave DH & the kids at the hotel watching a movie . . . ^_^

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Sounds good to me, Nichole!!!!

If you knew what actually goes in my life, I am capable of forgetting that you fell on my hard surface caliche driveway and took all the skin off both knees and the palms of your hands (LOL) (carrying two permanest trays at the time) ^_^
