"Thad " it is.........if he comes back on stage! LOL Dahlia and Victor!! At the moment, I'm watching those 2 huge turkeys again. They gorge on the corn, then settle in for a nap and then waddle back for more. One of them has the look of a "26 - 28 pound" Thanksgiving bird! At least I know they're safe while they are on stage.
If any of you are Red Sox fans, keep your eye on the seats above the Green Monster tonight. Our good friend is celebrating his 90th birthday today and he was on his way to the game in a stretch limo, hopefully with seats on the Monster. They were leading in the bidding the last time we heard, but we aren't sure whether they won or not. At 90 he can run circles around us....and does! LOL He reads the Wall Street Journal first thing every morning, and then calls to give us a synopsis for the day. He's also the most generous and kindest guy on earth!
Sophie's Saga ........ look how much she's grown!!
Boy, Dahlia.......you catch on to the rules here very quickly!!! LOL Only chocolate is provided at the counter!!
Sounds like a great guy, Louise! (Except the Sox part.^_^)
Spoke to a friend today after our nasty T-storms, & she said her turkeys scattered after a very loud blast! I don't blame them.
My DH will be watching---I'll be on the other set with the Mets.
Beat those Phillies!
Yay---love it if they could---too many injuries!
That's for sure.
LOL, Victor! Good luck to you and Robin in tonight's Mets game!!
Go Jays Go!!!
Is that a team or a bird (or a funny little cigarette)???
LOL!!
Toronto Blue Jays...the best ever.
I remember Dave Winfield hitting a seagull with the ball!
I remember that! And they had to arrest him because they are a protected species.
I remember. Pretty silly.
Candyce, my DH and I took a ride to Nelson yesteday to see how your gazebo is coming along. What happened? Didn't anybody want to help you? Your town is so pretty - we really enjoyed our ride.
Hope you took a spin around Granite Lake---my DH & I were impressed by it. Victor & I saw an exciting game last night---too exciting for me----I like a 10 run lead in the 9th.
Go Phils!
BOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Hi Robyn Yes we did drive around Granite Lake. I love the pottery!!! We drive to Keene quite often to do our shopping and I go that way often. It is really pretty country...
Enough of the theater....sorry about hijacking Sophie's thread, Celeste! LOL I'll just subtitle the last few posts, "Sophie and her wild critter friends wrap their human hosts around their little toes" LOL
Wow, Louise----what is Thad? He's humongous! And Tess is sweet----plus a great insect eater!
Robin - we're not sure what kind of turtle Thad is. Judging from the length of his toenails, we think he's a senior citizen. Maybe a woods turtle? I don't know enough about turtles to know what kind he is.
Probably one of these:
http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Wildlife/Nongame/turtles.htm
He's got a lot of mud on him, so it's hard to tell by his shell.
That's a cool link! We think he looked most like a snapping turtle, but he didn't snap. Maybe he didn't find us very threatening.. LOL......he may have heard from the grapevine that we were spreading cracked corn.......
Can you see the back of the shell near the tail? If it has a VVV-shaped edge and a long tail - it's a snapper ( I think)
I thought the hooked nose(beak?) is very snapperish...but doesn't the shell have more pointy edges?
Sure looks like a snapper to me, and I don't think any of those other turtles get that big. He sure is impressive!
Karen
Until you know for sure, fingers out of the way!
and toes....
Great shot of that turtle Louise, but please be careful!! It does look alot like a snapper.
Thad is so cool and obviously very smart not to snap at a stick. Ditto on being extra careful DB. Pixie any news on the new baby buns???
