The Old fashioned Orange DL were about to bloom when everyone was here... but didn't quite make it in time for them to see.
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞142
Last year, I had some pink Pentas planted in the corner of a bed... the new walk messed that plan up, and had to rethink that bed. Well, decided to not put them there this year... although I sure loved them last year... bloomed all the way to late fall for me. Well, apparently they reseeded themselves, and I have these little babies coming up all over the DL bed... and, I've decided to just let them stay...
Nice pics BJ! I can't wait to get my new camera, it'll be here in 2 to 3 weeks :(
Well, we just got the pathology report from the surgeon. She said the nodule was positive as being from the original melanoma. She also said she thought the negative area (amount of wedge she took out) was sufficient. We see her and the oncologist on the 15th and take things from there. Norm's a bit depressed but I'm sure that won't last long. He is still most positive when talking of the long run. Thank you all so much for being my rock. I love you all. Barb
i still be waiting on me consolation package, heaven.
Afternoon all. Kathy, so sorry to hear about the problems with your daughter. We will be praying for you, and the safety of that little one! Can you call Florida, and file a report on her with child protective services? Please keep usposted!
Just, love the stories, and it sure sounds like we have another writeron out hands. Love the descriptions, and pictures for sure! marion, I can't believe you almost left your pillow, but we know Bj would keep it safe and sound for you! LOL
Jaye, you take care of yourself, and get lots of rest. Your working yourself into a sickness you don't need.
Laura, there are patches you can get over the counter. I saw several at Wal Mart today on the conter, and they are all about $40.00 and up.
Here is a list of what they have. But if you need the insurance to cover it, you will most likely need to see your Dr, for a script?

BJ, love the pictures of your yard, and flowers in bloom, and that tomato looks yummy! Just slice it and put in on some bread with some miracle whip! YUM!!!
Barb, please know we are still praying for you and Norm. If they have caught it early enough, it wil be a lot easier to take care of.
LK
Barb and Norm, keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers. ((((Hugs))))
BJ those are all beautiful I can see why people are trying to take off with them.....any Canna or DL you don't want just send it up this way!!

As I said... I was just kidding.

