I don't know much about witch hazel! Does it get the flowers first like Magnolia? then the leaves ?
I wonder how much that is in £'s ? lol!
Thanks again for sharing your arrangements, here's a spotty cuppa for you!
Just stick flowers in a vase!
Scary people????
Love that Witch Hazel, so intersting and pretty. Love the spotty cup too!
Blossom, the Amaranthus pair in the vases (above)... they look a bit scary!!! don't you think?? LoL!
Thanks dalfyre! bring your flowers stuck in a vase here anytime, I love seeing everyone's flowers!
Hi Sally, Thanks! The cup fits under the teapot, quite a neat container.. lol.
How are you getting on with moving house, hope your're not overdoing things? I guess it will take a long time packing up all the African Violets and Orchids in your house?.. lol
Silly me! You said scary couple.. I interpreted it as scary people.. WHAAAT was I thinking!! LOL!
It s the heat dear, bloody opressive here. BLOODY OPRESSIVE. It has fried my noodles!

Terri, we will house hunt soon. I have not overdone it and I hope I don't.
LIke that twisted palm leaf. Do you have a photo of it as it was, and then what you did to it, Terri?
Sally - If I recall correctly, you are moving to Houston? I have relatives there - and have visited quite a few times. Good luck in your house hunting!
Thanks, yes, Houston area.
Great arrangement with the palm leaf!
Thanks Dianne and Sally! I will take a pic and show you how I did the palm leaf.
I went to the florists with a friend, to help her choose some flowers for a wealth she is making for someone.
I said to myself, 'you're not buying anything terri, don't even think about it' Well y'know how it is .......
I ended up getting a huge bunch of stuff (mostly foliage).
5 palm leaves, 10 hosta leaves, 3 leukdendron, 3 ginger, 4 protea ,2anthurium, 4 green amaranthus,
2 yellow carnations, 2 red canna leaves and a bunch of yellow statice. Not a bad tropical bunch for £6.00
I would love to have some witch hazel, I love all that contorted kinda stuff, right up my alley.
That is a lot of posies for $6 terri, wish they were that cheap here.
Lovely rose arrangement as well.
Oh lovely terri!
Your colors are stunning!
Remember my "arrangement" above.... well look what the heat did to it.. sort of abstracted in a vase! Looks a tad "picasso" to me or is that Dali? LOL!
Thanks Candee, yes wtich hazel would suit your style of arranging ... buy one today... LOL!
Picasso! Thanks Blossom, are you drying your flowers? I've got quite a collection drying this year!!
Hope to use them for some excitng threads in the dull winter months..... Get your thinking caps on everyone.
Candee, please bring you pretty vase of flowers over here, the one with the Iris leaves.
Get well soon Sally, hope you like your get well soon arrangement Candee has made for you from all of us!
Terri, no, that was a fluke, I plum forgot about them in that vase and they dun dried! LOL
Hey Sally, get well!
Lovely things to see!
Oh, how beautful, thank you for the pretty arrangements!
I really like the way you manipulated that one terri, that should surely cure whatever is ailing Sally!
Merci Beaucoup Candee! I hope so , that would be nice to have Sally well again!
I wish it would happen.
So you are still not quite 100%? Sorry to hear that.
Candee - nice use of the iris leaves. Are they siberian irises? I had not thought to use them before. Looks like another good idea that I can steal. I need to move a clump soon, so I will have to cut the leaves off anyway to make moving easier.
Terri - weren't you supposed to show us how you did the nifty palm twist? Or is it just literally twisting it? and how do you get it to stay? just by sticking the other flowers in between? Inquiring minds want to know. LoL.
I stole the leaf idea from terri a long time ago, matter of fact I have stolen a lot of her techniques and tricks. I never noticed how interesting the siberian leaves were until I actually cut one the are in little groups of 3 connected at the base.
I don't care for bearded iris, but the leaves from them actually for a fan effect, check them out! They are equaly as interesting.
I like that hangin vase BB, where did you ever find that?
Actually its not hangin!! Its tilted on a shelf! LOL!
Well it makes we now want a hangin vase, let's go find one!
LOL!
Did you Candee? I don't remember... lol! Ideas are shared not stolen, sometimes you see something and it fits in with your design idea ..
Pretty fakes Blossom!!
Dianne, sorry been busy! Will post a link to the new leaf thread later tonight!
Hope you are feeling a little better Sally?
Whaat fakes.. those sunnies up there are real! LOL! Faked you out again?!
Yes, Sally do get well!
Terri, let us know the link, it sounds intriguing!
Stealing ideas, not,, thats just flattery!
