##Sweet Interruptions ## 139

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Dear Friends,

It's so quiet at my house now. Sheesh... just when I had adjusted to all the hustle and bustle... it's over. I miss everyone so much already... just waiting now for everyone to get home and report in that they made it safely.

Joyce and Judy left this morning with Don for the airport... and Janice and Stacey just left for the first leg of their drive.

You just can't imagine how much I love these women who came so far to visit me (and each other)... they are each gems...

I've got to go get Mike now, but I'll post more later. I think the only room I'll resurrect today will be his room... cause I put an awful lot of pink in there for the ladies... and I don't think he'll appreciate it as much as they did. But the rest of the house, I think I'll leave for today... so I can soak in more of the memories. It's truly been a whirlwind weekend.

no lk. all our cats are neutered or spayed.
in fact the vet thinks the feral mama cat is infected and that her milk don't have the antibodies needed,
we will be getting a trap to trap 2 feral cats at the shop, so we can treat them.
kel will try to catch the other 2 siblings tomorrow.

new sign at the house----
will work for furry babies

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

i know what you mean bj. we are just beginning to wind down...i stll hear marion's laughter... debbie's sweet voice ...
bj, turn on all the tvs and crank up the volume.... you'll get 'the noise' back.
shucks... knowing how polite mike is...he won't complain of all the pink in his room. i am glad we stayed at a motel, if not i will have nightmares in that room.

lk, kitty also has a hot water bottle under her

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh BJ, I know how you feel, all the strange ladies in your house very quickly became wonderful long time friends, and now they are gone. I know you are glad to get your house back, but I also know you miss them very much!
I could not be part of this visit, but I was thinking of all of you all the time, wishing I could have been there! At least I heard you all yell hello LK on the ophone, and as soon as you all get home, we want more stories, and pictures please!
As Jaye posted the photos, even hubby was asking who is that, and where do they live, so maybe he has the DG bug now! LOL!!!
This is a dahlia that is blooming, it is one I got in a bag of mixed colors from wal mart.

Jaye, I have it! If she survives, you can call her 'sweet interruption', after the thread and all the ladies who are pulling for her to survive. Bless her little heart,,,I do pray she makes it.
Heading out now ladies for the afternoon run,,,,it's a hot one here today, humid,,,heading into more rain this afternoon,,,,sure hope it waits until I get the little ones home.
Other than that,,,the sunshine is a welcome site! My solar batteries were growing dim from lack of it.
BJ I agree with Jaye, turn on the t.v. and radio, ,,,but if you 're like me,,,you can just sit and soak in memories for a time. You all looked like you were having such a great time, I truly am sorry so many of us could not make it. But next time..........
got to go ladies, have a great day

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, Jaye... I'm so sorry you got home to a sick fur baby... I do pray she's be ok... I'm sure with your nurturing ways, you'll do everything you can.
I think you should call her Sistah.

LK... I was so hoping you could have been here too. We missed you so much.
We missed all of you that couldn't be here this year... but we talked about you all, so you were with us in spirit...

It's funny how so many of us here shared such similar experiences in our lives, and we're all so different that it kept things interesting. We are in reality kindred spirits.

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

Heyyyy BJ....It sure was great to talk to you !!!...I guess Cookies plane will be landing in another hour...I think Bill just left to go get her...

No rain here yet, but it's only 75* so not too bad out, but it's humid...I got a few things done out there so far, but Jim couldn't get the little tiller started so that is holding me up on the waterfall...I can rent one for $40 for 4 hours, and I only need one for about 30 minutes or less...This clay is so hard packed that neither Jim nor I can dig the amount that needs to be done...It is like trying to dig cement, and I'm getting frustrated...I want to get this waterfall put back together, and get these plants moved and seeds down...It's going to be too late to do them...

Break is over... back at it... LOL

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Was great talking to you to, Dusty... I wished so hard that you could have been here, cause I really wanted to give you a special hug, for a very special reason... NEXT YEAR I will, for sure.

Ok, Pictures... well... I didn't get very many of them because, well, I was a little busy. Mike has some different ones on his memory card that he'll share with me, but I haven't seen them yet.

Here's a few that I've picked out that have very special meaning to me... and probably some that other sistahs won't have to share...

First... notice in this picture how Jaye's infectious laugh trickles up the steps... by the time it got to the top, we were all laughing really hard.

We were all trying to get lined up for the group picture of us all wearing the lovely aprons that Jaye made each of us... and Judy thought she'd take matters into her own hands and pose us... this was only the first time that our giggle boxes all got out of control...

The day we went to the Rose Garden... we kidnapped Phyllis on our way there... there's a Rose Museum at the entrance to the gardens where all the past Rose Queen gowns are displayed... actually, the queen's court is all represented there too... the history of the Rose Festival is long and rich, going back to 1933...

Well, we got so excited about it all, that we decided that one of us should be the next Rose Queen... here we are practicing for the try outs.

