I think I need to move the Oriole feeder. It's hanging from a hook and the Bluebirds, Mockingbird, Scissor-tails, and Western Kingbirds who like to perch there seem to be creating a problem. I'll hose that off and rearrange in a little bit.

Ha Ha on the turkey, Depsi! That is funny.
Reddirt: The colors on the house finch are so bright in the morning sun! I have been watching them this morning too! I mean the ones here in Alabama. haha

Hi Depsi, Neat pic of the Turkey!

Red, Nice ones! Love the Oriole.

Where have I been?! I've missed the last couple of threads for some bizarre reason! I've had fun catching up with all the great pics.

Here's a swan I think carrying goslings under her wings...

Yes I can see some of them under the Mute Swans wings. Nice pic knip! We've missed you!

Well my experiment is sort of a failure. I'm surprised I didn't think of this before but what's happening is the Grackles are taking the white striped sunflower seed to one of the bird baths and soaking it in the water to be able to open it. LOL, they are very intelligent. All the water sources were such a mess today. They aren't eating the safflower but they are dumping it all over the ground.
Since both of the feeders I have up are squirrel buster plus feeders I think once this feeder in the tree is emptied of this seed I will next take off the perching ring leaving just the perching posts there for small birds.
I'll let you know if that works. :-)

Goslings? Sorry I meant cygnets..

Here's another later shot.

This is a poor shot of a Carolina Wren who has an injured leg or foot.

poor thing...they do seem to manage though, don't they? I was thinking this gull I got a pic of today had one leg too...

They (gulls) like to perch on one leg. Nice pic 3g!

Spent a lot of time taking (and deleting) pics of Red-tailed Hawks.

Not many turned out to my liking but here is one that's not bad.

It's been so hot here lately, that even the birds are stressed. This gal hardly leaves the nestbox, so I check frequently on the bath nearest her.

On the Red-Bellied WP, I put out some bananas and he loved it. So now I don't throw away the over-riped bananas...I put them out and he takes care of them. I've also seen him take a mouth full with him so maybe he's feeding the babies...hope it's not harmful.

I was quite surprised a couple weeks ago to see a hummer bathing in the fast moving waters of the creek. Then again a couple days ago. I'd have thought they'd prefer the calmer edgewater.

Sorry for bad photo. From my side of the creek, I have to face the sun.

Still a good shot...surprising!! they are so tiny you'd really think they'd like the slower waters...

Though I didn't get images with the crest up on the Ruby-crowned Kinglet, I was happy he sat still for me.
