Me first!!! Do I need to bring over my new post????
We can't forget Donna is in Ohio now..........
Kim, you've done wonders to your new garden! I think too that that might not be a lettuce but a dandelion.
Coincidentally, I took a pic of this giant dandelion that's growing in our garden this morning. Look, Kel pointing to it------surpassed our shade stall. Might be able to see it's stalk next to him.
Welcome Penny. Maid M. (aka Marion aka Abbisgranma) says it well. We're a bunch of diverse ladies.. very different in characters.. but we all have a genuine deep love for one another.
There are many on the roster that have been missing.. but once a sistah always a sistah.
Synda, Kel told me to be upfront with you. I wear 50D :( So sistah, I know what you're going through. Not good for my short frame.
Cindy, I actually need to lose 40 pounds, and if I get a breast reduction, that would be 30 pounds off my spine ;)
Yep, started saving coins and some dollar bills here too.
It's just a week ago I left the sistahs, and I miss them plenty.
BBL
Oh yea, man I keep forgetting about her. Wow next years bash is going to "HUGE" hopefully.
Cookie are you sure you want us all there???? I plan on driving and making it a longer vacation. Hope mom will be up to it. I won't travle by myself.
I'm an original Ohioan. born and raised there, but chose Florida for my home. Been here since H.S. graduation. But it will be nice to go back to see how things have changed up there. Haven't seen Paint Valley in a few years now, home of the BEARCATS!
I went to high school with a gal whose brest were huge!! I think she was 44 DD. She had a brest reduction done. I saw her two years ago at my cousin's memorial service. i didn't even recognize here. She she is a beautiful woman now. I think her breast are now 38 C. She was in alot of pain back then and now she feels great.
It's something to think about, girls................................
I'm never going to get my work done. Between the races and DG, I'm not getting much accomplished.
So I gotta get a move on TTYL
I had to start wearing a bra in the 4th grade........bawled my eyes out.No other girls had to.I feel for ya Jaye.......I'm a 40 DDD.Can never find bras at normal stores so I usually get a 40 DD and then my Cup Runneth Over..........LOL.I'm 5'7" ,never had to worry about drowning.......God gave me a built in Life preserver, the only thing I've had to worry about was smothering, myself or Rick.......LOL.
Ladies, I get all my undies at lanebryant.com. Every now and then they have a sale for 50% off, and that is when I load up! Wish I could get my Dr, to give me a reduction!
Jaye, I have never seen a dandelion that tall! Geesh! What are you feeding it?
LK
Happy Sunday to you all!
A big welcome to you Penny...Will be great getting to know you, and yepper you will love this group of sistahs!
Kim, wow your yard sure has come to life...It's good to see you can post, been thinking about ya, hope the road isn't too bad out there.
Well, finally got caught up with the laundry and straightening up the house...I'v weeded the pool area, planted some annuals around and got working on my RWB swap...woohoo coming along just like I envisioned.
Stacey, so glad you and Janice got home, How was the Birthday Dinner?? Yep, I sure do love Your fairy tattoo, it did turn out gorgeous.
BJ, oh man bummer about the missing saylillies...so glad I didn't pull a weed, ROFLOL especially since you mention that one weed you liked! Not every weed is a weed, some gardeners happen to love Wildflowers, grin grin.
OH MY GOSH Cindy, your Craftroom is awsom! I say you and BJ should come to my house and set me up! LOL, my stuff mounds the table...well, I am glad you are getting settled.
Cody, aww so precious the baby in the dish!
Marion..waiving hello there. Glad you are getting some rest now.
Jaye, How are the kittens? Was so happy to hear Dallas is was getting stronger...Love has everything to do with it, and PS I love the name!
Synda...uh what can I say, at least you got a good sense of humor too.
Well Ladies I gotta get a move on, will be back later...
LK and all who are enjoying my story, thank I am so glad, I love story telling and well you were litterally all with us in spirit so Happy to bring it to life with you.
