Just wondering if Imadigger (Eileen) is okay. I just heard on the news that there are fast moving wild fires in Palm Bay, Florida where she lives. Last year dozens of homes were lost to fires in her city.

Eileen, hope all is well at your place ... hoping you can pop in here shortly. Sending thoughts and prayers your way!

I hope that too, Lin! I just posted a box in Ima's
direction and it was loaded with plants.

I too am sending positive thoughts and hopes that Eileen and her home is okay. This same horrific thing happed this past week in eastern Canada, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I think up to 40 homes were destroyed by wild fires.

Eileen posted on another forum that she received the box from Alison and it's now in route to me....so hopefully that means all is well! She didn't mention anything other than hoyas in her message though.

I pretty much got away from hoyas for awhile...as a result some of mine died and the rest look pretty neglected.
At the moment all I have blooming is my kerrii..it and my obovata are my old faithfuls...lol...

Beautiful blooms everyone.
My H. pachyclada, the bottom leaves look a little dehydrated, hopefully it's nothing serious.

OMG Lourdes, how do you get your H. serpens to grow and bloom like that? Especially in Texas, because I hear they like it cool??? Where is it growing and under what conditions...it's awesome :-)

WOW Lourdes...that Serpens is incredible!!!!! How DO you grow it???? Inquiring serpens murderers want to know!

Lourdes,

Wow! I thought I had a great serpens, but yours puts mine to shame.

Paula: I love the colors of that davidcummingii bloom! Really pretty.

2manyplants: Wow, that is gorgeous! I have H. kerrii but no blooms for me yet, now I can't wait!

Lourdes: Wowsers! I agree with everyone, that serpens is Amazing! I'm among the serpens killers ... had a small one but it didn't last long.

My compacta has more blooms open today. I have a question about H. compacta and krinkle 8. I have both. I got the H. compacta about 1 1/2 years ago and all the leaves were real twisted as compacta usually is. Now all of a sudden it seems like a lot of the stems have leaves that aren't twisted so much, more like krinkle 8. Is that normal? I know some types of plants revert back to the "mom" plant as they age. I get so confused with these things ... I see in PF that compacta is also known as krinkle kurl, hindu rope, indian rope etc. I think I will just continue to call this one H. compacta (unless someone ID's it differently. I was getting mixed up with Krinkle Kurl and Krinkle 8.

... it hurts my brain with all these different names, LOL.

(red face here) Thank you all, I got it as a present and was already big. I've had it for about three to four months, it keeps growing fast and has put out tons of umbels. I have on a window facing east and when the a/c kicks in, the plant gets the cold air, I also have a fan facing it, since this room gets hot because of the computers. I water it once a week but I spray it every other day twice with water, and once with MSU half strength.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it.

Well, you're clearly doing something right since in 3-4 months it could easily have started to fall apart and go downhill, but instead it's thriving and putting out more umbels...good for you!

Also, I really wish I had friends who gave me gifts like that :-)

Thank you Shelley, you are right I killed a couple of small H. serpens before in no time.
I'm very thankful to my fiend for his present.

I have a bunch blooming but haven't had a lot of time to take any new photos. I did get this shot today of my Imperialis, which opened a day or so ago.

Very nice! I'm still waiting for my imperialis to grace me with some blooms! The plant is growing, and is a decent size, but no sign of any bloom spurs.

A first timer for me: Hoya sp. IPPS 7203 (aff. vitellina). Smells like newly cut grass starting to dry... or something like that!