Phyllis wanted to see what she'd look like in the royal crown... but it was locked up tight... so this is the best we could do...

Now, that was a hard pose to hold till we got that shot.

We caravaned in 2 cars to take Phyllis home the next day... she just felt to compelled to wave to Janice, Stacey and Joyce in the car behind us going down the road. So, she stuck her head out the sun roof.

Morning/Afternoon ladies.....a bit cloudy here right now but is supposed to be temporary...still warm.

Jaye, Hope or Sunshine.......she is a little ray of sunshine and we all Hope and Pray she pulls through....

So glad everyone had such a good time! Everyone can wind down now and get some rest....and prayers for safe travel for all on the way home.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Here's a few I got off of Mike's memory card...

Marion was brave enough to get on the jet ski with me.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

And this was when Kris was brave enough to get on the jet ski with Stacey... what happened later kinda ruined all that, but at least Mike got a shot when they were still dry.

Judy surprised us all with a sun catcher that she made with her own hands, out of willow branches she gathered from her own tree.

Here's the bunch that went with Don on the Pontoon boat.

Sometimes the Deck was the gathering place.

Thumbnail by bjwilson
Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Sometimes they all seemed to gather on the sun porch.

Thumbnail by bjwilson
Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

But it seems like every night we all seemed to want to gather in the gazebo till bed time... and I don't have one picture (not even one) of one of those late night gatherings.

We had saved the wood pile for when everyone was here to start a bon fire... Stacey wanted to roast marshmallows...
BUT... a bird had built a nest in amost the wood pile, and we couldn't burn it... so, Don pulled out some of the branches and he made a fire in the burn barrel for Stacey to roast her marshmallows.
Of course, others had to get in on the action too...

But, before we could roast marshmallows, Judy had us say a prayer, and offer some of our dinner to the spirits... our prayer was that all of our sistahs that couldn't be with us this year would join us in spirit. Then, we tossed a plate of food into the fire... when we did... you should have seen the embers that floated up high up into the air... was a very spiritual sight.

BJ, thanks for the pictures and stories. Sounds like you all had a wonderful time! Maybe Stacey can write a book about it some day?
Still waiting for clear pictures of Stacey's tattoo?
LK

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Stacey's tat was posted several posts up... way up there...

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

Welllllll ....That apron Pic explains alot....Cookie wears hers high to keep her fronts out of her cooking, and now I KNOW Judy and I are related... She wears hers on her behind, which is where I need to wear mine, because I wipe my paws on my posterior...LOL

I have a special kiss for you too BJ...One I've had for 41 years come July 5th....

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Cookie called a while ago, left me a voice mail message, because I couldn't find my phone (again).... she was back in Ohio, on the ground... but not Home yet... I'm sure she'll check in when she is.

Kris, I'm so glad you're home safe... one less sistah to worry about now.

Deborah, check in, please... I know you've had time to make it home.

Judy is home... when she catches her breath... she'll be here to tell her story.

Marion will check in tonight if it's not too late... she's got to be one whooped puppy after this weekend... we kinda wore her out, then she had all that driving to do...

Stacey and Janice won't be home till Friday...they're going through St Louis to spend a little time with DAD on the way home.

Oh looks like ya'll had a blast! Tennessee would be great!

That's so sweet the little girl, has she been named yet? If not, I'd call her Ebony.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hi Faye, welcome!
Sistahs please welcome Faye. Met her when I first came to DG and I think we are the only ones from NC frequenting Midsouth!

Special request here.
Barb's (Quilter5bdsr) husband, Norman will be having a biopsy done on his lung tomorrow. Please pray that it is benign.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Welcome Faye! Glad you joinmed us.

Jaye how is the little kitty doing tonight?
LK

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I've been hydrating her with straight Pedialyte. Just a moment ago, I fed her Pedialyte and kitty formula. Hope her stomach is able to digest the food.
Also gave her antibiotics, just one cc. A squirt and that's it.
She's sleeping next to the keyboard now. She can raise her head.. that's a big AMEN!

Kel nicknamed her "10 %"! Let's pray for 100%!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

When I got Tiga (Teega) she was 3 weeks old and in the same condition. I went to Petsmart and bought a can of "Mothers Milk" and a bottle. I had to work swing shift but made sure her little belly was full and that was it. Of course at 3 weeks her eyes were only slightly open anyway, but she was skinny as a rail and sick sick sick. Just one week after feeding her regularly, however regularly mother cats feed their kittens, she was fine, feisty, and attacking the 5 year old cat my boyfriend at the time had.

Welcome Faye!! I think I've seen you on Midsouth, great to see you here!

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

Ladies/Sistahs.....Marion just posted over on the More Girl Talk thread...
She is home safe and sound...just in case she falls asleep getting over here... LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion get a good nights rest, and charge your camera, so you can post your pictures here!

I like Zena for a cat name too. Just thought of it, I like that better than Ebony. It took me a month to come up with a suitable name for Tiga, one day it just struck me, the light came on!
