Spring Epis
thats what I have done wren. But some of them I have cut like 4 times, and they are down to little nubs. There are a couple of them that I have lost completely. They have had a couple days to dry out here, but, the forcast for the next 10 days dosent look very promising. I have actually been thinking about getting a shelf and bringing them in, but, I don't have much light in my trailor at all, and my trailor is so tiny, and so full of other stuff that I'm really not sure where I would have room. I think they would probably be off better outside, because I don't think they would get enough light in here. I know they like shade...but...
It's STILL raining here! Just for the fun of it I sat a 5 gal bucket out in the rain yesterday morning. I just took a yard stick to measure and there's 8" of water in the bucket!! I bet I could have filled three or four buckets if I'd thought of that when it first started to rain on Monday! It sure would be great to have a rain barrel to collect all this water for future use on my plants. From weather reports, we are supposed to have rain through the middle of next week! Looks like our tropical rainy season couldn't wait until June 1st and has arrived early! The boat sitting on a trailer in the back driveway hasn't been used in awhile but it may come in handy if this keeps up!
I took a bunch of potted plants that were extremely over watered from all the rain and sat them on piles of old newspapers to soak up some of the excess water. A couple I am getting ready to take out of the pots entirely and sit on the papers for a little while before repotting in fresh soil.
Lin Jeremy is going to have a workshop on making rain barrel next month. He is up here in Jax and the info is running around somewhere on the Florida Forum.
lismil do you have any plastic to through over them? I have a 1 inch piece that I set on top of the soil in a pot. It took a long time but it has put up a stem and is rooted. so there is hope. Better not enough light for a few days than to much water.