Thanks Linda Kay.
I didn't take any offense to BJ's post-she said she was kidding-so I know she was just picking as we always do......Kris, BJ was just joking.....
GWEN-don't fun me now girl-if you are really sending that girl to me then don't play with me-LOL
MISSY MINI MELONS-It warms my heart to have you post at all. I miss our early am convo's......
Well, really I only have one Tante-that is Jaye...the others are Aunties:) Like Auntie M, Auntie Gigglesworth and Auntie Biggles & Jiggles:)
Whew... thanks Stacey... I was getting really worried that I messed up big time... I am sorry if ANYONE took that the wrong way.
"Wall flower"?? Too witty BJ!
Barb, I am truly sorry. Not the results we pray for.. but we'll keep on praying for Norm that he gets the best treatment and support. We're here for you both. ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))
How's that tattoo Stacey? I almost got one eons ago.. wanted a lotus done on my leg. When I think of needles, I chicken out.
Beautiful blooms Synda, especially the waterlily. I got waterlily seeds from Malaysia that I need to germinate.
My body's aching.. took 3 Tylenols and still don't help. I think I'll fix myself a triple shot of Oolong.
Jaye-as long as you don't hear the needle gun it isn't bad. Just feels like some meany dragging their nail over a bad sunburn.....plus it is done is short bursts. It just itches is all...
BJ-I would have thought that we would have all gotten to know each other well enough now to know personalities and that the ladies on here would never intentionally publicly post a malicious thought. I was apparently mistaken.
We are not an inherently mean group, and that is why our love is spread so wide and in such flagrant expression to each other. The healing of our hearts, the song in our souls and the words of wisdom that we impart on each other is what makes us remarkable as individuals and as a group. The diversity in age and backgrounds make us a truly unique and dynamic collection of tremendous beings. Like any group there are those of us that hold certain honors, like I deem one above all of us as the heart of our group. I am sure that we each hold a different distinction for certain members, but the point is that we DO hold that distinction. We have used DG as the catalyst for a gathering kindred spirits. Maybe not all of us are kindred to every one of us, but we have found at least one other that we never knew we were missing and now cannot imagine being without. I know I have........
BRAVO Stacey... so well said.
Last Saturday... May 23, 2009... my sistahs were all here to help me celebrate my 1 year anniversary on Dave's Garden. (and you all thought it was for Mem Day, huh?) We gathered, we laughed, we shared, we lingered, we prayed, we ate, we even remembered all those who couldn't come this year with a special ceremony around the camp fire (well, actually it was a burn barrel)...
What did we learn that day?
Well, I learned that each and every one of us are very different... we come from different backgrounds, we each lead different lives, we each have our own life stresses and crosses to bear... but most of all we all love with a feeling that is rare to find in most people these days.
It's that HEART that brings us together here... it's a forgiving, sorrowful, and sweet heart that we are all drawn to... and what we have found in each other.
AND I also learned that I love you all even more since our hearts met in person.
Stacey... I don't have just one "distinctive" sistah here... I have many... Each of them are in my life for very special and separate reasons... BUT, I agree... I can not imagine my life with out them now.
Wow, in all of my haste and being snapped at, at work I missed the whole thing, but anyway very well stated Stacey. Ditto!
So here's what happened this afternoon. I got there around 10am and she was gone, you all know the one. She came in around 11 from a grandchild's graduation. We were getting along fine all day, then around 3:30ish she said something to me, then something to someone else, then something to someone else, then started talking about them all, all at the same time. Someone said, "You know you're having 3 different conversations by yourself all at the same time, right?" She giggled and said yes, she has a bad habit of doing that. Then around 4 someone we all know who works in a different office got married and is using the dash thing. I was more thinking out loud than anything just following up what she was saying, I said, "So, since I got married my name is Christine Ramsey-Whitney if I were to use the dash." She had her back to me sitting in her chair and snapped in an extremely sarcastic tone, "Well, now I am so glad you said that because if you hadn't I would have never known!" Is she loony or is it just me?
You are certainly the wise orator, niece. You are right, we are all 'tremendous beings'.
Because we are all so different, opinions do vary.
We can't deny that feelings get slighted now and then, but I am sure, there were no intended tramplings.. none that I know of since this thread is started.
But this group too is known for being quick to forgive, quick to help and quick to jump into prayers when asked.
Picture us as this beautiful landscape puzzle. All the pieces are important.
You are all important to me and dearly loved.
Sorry Crissy... don't want you to think you're talking to yourself! :D
Heed my advice, make money out of those strange happenings at your workplace. Write a book!
This was my poem for New Years 2009...
I just thought I'd post again mid year... cause I'm learning new songs all the time since I've been part of this group... and I even find myself humming the tunes from time to time.
Now I lay this year to rest,
I tell myself I did my best.
I made some dear and loving friends.
We laughed and cried, like chatty hens.
And now we enter a brand new year,
Of fun and swaps and grins and cheer.
We’ll shed a tear for those who hurt.
We’ll pray for those who need support.
My prayer today, and all year long,
For each to learn a brand new song.
To whisper the words to a sistah in need,
And to hear the tune in every deed.
I pray to take the hurt and pain.
Replace all that with peaceful refrain.
To give us each a sense of success,
And teach us how to accept the mess.
AMEN.
Crissy... Jaye's right... you'd have a best seller by the time you retire.
I must have missed something. What comment did BJ make that would upset Kris?
I worked outside pulling gawd awful burmuda grass out of an area where I want to put up a metal gazebo so that I can plant my Passion Flowers. Got all the weeds pulled, sprayed with Round Up, got out my Mantis tiller. The dang thing would not stay running. Think I need to tune it up. I so wanted to get this done today. Have a memorial service tomarrow to attend. As soon as we get back home I'm going to try the tiller again. In the mean time I'm enjoying a strawberry margarita ^_^.
Barb, praying that things will turn out good in the long run. Ran into an friend I have not seen since hubby's funeral, found out she has cancer in her bones and lymph node. She was my hubby's ex-mother in law. We were also neighbors for 2 years. This lady painted some of the most beautiful pictures. She has alot of her books for sale for $5 a piece they are $15 books. Told me to come and get them but I don't really need them. If there's anyone interested in tole painting I could check out the books for you.
Well ladies, I need to take a shower and get ready to watch the Bachlorette.
TTYL }!{
Cindy... ya know... everyone I know that owns a Mantis has problems with it this year... wonder what's up with that?
Thanks.
I just said that as I have a few distinct people here that make up something that I had been missing without my knowledge. I also have people that I deem in certain places. Like for instance, I think of Jaye as the heart of our group. Always one to help others, quick to console, generous as a queen, whit to match any comedian's and the warmth that can melt even the coldest one of us. A true angel amongst us.........
I almost think of our group as one large living being, each person being one facet that makes up the whole being. But each one a specific piece of that puzzle.....
WOW... There's a lot of PINK going on at your house, Phyllis !!!
Beautiful blooms... but then, there were a lot of beautiful blooms the last time I was there too... but those are new blooms since then.
Good way to describe it Fairy Lips ... One BIG being... that's the product of a very creative mind.
Well, ladies... I'm calling it a night... Don went to bed an hour ago, and I can hear him snoring through all three walls. I think I'll get my shower, then snuggle down with the controller and turn the channel.
I got my Mantis about 4 years ago and I have never tuned it up. So I think this is my fault :(
Going to have to learn to do things myself, beings there is no man around to help. My SIL doesn't know how to work on things like this. My hubby was always showing him how to use power tools, he really misses him. So I guess I will just have to order the fix it kit and get out the book and do it myself. Lord help to get it back together rigth. BJ can you send Don to California for a day or two, lol.
MAN!!! I really hate this time difference, when I'm ready to chit chat ya all are heading to bed:( Fine then, I'll just go take my shower and another margarita and watch tv.
Good Night All, Sweet Dreams
And to think I almost bought a Mantis tiller.
Cindy, thank God for instruction manuals. You can do it sistah!
Kel may be a man, supposedly to be naturally, mechanically inclined... pfffffffff... he still depends on manuals or would just 'google' the problems and if he failed.. off to a pro.
Phyllis, love the roses. One day, I'll be able to brag on a huge rose garden.
Stacey, that is so kind of you to say that. Thank you.
