Snowkist Strawberry Fizz baby.

Geeze--I was just teasing! It was a play on his numerous attempts to have everyone send their plants to him for ID. It was a joke on his running joke.I would never intentionally insult anyone here. Did you all not see the winking smiley?
Morning! Great pictures everyone.
Aww Susan,my baby I grew from seed-your plant is a beauty! Great growing girlfriend ^_^
Hi Connie;

Phoebe,
It never even occurred to me that you weren't joking ^_^.It's just like the cookie thing,a running joke.
Lynn
For you phoebesviolets (Jaco's Gem is neat...most unusual, isn't it?) and ibrabec...
A man is recovering from surgery when the Surgical Nurse appears and asks
him how he is feeling.
'I'm O. K. but I didn't like the four letter-words the doctor used in surgery,' he answered.
'What did he say,' asked the nurse.
'Oops!'
Wow--that E. is especially gorgeous!
LOL! Oops is definately a word you don't want to hear from an MD!
GL,
That Episcia is outstanding!!
LOL It looks like you and Jan are not going to let me get over the four letter word thing!! (and Jan,even I prefer "the S word" to oops when I'm seeing an MD ^_^).
Lynn
Phoebe ,
I knew you were teasing about Jim , it just reminded me of how nice he was to me being someone he didn't know , it was such a nice welcome being new here but being treated so kindly , I know you all hold him in high regard so please don't feel that I was thinking anything bad about what you said :) Bonnie , thank you for the info about sinningias , i have pondered getting a couple on ebay but not knowing anything about them I didn't buy any , there are a couple there now that I like but I think I will wait till later , they have a variegated one that I would like as I love to collect variegated plants and one that looks a bit like Jaco's Gem , like your's , they sell them as a tuber it says not a plant , interesting . Lynn Thank you for liking my plant pics and I hope my info on AV's in bags was helpful to anyone wanting to root more but not having a lot of space for it , it really works well for me :) Hope you all have a lovely day , it is gorgeous here but would so love 4 or 5" of rain , things are so dry it is getting scary :(
Connie Lynn
I see the state of Minnesota is in drought. It is scary when it lasts so long. I do hope it will end very soon.
Your hanging baggies for rooting leaves is a clever idea. I know you use 's' hooks but I was amused thinking about a taut cord like a clothesline and using clothespins to hang the bags on the line. Many interesting ways it could be done. It would save on shelf space.
Thank all of you for such beautiful pictures of some really 'special' plants.!!! I have never heard of Serendipity.................what a winner as are all the rest................
LOLOL,GL !!
We are getting pounded by rain and more rain and we are under tornado warnings.... My septic is going to float away soon... Then the house...LOLOL My garden looks like a roped off mud ring...LOL
Oh Jim is such a sweet man and you should see him when he is sweet also... Sorry Jim I just had to say it once... He sent me a box this week and he was my Fairy God Father.. ;-) Also got a wonderful box from Lynn... She sent me my Victorian lace I have been wanting and wanting Thank you Lynn and Thank you Jim....
Hugs,
Susan
PS. Jan, another bloom is now open on your plant and looking good... Will take pictures tomorrrow...

Susan,Can't wait to see your picture. That plant is a beautiful color!
Goldleaf, your episcia is very pretty.Love the colors.
Not much blooming at my house. But I do have a couple sinningia in bloom.Silohoutte Belanger(sp) and HYC's lady lady
Those are great looking, Jan!!
I don't know how you all remember everyone's post so we can recognize everything people contribute!
Good morning all ^_^.
Great Sinns Jan!!
Phoebe,pretty one.Whats her name?
Lynn
i just got back from montana
had a job there
JIM
Sorry--forgot to add the name--Strep Little Gem...and still working on retrieving my best camera settings
Is it a mini Jan?
"Little Gem" truly is a little gem...
Jannich, you do so well with the sweet looking mini sinningias.
Nothing much in bloom here as I have been dividing and repotting everything and remove all flowers and buds. For something different to try, I put down some strep leaves midrib removed in long fibre sphagnum contained in a corsage box.
ohhh little gem,let me know what that gets grown out,may have to talk you out of a leaf if you dont mind
JIM
Just gave away several--That is what I kept for myself--but it is very prolific--next one is for you Jim ^_^
You know I am a copycat, GL!! I am going to try some mid vein in sp. moss myself this weekend. Looks like fun!
Also, I finally have a baby of Something Special by Ford from a leaf you sent earlier this year...........I have always loved that strep.
That Little Gem is such a lovely color.........very intense.
"Something Special" really is a special looking Strep. GL!!
Okay,so far my Strep. rooting experience as a newbie with them,is the ones I cut the midvein out and put in half perlite, half vermiculite, always domed, have rooted and most have babies, although the mom leaves look pretty rotted. This has taken close to 3 months. Those I put down in individual little cups,no matter which way I cut them, under a dome with the vents left partly open and planted in part perlite, part soiless mix, have nearly all got babies and in many cases the mama is not rotted. These took 6 weeks to make babies.
I am really interested in everyone elses methods.
Lynn
Va_Wild_Rose, your photos are always so vibrant and clear. The strep flowers are beautiful. I really like the fantasies.
Ibrabec, I normally always root the strep leaves in what I call my peat based wick mix. It has lots of perlite. I tried the long fibre spahagnum as something new to see how it would be. I also tried something else new on a few streps. I made a batch of potting mix to which I added some coir. On your new thread about mat watering, I wanted to reply but I am going to wait for someone else to answer your question.
It wasn't long ago and you hadn't gotten back into growing yet. Are you glad you did? I am ;0)
Thanks GoldLeaf! The fantasies are definitely my favorites!
Thanks for the pics, WildRose................
