Marilyn, that’s pretty much me. I started at 20, old enough to know better, and it’s just getting too expensive.

You know Auntie M, when I was following BJ, I WAS NOT the one driving like the little old lady-I'll give you 2 guesses as to who was, but if you need more then one, then shame on you;)LOL I gave her so much crap about it too-LOL

But then she laughed at me for making friends with the guy in the gas station too, and on the way home I made friends with this guy at the cigarette store, so mom was making fun of me, and then I of course made friends with the peeps gramps hangs out with at breakfast-shocked on when I took my shirt sleeve off so he could get a good look (that he requested) and gave him a big hug when we left....

I said when they go to 2.00 a pack i'm quitting,,,when they go to 3,,,I'm quitting,,,now they are 4.00 and I'm not waiting on 5.00,,,I'M QUITTING!!!!!! so everyone around me knows if I'm looking like a freight train coming through, it's not because I'm smoking, it's because I'm moving fast. lol

Oh Tink, wish I had been there for that!! I was ah hum, going the speed limit but did manage to get stopped at stop lights she missed and trucks going forever with turn signals on before I finally figured out they were not turning. Oh well, still looking forward to the "little red hot pepper" make it's appearance.

The little red hot pepper will be in Dallas on Friday... Don will be off work, and it's a good thing... cause if, if fact, we do buy it... I am not taking my maiden voyage in it in Dallas traffic... he can drive it home, with Mike in the passenger seat. I'll get my practice around here locally before I take it anywhere near a big city.

Oh, I do hope you both can quit... I did a backslide too... it's the toughest dragon I've ever had to fight... and I will try again someday soon... just as soon as I find an "aide" that works well for me. The gum and losenges both give me sever heartburn... the pills make me crazy (I mean, really nuttso)... I think I am going to need hypnotism... or acupuncture... or something like that.

Just took Mike to Tiki Hut for supper... and I think Stacey's eye candy was back again. Actually, there was a whole table of eye candy there... and I made Mike switch seats with me... then, I swore him to secrecy, no telling Don I was google eyed.

BJ you smoke! Just how many here do have this problem? We ALL can relate. I tried the patches,,,and they seemed to work but it's so hard to quit when there are other smokers in the house. One son has quit, and the other one swears that when he gets back in town we'll both quit together. I'm holding him to it too. 'course didn't tell him I was starting before he gets back. While he's gone I'll have a week's head start. By that time I should be ready to really clean house! lol

Well, now my story continues...After the Rose Garden, also the place where Phylis trains new bus drivers. We proceeded to her home and all the way, BJ talks on how we are kidnapping her for the night...hmmmm! Soooo, ok then, we had to make a tiny Bribe, hehehe, Millie! and she is tiny.

So, sistah packs her lil yellow bus bag...so wish I had a pict.! and away we drive...OHWAH!!! we make quick stop to Walmart...gathering special items for Celebration... It was cool, One sistah, and you know who you are....put us on a timer...and we all were good too. And away to Brenda's house we go...

What a wonderful afternoon...We saw Stacey's great tatoo...lol you already seen it but hey, its awsom!
plus, I really like the story behind it...It's LK's sons work and Fairy's...together they came up with it...

Thought I'd pop in before heading for bed..tomorrow is a HUGE work day for me, with several reports due at the same time (1st business day of the month). Plus I'm training my "back up" person and I've already warned her that she's actually my replacement (boss doesn't know that yet), cause I've decided I'm moving back to Iowa..not sure yet when it'll happen, but will be before the new DGD arrives in Oct for sure. I don't have anything to keep me here and since both my kids live in Iowa..it'll be nice to be around them and the grandkids before they're all grown up :) DD has already decided that I'm moving in with her and her family..they're even getting a couple of rooms ready for me..I'll have a bedroom and a scrapbooking/tv room. That will be so nice!

I've been so stressed the last few days and finally realized that I was just pushing myself to do too much too soon. (plus dealing with the bank over my stupid paycheck) So I called Peg (Merpeg) and told her that she could have all the cannas, glads and caladiums that I never have gotten planted. She took me out to lunch at Chili's and I had a really great time talking to her. I finally met her DH Keith and he's a nice guy :) Then came home and played with my new digital camera..cleaned the house some, planted all my WSed jugs and now I'm ready for bed.

