Awesome! There is so much room between the pot lip and the next "surface"! Definitely will have to try. I also love your collection of frogs and fairies!
Garden Pics: 'Postcards from the Garden.'...#7
That's what I see from where I work on the computer and do my needlework, so I keep it pretty. LOL It's right next to the bird feeders and on the other side is a fountain. Lots to watch.

Sally, Thanks for all the info on the "tipsy pots" . I'll have to try to save that for something that I can put together in the winter. very neat and creative!
RJ... Pretty pics... but I love the Saratoga Sunset!
Sharron... your Koi pond area is looking great. Those fish have it good!
Bea.... all very nice. Does that crazy poppy grow crazy every year? that would definitely be worth the effort to propogate!
red. that is the first time I have seen that poppy all crazy. I am going to try to catch seed from that one. There are more buds on the same plant so I will observe how those bloom this week. It was a sight to see.
Sally I really like your tipsy pot tower. it seems like a good way to do strawberries. Maybe next year!
Red you have been working hard! I want to take the grass out of the parking strip in front of my house but I have been too lazy - you have inspired me to get going on it!
I love that oreander. Probably can't grow it here. I've seen it in Palm Springs.
Hmmm... I think I need to make one of those tipsy pots. I have a spot that it would fit in quite nicely. Thank you for the instructions! :)
And thank you to everyone for all the wonderful photos you're sharing. I'm enjoying looking at all of them very much!
Lovely Irwells! I'm so jealous about the oleander. I've never even seen it grow in the coastal areas here. I've just seen it in California.
Bea... good luck with those seeds. I sure hope that it works out! What fun
Portland... Good luck with that strip! Getting rid of the grass is definitely the hard part. Then the fun begins. Planting and designing from a clean slate. That's what I like best.
Glad that you've joined us Pony!
Where is Union? What zone?
That Dahlia is a beaut Pony.
Pretty as a picture Willow. Lovely colors.
I second everything that Sally just said!
Love the buttermint rhodie.
Irwells, Union is on the south shore of Hood Canal on the Olympic Peninsula. We live directly across from the big mountain range and we are at 600' elev. I don't care what zone they say I'm in, I make sure it goes down to zone 4 before I buy anything after 21 years of trying things.
My husband's mother was from Seattle, and until they sold it a couple of years ago, had a cabin on Jackson Cove, Dabob Bay. I guess the closest town was Quilcene. His cousin lives in Port Orchard, and when we visited last summer, I was surprised to find that they were the same zone as we are? Still some things that aren't interchangeable, though.
Irwells - I think the zones are defined by low temps. We sure don't get hot the summers that you experience due to the marine influence.
I forgot how much I like Oleanders - thanks for posting. they have a nice explosion of blooms. Very cheery. Well, anything is when it's grey skies, like today!!!
It has been fun to see your gardens, so keep it up!
My rose 'Scentimental' looks very white with dark pink. The cooler weather does mess with the colours a bit.
When you're wishing you could have oleanders, remember they're poisonous - makes it less desirable!
Woah- that voodoo lily is awesome! Looks like an alien critter! :D