LOL, still got half of Sunday and Monday to tell you about...giving ya's a break from my blabber.
Enjoy the splender of the day, bbl.
THINGS I LEARNED FROM BEING RAISED IN TEXAS
Armadillos sleep in the middle of the road with their feet in the air.
There are 5,000 types of snakes on earth and 4,998 live in Texas.
There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 live in Texas, plus a couple no one's seen before.
If it grows, it sticks; if it crawls, it bites.
"Twiced" is a word.
People actually grow and eat okra.
"Fixinto" is one word.
There is no such thing as "lunch." There is only dinner and then supper.
Iced tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're two. We do like a little tea with our sugar!
"Backwards and forwards" means I know everything about you!
Djeet is actually a phrase meaning "Did you eat?"
You don't have to wear a watch because it doesn't matter what time it is. You work until you're done or it's too dark to see.
You don't PUSH buttons, you MASH them.
You measure distance in hours. Like its 6 hours from Houston to Dallas...
You'll probably have to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.
"Fix" is a verb. Example: "I'm fixing to go to the store."
You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.
Yes, Friday night high school football games is serious football!
You carry jumper cables in your car . . . for your OWN car.
There are only four spices: salt, pepper, Tabasco and ketchup.
The local papers cover national and international news on one page, but require 6 pages for local gossip and sports.
100 degrees Fahrenheit is "a little warm."
We have four seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, still Summer and Christmas.
Going to Wal-mart is a favorite past time known as
'goin' to Wally-World."
A cool snap (below 70 degrees) is good pinto-bean weather.
A carbonated soft drink isn't a soda, cola or pop. . . . it's a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor. Example: "What kind a coke you want?"
Fried catfish is the other white meat.
We don't need no stinking driver's ed ... if our mama says we can drive, we can drive.
If you understand these jokes please forward them to your friends from Texas (and those who just wish they were).
EVERYONE can't be from Texas. You might say it's a gift from God!
And the most important thing we learn growing up in TEXAS is...
IN GOD WE TRUST
Afternoon all.....welcome Penny !
Can't seem to keep up with all of you lately.
Got a few more things planted....and the new pump in the patio fountain, now if I can just get out all of the gunk that collected while the pump was out.
Next project is to get the back patios cleaned and organized so I can move most of my stuff from the front walk and yard to the back....it is all too untidy to suit my mothers taste...she has always been a complete Obsessive Neat Freak.....is that why I am always surrounded by clutter??
Kim your yard is looking really good!
Cindy looks like you are making a lot of progress!!
Well my MIL goes in for double knee replacement at eleven thirty tomorrow morning....sure hope it all works out for her, but it is going to be a long summer.
With my current issues it is work a little bit, rest a little, work a little, rest a little....guess I should get back to the work part for a bit...BBL !
Yep Phyllis, them is True Words!!
Darn Synda, I don't think of my mammary glands as great flotation device!! Lolol!! My bras are named "Flopper Stopper"!!
LK, it's difficult for me to find bras with front closure. When I do, I stock up!
I didn't do anything to that dandelion. The area where it's growing actually has very poor soil... never been amended. You think that's the secret?
Judy sistah.. on to the next chapter please. You're a great narrator.
More sistahs should experience your armwraps.. if you could put down the bottle, long enough!!!
Phyllis, add this to the list: When asked why things are done differently in Texas.. the common answer is "This is Texas!"
Hope your MIL has an easy recovery Trisha. We'll say a prayer for her. Double knee surgery.. wow.. will there be anyone to help her move around?
Sistahs... just took a shot of Dallas and Cedric, on Kel's chest, while he snores away..
opps sorry I forgot to add in WELCOME PENNY!!!!
Yah.. where are your Texan manners, Phyllis?
Another thing too... those Texan men do open the doors for you and say "M'am".
