Gorgeous Strawflowers! I had a bunch, but they are gone now, the heat was too much this year. :(
Just stick flowers in a vase!
Thanks! Did you manage to save any for drying indoors Sally?
No, since I have been sick and it has been OVERLY hot outside, I don't even go out now. Hubby has been trimming etc. Some of the flowers just went to heck, not his fault, the heat is worse than on record...EVER. My big perennials, trees, etc are fine, we water a lot, but some flowers just bit the dust.
THIS will be a summer to forget for sure. Here is a memory, ha.
That sure is a nice memory Sally. I sure hope the heat breaks for you soon and you feel well enough to get outside.
Me too!
Hi Sally! Pretty picture with the pink frame, it looks fab! Hope you are getting better and keeping cool.
2gmk, Hope the wedding flowers are all going to plan, good luck to the Happy couple!
I'll be away for a couple of weeks, hope you all don't forget to 'stick some flowers in a vase' for me.. hehe!
Happy summer everyone!
Have a safe trip! Pretty flowers!!
Nice veggies, Blossom!
LOL! Thanks!
(She wanted peppers! I tossed in a few maters for grins!!)
What a lovely bouquet, Blossom. Such a neat mix of colors. What are the purplish flowers and the greenish/yellowish ones?
In the vase arrangement is a red rose, then three sedum autumn joys, white asters, purple aster, golden rod, a dusty miller collar. Its aroma is amazing!
The shoes have green and white coleus potted in them.
Thanks for the info. Your autumn joy is more purplish than mine - the one I have is more pinkish. I like the feathery golden rod - will have to try to plant that next year. Hope it is not too big - I am fast running out of space - something that you don't have to worry about with all your acres LoL.
If you plan to do a golden rod go with the dwarfs. My rods are wild
and are 6 feet tall and take a lot of space!
My asters are very tall too and of the feral variety! If you do asters get purple dome in you small yard, get purple dome. its a dwarf. This time of year you can find asters and mums everywhere.
There are a couple kinds of the sedum. I have also Matrona which is a neat one. Its pink on the flower. Seems Autumn Joys color depends on when you cut it. Mine are waining. They were really red this year and have gone that purplish.. next will be the lovely brown! LOL!
That is gorgeous BB. My sedums went quickly this season seemed they didn't last long at all. I have autumn joy and sedum frosty morn which is more white. They really make for nice fill in arrangements.
Blur or not it is a nice gathering. So nice you still had a few blooms. I must resort to greenery and sticks this time of year.
Well see, thats cuz I brought them container plants into the house!'
Well, hope they send up another run.
What a sweet idea! Same to you and Happy New Year. I have a new doctor and I am looking forward to getting better!!!
Thats grand Sally! Wishing you the best!
Well good for you and now hoping that he gets you back up and running like your ole self real soon!
Thank you, I SURE hope I can keep getting better with this new doctor. All of the others have not been able to help.
