one view of the green house stands... a few trays look yucky but the rest are good
Garden Photos of '09.....#21
thats the way it goes in the gardening game! lol
live and learn... still learning a lot... I figure the quantity I grow from seed... the failures don't really matter much... still have more than I need... and enough to share
:)
Very nice, dnut! I'll have to remember to ask how your dicentra's hanging. I like that variegated heuchera.
Nice iris, Allison! All great shades. Wow - you have those shelves and now a GH!
Jen - I think the gardenia is Kleim's Hardy.
Lovely photos everyone. Thanks, Redchick. The leaves on the Jack are neat too.
Willie, Yes, I'll save you some seeds. Do you want Nora Barlow also?
Dahlianut, All of your blooms were worth waiting for. I've never seen a Mayday tree.
Allison, Love the variegated Iris. Have been wanting one of those.
Oriental Poppy
That's a beautiful mix up, stormyla! I think that Iris is a knockout.
Dnut, I love your variegated Heuchera.
JoAnn, your Peony is a winner. So nice to have flowers with special meaning in the garden. I'm loving that Hosta Antioch as well.
jumper, I love all your Dwarf Irises. So sweet.
Thom, excellent Hostas. Always nice to see something different, especially with the red spots.
Victor, I can't get enough of that Crystal Fountain. I think that is my favorite Clematis, so far.
I've been busily planting. Yesterday, I nearly had heat stroke so I concentrated on the shade garden until I recovered. Watch out for that sun folks. It can sneak up on you!
Very pretty iris Stormy!
Allison.... Wow! that's a lot of coleus! But, It's pretty.
Jo Ann.... The mothers day tree peony is lovely.
Dyane.... That's not good at all. I'm glad to hear thought that you're all right. Even heat exhaustion can cause expensive trips to doctors office and cause a wasted day or two. So, I'm glad that you had a quick turn around.
Such great pictures. And baby birds. aawwwww!!!
I'm really excited because I just counted 5 garter snakes in my backyard. yipee!
I saw a snake get carried away in late winter/early spring so I was concerned I only had one or two left. And a bunch of voles moved into my wildlife garden out back (with all tunnels leading to bird feeders, go figure). So I was concerned that they'd get out of control. Well, now I'm not so concerned!!
I'm also excited because I wanted my backyard to be wildlife friendly, and it is actually turning out that way. I guess not mowing in the way back, and mowing high plus not using chemicals is really paying off. So happy about that :)
Here's snakes 2 & 3 on the back of the waterfall. The stones are dry stacked so after a while they headed in there to hide (chipmunks also like to go in there...hopefully not at the same time as the snakes!).
Shelley, I'm fine now but I really got thrown for a loop. No fun. I wanted to thank you for one of your comments. You said one of my Azaleas ('White Lights') must smell delicious. I never would have thought to smell the Azalea. You were right, it had a lovely fragrance that I would have missed!
Geum 'Mrs. Bradshaw'
sweet columbines and I have never seen a flower that red.
Everyone's blooms look great.
Allison, that dark red coleus in the back is outstanding.(hint, hint)
Nemophilia 'Five Spot' that reseeded under the Cerastium.
