Do you all remember the picture of Sophie with the 6 oz pineapple can?? Well I thought it was time to show you her now and the said can.
It's almost scary!!!!!!
Sophie's Saga ........ look how much she's grown!!
She's a regular diva! So pretty and big.
Sophie has the nicest ears---so expressive---you're right---Peanuts does look like her! Have you named the male, & 2 other females?
When I think of Sophie's dubious beginnings.....
Add a little divine intervention, a little pixie....
These are the things that make life wonderful!
Thanks for posting Celeste!
Great pics, thanks Celeste.
Thank you for the new thread!
Sophie is so pretty. Funny about not coming to her smelling of another rabbit. Made me laugh!!
Susan
=^..^=
I totally KNEW that Sophie was a female Harvey and would be a bigbun ^_^ I luv all the wonderful colours of the new babybuns ^_^ Peanut is just totally huggable and more so! I just NEED to pet them and cuddle them and pet them and cuddle them....
**and name them George...**
you are WTMF threegardeners ^_^
translation please?
WTMF = Way too much fun. Sorry phoebes. My bad.
is okay--that's just one I haven't come across before--thanks ^_^
I saw the WTMF, and totally thought it meant something else...lol...which I will not repeat here...I'll have my account banded...or something like that.
Sophie has gotten GiNormous :-)
I have sorta kinda kept up...but...since you've named them all, does this mean you're making outside pens/shelters for them also?
No, they made their own! I had a bunch of unused lattice and stuff under my porch and they have utilized it. lol Peanut scurries under a piece of lattice and I can see her white fur glowing until she moves deep into the hole(?) they've dug. I assume it's a hole of some sort.....a safety dug-out would be my guess. I did purchase some fencing, we are just not sure how to do it and still keep it semi-wild. We want it to be large and natural enough for them not to feel caged, but keep predators out. Or at least try to....minimize would be a better word I guess.
How cool! Sounds like they've made their own warren under your lattice Pixie. I'm thinkin theres gonna be more babies ^_^
Do they have birth control for bunnies?
And Celeste - what was the name of the food you give them? Susie has been nibbling where she shouldn't.
We feed them:
Wild Harvest Premium Blend Rabbit food with Timothy Hay . You can buy it at Walmart.
We also give them a piece of fresh banana, oyster crackes and dried papaya pieces now and then.
They still much on things they shouldn't now and then but not like a wild rabbit does who has no other supplements.
Tim doesn't mind? ^_^
Guess not! lol
Wow, I can't believe how big she got. They are all soooo cute!
"A little closer look at Allspice, you can see in his eyes he's changed"
Awww...Allspice does seem to have lost that expression of wide-eyed innocence...d/t developing maturity perhaps?
Miss Peanut really stands out---I can see how albinos don't last long in the wild. My DIL was complaining yesterday that their driveway---bounded by stone walls-- is always full of rabbits. I told her she's lucky---the coyotes can't get them there, & the kids love to see them.
Yay, Sophie update - thank you! She really has gotten big!! How heavy is she now? Can imagine it is quite a difference for Brian to hold her like that now - does she still like it?
She loves to be held......Brian spends a half hour 2 x a day holding her. Sometimes it's longer than a half hour, especially at night when she falls asleep in his arms. lol
Not sure what she weighs now....might have to weigh her! ^_^
OK, DH weighed himself then he weighed himself holding Sophie and he figures she weighs close to(drum roll please).......7LBS!!!
I see a 4 letter word in her near future. lol
Wow! Tell Brian to start taking her for walks!
Now, THERE'S a picture I want to see ... Brian and Sophie taking a walk!
Seriously, Celeste. They all look so good, and sweet, and I know they are very loved little bunches of fluff.
Celeste--you and Brian are soooo lucky Sophie likes to be held! So often, I wish Columbus liked it, but it panics him. He is quite affectionate, loves to be petted and stroked, but the minute you position your hand to lift him, he dives for cover :-(( Yet, when he is free--he is always checking to make sure I'm around--and will settle by my feet. Does Sophie have some toys? Columbus loves his toys! And he puts them away! LOL!
Oh, what a good rabbit----can't even get my dogs to put theirs away----of course, there's not much left after they've gotten hold of a stuffie or two.
