Coffee Break #11 - Moms rule!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Bill, your image of yourself gave me a chuckle. Louise, I can't imagine you not looking wonderful even on your worst days. I could care less if you had dirty fingernails!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah for your hummer Jan!!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thanks. Just planted out the angelonia and petunia from 4/4 I had to wait to figure out where to plant them.

I have drank Mich Lite for 20 years. My Motto - I work for beer but only Mich Lite!

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Good for you, Schickenlady! Just grabbing a cup of joe. Busy day unpacking hugh plant deliveries and potting things up.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

hope you like them Jan!

Thank you and thank you. Storm that blue fecus grass is almost gone, moved or what ever you do with stuff. That blue fecus is going, going, going.

I was and still am stupid trying to grow flowers.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I discovered angelonia last year and just love it. Got some purple this year, too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Does angelonia have tattoos and over-sized lips? How about pitts?

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

^_^

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Yes, Schickenlady, flowers do grow on you! I tried growing an ornamental grass, but it just looked like weeds in my bed. Although I have a pretty little Carex, I think it's called Island Brocade.

. It's too durn hot outside. Am going to wait for it to cool down a little before continuing.

Jan, I'm not familiar with it.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

That's a good one, Victor!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I think it is also called 'summer snapdragon'. I've only seen purple or white, but any flower that doesn't need to be deadheaded is a good thing in my book. It grows upright about 12" or so. The flowers are on a stalk like a snapdragon, but the flowers are smaller. They look good in pots.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Jan. Is it full sun?

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Schickenlady, I'm taking a tip from you and enjoying a brewski. Down here we drink the nation's oldest beer, Yuengling, made in Pa.

Actually DSO inspired me. He dropped by for a visit at 11 and has been "Fixing" things ever since, being kept hydrated by brews.

Try Blue Fecus... It will kick ya

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Heehee Victor!!

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

I got a kick out of that!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yuengling, one of hubby's fav....I used to like Rolling Rock till Bud bought them out.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Never tried Yuengling. I am drinking Long Trail as I type. Found it on a trip to VT eight years ago. Finally found a local source but it tastes much more bitter now. Weird.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Randy likes it too

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thanks for putting up a pic, Allison. Mine get some full sun, but mostly part shade.

My dad liked Sam Adams.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Sam Adams is pretty good. Jen, Haven't had a RR in 30 years. Didn't like it much then. Victor, you need to try a Yuengling. Most NYC places have it.

Every now and then Yeungling makes a batch that's a little off, but it is now very popular in the US. It was always pretty inexpensive too, until it became, THE brew of choice. Down here if you order "lager", it's what you get.

Long Trail might be being bottled locally and the water could alter the taste.

I like Jax too.

Nice flowers, Onewish. I have so few really sunny spots.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Awwww, Harper, what a sweet thing to say! Thank you.

Sherrie - anyone who could be cleaned out by a good buyer is not very stupid at growing flowers!!! You go, Girl!!! LOL

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

not a fan of ying ling - or however the spell it - when in doubt sam is best - unless I brew my own

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Wha, Can I interest you in some hops vines????

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

what is the hop?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

O I hurt. Planted out the greenhouse and orders for 8 hours (WITH NO NAP :O) and moved a bunch of stuff too. I balked at rock and container moving. Wha where were you when I needed you ??????

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I'm in. I have hops ^_^

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Wha, I have no idea. I kept finding and pulling them out of my beds all spring. Thought I'd gotten them all, but now I'm finding larger ones coiled around the perennials.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I skipped a lot of posts but I'm back!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Welcome back, Carrie.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Stormyla, my mom grew up in Pottsville, Pa. just a few houses down from the Yuengling family home. She said they invited her into their mansion every halloween to do a song and dance. I heard that the beer used to be a lot better until 5 or 10 years ago. Used to be, they used mountain spring water, but the city (or state) made them switch to city water and now it's not so good.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Could be Sofonisba. I like it a lot. Many folks have been drinking it for years. What is spring water not good for public consumption? Is the Government now ruining beer?? Is nothing safe?? Spring water was always Rolling Rock's claim to fame.