I feel like a huge rock's been removed from my shoulders..between deciding to move and knowing that those poor plants now have a "mom" who'll take care of them.

Anyway, I'm off to bed.. oh! Welcome Penny :)

BJ, that’s my problem. The gum makes me feel like I’m having an asthma attack. The pills I tried this time seemed to work fine last time, I took them for about two week before I decided I couldn’t kick the habit side right then even if I could kick the addiction, but this time I came seriously close to calling my doctor I was so bad. I’ve tried some of the psych pills that are supposed to help and you don’t even want to see me on them.

I’m willing to try patches if I can get a prescription or whatever, and Acupuncture, etc… would be nice to try, but they don’t give that away, So, I have to try to just do it.

So let’s see…
1. Kick an addiction to one of the most additive substances on earth, without anything to blunt the edges.
2. Relearn half my coping mechanisms (they’ve gotten tied into stepping out to smoke etc…)
3. Deal with all the stress, anger, etc. that you get from trying to quit smoking, on top of all the stress etc… that the coping mechanism of smoking would have dealt with.
4…..

I’m sure your list is quite similar. If I find something that helps I’ll be sure to let you know.

That’s the part that I think a lot of non-smokers don’t see, is that it’s not just stopping x; most smokers have a physical addiction, a mental addiction and the force of habit to contend with. Even with something like the gum, patch, etc… that replaces the drug in your system, the other parts of it can still have as strong of a draw.

Marilyn, I do agree completely on the being hard to quit with other smokers around. I feel bad that I still have to have cigarettes when DH is just on the gum.

OH Jaye I have been setting back rereading the thread............"Flopper Stopper" that is priceless ........ROFLMAO!!!!!!! I always said if my bra breaks all "H" will break loose and someone somewhere will be hurt.And those dang things are soooo uncomfortable,but like I was telling Cody ,if ya go without one and ya stand up, they are lookin south,ya lie down and they don't even like each other and head east and west.And God help ya if ya want to clap your hands,ya look like a dang Walrus at Sea World.

You know if someone was told to just set and read our threads........We have middle aged women,Dying there hair,getting tattoos ,Drinking Bailey's and Tequila,Smoking and try not to,Wanting to go postal on the postal system,Getting Boob jobs(I will gladly donate to anyone in need),Make our hubby's dress in women's clothes,We want big rocks,Will hurt any other shopper that tries to get a plant that we want at a nursery-Walmart or Lowes,Drive to other states and drag hubby's along so we can see each other,and then all climb in bed together to have pictures taken,then some drive home and argue about a new breed of cow that looks like a horse,one setting in the car with her stop watch as the other run through Walmart like it's a brinks robbery,then the window licker packs up her lil yellow bus bag and they're on the road again ,Then there are code name,like Elf(who is pimpin on the corner to get plants),Fairy,Heaven,seedtosser, animalfreak, etc.........I bet the Government would think we were dangerous!!!!!!!

Laura, there is a patch now that you do not need a prescription. I'll find out the name, it's what I'm going to use. You have to ask for it behind the pharmacy counter, but you don't need a prescription. It's a three step plan. will find out and tell you more later today.

got to go get the boys up to head them out of town. lots to do today on my first official Monday off!

One of the jet skis has a problem... and Don thinks he's figured it out... so, he going to try to fix it himself today when he gets home... suposedly it just needs a new air filter... I hope that's all it is...

I did have a wonderful day with all the grandboys yesterday. They surely are a handful, this is a FACT!

I am hoping that you will all add Kathy (Jordankittyjo) to your prayer list, NOW and OFTEN. She is in dire need of them. Missy has taken Pamela and gone back to Florida. They did not part on good terms and Kathy is so concerned about the little hurricane. She needs to be with Kathy and Mike. I'm not going to go into details, but she is having a terrible time of dealing with this and she needs us. Please help.

The two year old boys get along so well with each other. It's so fun to watch them.

Great Grandma had fun holding the boys. This one is 4 months now and a real chunk. He weighs 17 pounds. This is Kyle.

Nana had fun, too. Here is Colby. He seems so little after holding Kyle. He is up to 8 lbs. something now.
