its very cloudy here too,

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Please send any clouds or rain our way, please! We are still in extreme drought..............we got our first 2" of the year a couple of weeks ago but nothing hot sun and high temps since.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

We were in a drought here also but not any more... We are soaking here... As I have said before I am on a high water table to start with now all the rain my back yard is soaked... The creeks have been up to the tops for almost a week now and that has to be around 8 feet tall....Sun comes out here today then goes away... to hot and humid....
I have a question about matting... Hope someone here can help me... I went to Wally world to buy a blanket but out of season so no blanket... So what else can I use other then that.... Thanks for any help...
Hugs,
susan

Hi everybody! I'm loving the pictures! I don't have anything blooming now, so it's great to see all these pics!

Love those Streps, Karen! Especially Spin Art! That one is at the top of my "gotta replace it" list! LOL

Bonnie, Sinn Double the Fun is really great! Who's the hybridizer of that one?

I bought Jaco's Gem last fall, but when it bloomed, it was really Rose Scentsation. I'm hoping the one I purchased at the same time that says Rose Scentsation will turn out to be Jaco's Gem.

Jan, you always grow such beautiful Sinningias! I wish we could have met you when we went to Florida, but with my husband still having problems with his leg, we didn't know when we'd get to leave, or how long it would take to get there because of him having to stop every so often to move around. The way it turned out, we wouldn't have been able to meet you, but we're hoping to go back to FL in the fall, and hopefully he'll be doing well enough then that we can meet you. I really missed getting to see you!

I've missed everybody here! I'm hoping that things are "back to normal" enough now that I will be able to be around all the time now.

Big hugs to everyone - old friends and new!!! ^_^

Wild Rose,
Your pictures are just gorgeous!!
Welcome back RainGazer!!
It's very rainy and humid here too

GL,Thank you.To answer your question, yes I am glad I started again.....BUT...LOL...I jumped in too fast again ^_^.From February to now I have accumulated hundreds of plants, counting all the leaves and babies I have down.I am also growing at least 10 different kinds of Gessies.I think pretty soon I need to narrow my focus to 2 or 3 kinds. That's why I am searching for different watering methods.!!

That's so funny! From dipping your toe in the water to up to your ears in no time. Yes, that's the way it is.

Hey Raingazer...good to see you posting again!

This is strep Candy Apple received in a trade with TurtleChi. I hope you found some matting to your liking. Do you like the mat watering vs. wick watering?

#7 I LOVE! What is it?

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

My guess is Victorian Lace??

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

YUP............she is Victorian Lace...........

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

I am drooling now... Hey Amy nice to see you posting again.... Lynn, I know how you can go from nothing to up to our eyes with plants... I mostly have streps but have some kohlerias, sinns, and a few av's left...LOL
I love your plants Gail...
Sue

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Did you ever find Victorian Lace, Susan? I got it on ebay. The leaves aren't as thick as most of DT's, but I just cut 3 pieces of leaf and am going to try and root them. It maybe too soon and the leaves not mature enough, but I couldn't stand not trying.

I don't have any better streps than you do!!! You are amazing with your new kinds all the time.

It was your generosity that has me growing about 8 plumerias. They are all leafed out and starting to bloom. Remember the variegated one you sent. Oh my gosh, is she a beauty. Will get some pics for you.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Did that one bloom for you Gail? I would love to see pictures of them... Mine don't have many leaves yet but I do have a seed pod on one... that is a first for me.... I have several babies coming up that are new to me so I can't wait until they bloom... I have one that bloomed today called Iced blueburg I think it is... To lazy to get up...LOL Yes some very nice lady on this forum bought me a VL but she is still a baby.... but she will grow... I really don't like soil it is in so tomorrow I am swapping it out for mine... Hope that will help it some...
Hugs,
Sue

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I bet someone got it for you from exotic lady.......she has such a wonderful collection but her babies are small . I only ordered one time from her for that reason. I got mine covered in buds from plant_maniac on ebay just last week. His soil is way too heavy for me so I change it out after about a week and put them in my own mix.

The seed pods used not to interest me and I cut them off and in the trash they went. Now I am finding out that people have come up with some very interesting plants just from seedpods (selfxself I guess) rather than the fancy hybridizing which I can't do.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Gail,
The seed pod is on the Plumerias... I have had seed pods on my streps... That is where this strep came from and it is very fussy and the soil is to I don't know it looks thick or something...
Hugs,
Susan

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Dave Thompsons soil mix is very dense, but it sure works for him!! I still haven't figured out what it is.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Susan, I have already taken all the buds and blooms off all my new plants.......I want to encourage new leaves to grow. I think I still have some in the back room I haven't taken the flowers and the buds off yet . I also trimmed back the leaves so more would be encouraged to grow..........

Will do that tomorrow.

Lynn, we have to figure out what he is growing in (LOL) even though it is too heavy for me........

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

It is also to heavy for me also... I am going to dome them tomorrow... I had some plants of his that I was going to bid on tonight but stopped because I don't like his mix and that is what stopped me.... I have some new ones coming from Helen in Canada...
I am going to go to bed now and will see you all tomorrow....
Hugs,
Susan

Williston, ND

If i get in a plant and i dont like the mix,i just rinse it off and repot it,and bag it if it goes into shock

JIM

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Not one of David's plants even needed to be domed at all after I changed the soil. That is just how strong they were. I, too, would just put it in a bag if one did go into shock..........

David's plants are by far the prettiest and healthiest plants I have ever bought on ebay........without exception.

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Gail... what was #6? Very pretty!