Jaye its not Texas manners since I am not born and raised here LOL...member I be a damned Yankee cause I came and have stayed...got here as fast as I could LOL
It was a brain fart on my part was thinking it then forgot to add it in ...I am very sorry :-)
too many irons in the fire today ..laundry, cleaning car, weedin flower beds, snappin beans and cookin broccoli and millie has been helpin me .....and laughing at how marion tried to put lil millie in her bag to take her away from her mama LOL
Phyllis... Marion didn't think you'd notice her behind all the lady bugs on that bag... tricky, isn't she?
Jaye... even the bottle didn't hurt the armwraps from Judy... those armwraps were in greater abundance, is all. The last two days she left the bottles alone, and her armwraps were still as warm as ever.
Yep... that's exactly what it's like to be Texan.
Stood outside and hand watered the pots down at the gazebo... took all of 30 minutes... and now I'm sunburned. All I know for sure is that it's 95* in the shade (where the temp guage is), and 108* on the sun porch... I have no idea the temp in the sun out there... but I'm staying inside now...
You girls came to my house just in the nick of time before it got so hot...
I think I'll go turn the sprinklers on though, just to cool things down for the plants a bit.
Oops... forgot... (see Phyllis, you're not the only one that does that)
Trisha... what's ailing you, sistah? Why do you have to do a little bit, then rest a little bit... something's wrong, cause you're the "always on the go" sistah around here.
I'll be praying for your MIL too... hope she gets along alright.
BJ ......here you guys are getting triple digits.....we're upper seventies to mid eighties.....lovin' every minute of it.....
Stomach/back problems???? don't know for sure....aches and pains and get worn out in a hurry....didn't even do the Thursday or Sunday bike ride this week....hoping it is just the bug that has been going around the area, but I sure am getting tired of it fast. I am sure if I dropped the extra 30 pounds wouldn't hurt any either.
My SIL from Yakima is coming over and staying with MIL during the week once she is back home....Laura will stay over and younger SIL and I will help out on weekends......
Got the Rudbeckia, Nicotiana and tomato planted (tomato is called Mortgage Lifter) ....sure hope this is better than last year was for tomatoes!!!!! If I have my tomatoes and Basil I have a meal!!
Yep... when we were having all those pleasant spring days, and you were still snowed in... you were jealous... Now, the shoes on the other foot...
I'm wanting to come to your house for the summer.
I know it's got to be bad... cause it takes a lot to get someone like you down... I do hope you feel better soon... it stinks to have so much "want to" and "can't do" at the same time.
Afternoon ladies! Hope your not working too hard?
Trisha, hope your feeling better soon. My Brother in Bremerton has the crud too. Just something going around I guess. Praying for your MIL, WOW, double knee replacement! Hope they will be sending her home with someone to help her out?
Speaking of knee surgery, Audrey, how you doing? I have not seen you on here too much! Don't be a stranger.
This was on my neighbors roof a little bit ago! had to snap the picture!
LK
OK what did I miss you guys are saving penny's for OHIO when, wear time it is 7 hours away depends if I don't have to work late Friday or on Saturday I just may be there. Tell me all about it will ya
Flaming Kim
Oh forgot my son will be in town this week so I am thinking about getting a pond small but he could put it in for me he should have started a business doing pond he is very good at it. I saw one for 35.00 started kit with all the works at Menard's the other day I had it in my hand and put it back I may just go back and get it. This week cause I have to go down that road
I lost you guys somewhere along the way.
Well, two steps forward, one step back. I’m down to about a quarter of what I had been smoking, but I had to pick up a pack. It’s just too hard to go full cold turkey. I’m still working on quitting, it’s just going to be slow.
Phyllis, I recognize some of those things you learned being raised in TX. The one I was most amused by was ‘A carbonated soft drink isn't a soda, cola or pop. . . it's a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor. Example: "What kind a coke you want?"’ I’ve been teased about doing this for years.
Hey Laura, glad to hear you are getting better at the no smoking. It does take time, and if you can, cold turkey is the best way, but slowing down is good too! How is hubby doing?
