Sophie's Saga ........ look how much she's grown!!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Phoebe never puy her toys away either--LOL

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

My cats never put their toys away. I spent 10 minutes last night just putting cat toys away!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I don't think cats ever put toys away. Mine use anything they can find for toys!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

The crazy ole cat always puts his toys away or rather hides his toys after he's finished playing with them. This is because he only plays with his old toys so I gave away some of his untouched new toys to a friend for her new rescue a few years ago. He is still totally ticked off about it.

Awww, how sweet they all are, Celeste! Sophie is 7 pounds!!! Wow! I'm so happy you have begun the new thread. You are one resilient and awesome Lady!! Thanks!

Thomaston, CT

My DH was wondering how much Sophie weighed---she's the only thing he's interested in on the computer! When I told him 7 pounds, he laughed. Guess it doesn't sound much compared to our 50 & 70 pound dogs.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

LOL, Robin! Sophie has a wide fan base!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wonder how much bigger she will get?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

6 feet.

Harvey?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Yup.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Sofie sure is big, and the babies are looking great. So cute! I just want to cuddle them! Thanks for keeping us up to date!

Your very welcome..... it's my pleasure to be honest.
This is how all 4 sleep, they need to face opposite ways on the look out for danger.

Another angle....
When you walk up my deck it turns abruptly to the right at the top and then right again after 2-3 steps. It leaves a square hole between the deck & house. I always said I wanted to filll it in and put a small shade garden there but never did. It's a good thing as this is where they lay. The only opening is from the top unless you crawl under the deck/mudroom. It's very safe and they know it's us coming out that door.

I have 3 small flower beds along the deck that I put mostly annuals in. Not this year as he would:
A. eat the plants
B. digs the dirt and takes his "dust bath' in it.
C. it's his new 'Lani' where he lays out in the sun every afternoon and takes his siesta!!

Look at the look on his face would you?

This is the darkest one left, with out the other dark one around...I can't get close to her.....she won't let me touch her.

I love this picture of Allspice/Patches smelling the flower, which he promptly ate. lol

How absolutely wonderful. I love pictures that show the awe in a child's eyes. How great for you!!!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What a great expression on Bella.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

I can tell--Bella is gonna be a bunny lover! My friend's grandaughter gets the same look when she spies Columbus! LOL! Who, BTW, is rattling his food dish as I type...you know, he won't touch dandelions? He absolutely loves his quaker oats though.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Adorable photos of Bella and the Bunnies, Celeste!! I had to look at each one several times.....to get my fix! LOL

Today while we were eating lunch on our porch, the "theater" as I call it was just filled with critters. Tilly Turkey and the 3 young fawns have gotten used to each other and now they feed on the cracked corn together without any folderol. In the very same "slice of life" image all at once, I could see Monk the Chipmunk nibbling the ground under one feeder which was occupied by Grover and Gracie Grosbeak, Tess the Tree Swallow hanging out of her box; behind her box were Tilly, 4 squirrels and Todd the Toad. No lie.......all at the same time. The only actors missing were the dear. In this shot of my roses, you can see that the deer are full from rose buds and didn't want any cracked corn. LOL

Yikes! That's kinda heartbreaking...bless those critter's cute little hearts :-((

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Bella is adorable, Celeste, as are the bunnies, naturally.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

LOL, Phoebe! I thought it was nice that they left me one stem filled with buds! We have so much fun watching all the critters, that I don't get too bent out of shape from an occasional munch or two. It probably needed pruning anyway. LOL

Thomaston, CT

You made my day, Pixie, with photos of the bunnies & Bella---they are both just adorable! Louise, you certainly have a menagerie! I haven't seen the deer herd since March, & am praying they don't come back!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

How lucky can you get Louise....you have a circus and you never have to leave the farm! lol I do love watching the wildlife!!!!
Well I had a scare this morning.....not one bunny around, anywhere!! They were over to Aunties house visiting....one has started nesting under Aunties porch, we believe she is expecting.

This is Daddy...he is one proud as a peacock male. He marks everything with his chin so I knew he was the dominant male.

MORE BABIES!!!!! YAY!!!! What a scare, Celeste. I'm so glad they were just away visiting!

4 huge turkeys eating the cracked corn as I write this......menagerie, circus.....you bet!! LOL

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Gobble-gobble! What's gestation for bunnies--30 days I think? Woo-hoo! Baby bunns!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Funny you should mention turkeys...we had a huge tom in the field this weekend.
Yes 30 days and oh, BTW, Peanut is a HE...uu-huh. HE was on top of Allspice/Patches......another big suprise as I thought just the opposite on that one too! I suck at guess the gender game. lol

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

DonnieB you have a wonderful wilderness. I wish I had your wildlife although I would lose the squirrels. WHOO HOO new baby buns!!!! I'm so glad we don't have to do babybun showers or we would soon be exhausted. I hope there is a Sophie III. Pixie do you think Mamabun will bring the babies over to visit ? Boris and Natasha were hopping around yesterday all brown which must make Boris feel good cuz his ears stayed brown all winter when the rest of him was white. (Bunbun technical difficulties I guess) I was worried cuz I hadn't seen them for awhile and the City might trap them if someone complains. Catch and release of course but I would miss them.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Gender identity issues? Not just you--bunnies suck at it too! They do a lot of experimenting til they get lucky, so don't count yer chickens...errr-bunnies! Hee-hee

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That's funny, Celeste! I'm not sure how you could be "good" at guessing bunny genders! LOL

As to the wildlife parade here....I was waiting with camera ready to get a good shot of Tilly Turkey fraternizing with the 4 deer. Then, just as we were watching the Belmont Stakes race on Saturday, I had a perfect opportunity up close to get a shot of them a foot apart! BUT....I couldn't stop watching the race long enough to walk over to the window. Then, I lost my chance! The stage is empty at the moment. But there's a chickadee mom trying so hard to come inside with us. Most of the wall looking up at the meadow is glass, and she is trying everything she can think of to come on in for a chat. Tess the Tree Swallow is peeking out of her box watching the silly chickadee and looking very judgmental about it all. I got within 2 feet of her and had a nice chat with her when I was planting the caladiums. I love tree swallows!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

What a wonderful word picture, Louise. You have propelled me to your farm in just a few sentences and I am cavorting with the deer and the swallows.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Hey, where are you, Candyce???? Are you writing from the Cape? I must have gotten the dates of your Cape vacation mixed up?? I'm glad you were transported.....LOL !

Today we had a new character take the stage......a very large turtle (likely a snapper) was up in the meadow when we left to do some errands. I was going to get a shot of him when we got home, but he is not visible at the moment. With the rain, however, I did not walk up to see if he's obscured by the taller grasses in the upper meadow. He was smack in the middle of our putting green - and very visible - when we left. Hank walked up and checked him out before we left. If we see him again, he will get a name. That's the protocol here at the theater.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Thaddeus is a good name for a very large snapping turtle. It means 'heart' so naming him this might give him the heart not to snap you like a twig.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

dnut---you crack me up!!!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I have a better name - Soup.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

mmmmmmmm but I don't think we should eat anything but chocolate in the theatre.