Kim, we are organizing a get together at cookies, and or Dusty's place next summer for the girls! You have to join us! You can call in sick for a few days or something? LOL
LK

I get punished If I call in and they won't have me work for a week. A driver went to a funeral an Uncle, He went to the U.P. of Michigan and they kept him home for a week Now if its Judy is that Seedtooser1 thats close and I could have people stay here if not alot of room or will she have it at Camp?
And that is even if she does have it
DH can use the gum, I can't say he's being perfect, but he's doing pretty good. Still having some of the withdrawl issues, but not as bad as I was having.
I told someone when I tried to quite they told me lots and lots and lots of water. I am not a big water fan so that may be why I didnt quite
Keep up the good work One day at a time
How long have you been smoking? Just keep posting here, and we will help you through this.
Kim, sorry, it is Dusty's place, not judy. I went back up to edit my post.
Dusty, and cookie/JoyceT live close to each other.
LK
Oh hay I think next story Judy wood be happy to have all you gals there Won't you Judy Just joking Judy
That is not to far it may be 5 hour drive I was going to stop by but my teeth went out so came straight home but I think she is 2 hours Closer If my mind didn't get away from me
NO... it's not Dusty's place... IT"S COOKIE"S PLACE... Joyce, Joycet... The Ohio Lady with the Florida Tan.
Dusty will be there, I'm sure... they live next door to each other... but it's officially going to be AT COOKIE's place... she's our hostess for June 2010.
I'm boxing up plants today to send off tomorrow... but I sure feel sorry for them in this heat... I think I'll stick some flozen ice packs in the box in the morning just before I take them to the PO... IT'S HOT...
Ok, I'll stop complaining... sheesh... and it's not even June yet.
LK, I've been smoking for about 10 years.
if I can quit after 35 years...she can make it now....I have faith in them....
Laura, I've been smoking for over 20,,,trying hard to stop this summer. stupidest habit I ever picked up,,,and no,,,didn't start as a teenager,,,started at 33 years old,,,so was old enough to know better,,,young enough not to care. Now I care ,,and it's a hard hard habit to quit. So I do know where you're coming from. But try to think about where we are going.
and I for one am not about to give anymore of my money to uncle sam. they went to $4.00 a pack for generic here, and come july 1st,,,cartons are going up ten more dollars. I can think of a lot of plants I could buy with that money,,,so let's stick together ,,,meet here everyday,,,hold each other up,,,we can do this thing!!!!! If we have to start our own thread,,,lol,,,we will do it.
Less than 6 hours and it is June!! I agree with the heat--even in our shade it is a little uncomfortable. Who am I kidding--it is a lots uncomfortable.
Phyllis, I was trying to steal your baby just bring her to Florida for a visit and then you would have to come get her. See there was a madness in what I was doing. I loved the Texas thing--could be Florida and BTW, doesn't everyone say what kind of coke do you want? Thought that was normal.
Laura good going--progress is progress and I am sure you will make it to the finish and be cigarette free. Deborah is doing fantastic with her quitting but Judy, well we need to work on her again. Let's just say she slipped but still gives great armwraps.
Bj just when does the "hot red pepper" arrive at your dwelling? I can see it now....i will never be able to catch up with you with my lil ole lady driving!!! LOL Phyllis sure glad you will be in the passenger seat! We will need pictures now.
Jaye, neat picture of Kel, Cedric and Dallas. I see she is making great progress. That is what loving care will do!!
Penny, what a small world we live in. My hubby took me, our daughter and a next door neighbor to Toronto to see Phantom with Michael Crawford also. What an experience. He had lots of frequent flier miles that were needing to be used up so we all accommodated him. I have since seen it again in Orlando and Tampa. Yeap you might say I am addicted. We have the DVD and frequently it is replayed. They just don't make 'em like that anymore!!
Well off to think about fixing us something to eat. I cook tonight but Kim is on KP duty for the rest of the week. Ah, welcome summer!!!
Kinda chilly here, could put on a sweater outside.I'm ready for some heat....LOL.
sending some your way synda!!
