Chantell - could it possibly be a Chinese Wisteria Alba?

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

I'm clueless, I tell you...but YOU know that already....LOL

Chichester, NH(Zone 5b)

Chantell looks like it could be a Locust Tree

Love your Jasmines.....I made jasmine tea yesterday with some of my blooms, delicious. I can't get enough of their fragrance. I think someone needs to invent some other varieties, just so we can continue the addiction.

Gonna have to look at that link Samantha...you're the 2nd person to say the same thing...funny all these years never noticed them before...ugh

Miami, FL(Zone 10a)

astcgirl, curious about how you make jasmine tea? does it have to be a specific kind of jasmine?

i love jasmine especially confederate jasmine.

Candela I just followed the simple receipe from Tops, it's not as strong but I just love it any way I can get it. Here's some interesting info on Jasmine: (scroll down to see how they make the jasmine tea)

http://www.toptropicals.com/html/toptropicals/articles/shrubs/jasmin_facts.htm

I actually use Green Tea with Jasmine tea bags (from the store) in a bottle of cold water as my drink during the day. Love the smell and taste of it cold but not so much hot.

Stunning....amazing...exquisite...mercy, what other word to describe this one's scent? Rec'd this little (2") Bouvardia longiflora in a Logees order a couple of weeks ago. I have to say, I've hesitated ordering from them before - only due to so many of the plants being in those 2" pots - that and I've, personally, found some of their fragrance descriptions to be...well not how I'd described them (yes, I know everyone's taste is different and perception varies) i.e. they describe their Hoya bella as "emit a fragrance so sweet that children will ask who is eating candy" I've had my gorgeous Bella for 6 years now - she's blessed me with blooms yearly...and I've never detected (regardless of the time of day/night) anything more then a VERY subtle scent. Logees had a few other plants that I have with descriptions of very fragrant - same thing...I thought to myself - hmmmm not so much. But THIS Bouvardia longiflora? OMG...only one bloom is opened right now (another bud is getting ready) and the scent in my kitchen each night - just lovely!! Enough to make you look forward to doing the dishes, I tell you!!! Nicely wafts as well! AND the blooms are long lasting - I wish I'd kept track but this one bloom's been open...I'd say for a week now. For those that don't have one - Logees has seem on sale now ($1 off normal price) for $8.95!

Who doesn't love honeysuckle? Purchased Goldflame from Walmart (of all places) last year. Not sure if there's any scent...need to go down and take a sniffer while they're blooming...

Amazing pics, candela! Much as I love a beautiful fragrance - I'm fascinated by the "odd" blooms as well!! I didn't believe it until I experienced it first hand - but some of the orchids don't have their fragrance till day 3 after opening - odd isn't it?

Miami, FL(Zone 10a)

i never new that. the funny thing is i had never smelled a fragrance on it before. it smelled kind of like a brug to me so i thought it was one in the yard but took another smell and it was definately from the orchid. i have two of them next to each other.

Wow!! I'm definitely jealous - oh, to be able to grow them outdoors like that....

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

Candela, you just reminded me of the first time I ever saw Dancing Ladies orchid in Belize. It was pointed out to me that it is fragrant! Don't think I would have linked the smell with the little flowers, either.

Love all the pics, and Chantell now I need to have a Bouvaridia. Oh, thank you God for our fragrance nymph!

Here is a picture of Aglaia odorata.....tiny flower, big carry of scent. Don't stick you nose in it- stand 20 feet away!

i think I have that one but nowhere near blooming. i'm jealous

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

On my "want list" (surprise, surprise) - I saw that pic on facebook and it reminded me that I should look for one of those next month when I'm down in FL. Hmmm....better start composing a "need" list eh? LOL

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

You're coming to Florida?!?!?!?!

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Thought you knew that?????

Sequim, WA(Zone 8a)

Yup, we shore is - I'm dragging Chantell with me to Naples for a week of sun, fun and plant shopping!

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

Chantell, you got me really intrigued with this Bouvardia! Try to describe, what does it smell like?!

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Oh my....I think the description you gave of YOUR brug would describe it....it's jasmine and gardenia all rolled up together yet not exactly...spicy notes - an expensive perfume scent...trust me...you'll LOVE it!!!!

Candela, you must have such a beautiful garden! I honestly don't know why people rave so much about the CA climate... OK it's nice, but Florida is PERFECT! : )

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Was gonnna say, now Roberta....NO ones complains about living in San Diego....seriously!!! Hugs!

candela - your yard must be amazing!!! Sadly I don't think we'll be down that far but truth be known I'm geographically challenged so I'll let Bec chime in...LOL

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

Chantell, you will be due west of us, a good hour and some change either way, I think. Miss Candela is south of me and I am north of her. No, I didn't know about the trip- if it was a facebook thing there are a lot of notifications that could get lost in the mix. Potted up lots of babies today. The rain went everywhere but to us last week. :-(

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

LOL - nah, not a facebook thing...some how I thought I'd mentioned it in a message one of the two places...who knows...brain doesn't always retain things...so sad...

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

Just some plumeria. Thank goodness for the rain we are FINALLY getting.

Beautiful...love that play of light and shadows!!! Is that Celedine?

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

I have no idea whether or not it has a cultivar name. It is common down here- plain old pink, yellow and white. Pink should be opening up any day now. This is the one that smells sweet and also faintly of buttered popcorn to me.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

My 'Zephirine Drouhin' climbing rose is in full swing now, wafting sweet scent through the back door. :-)

TB Iris 'English Cottage' has a rich, sweet scent... definitely "grape kool aid"

Also, my peonies are about to open their blooms! I got one bloom last year from 'Karl Rosenfeld' (red) that smelled great, and I know my "no id" white one is smellariffic (hasn't bloomed since I divided & moved it, but I see buds this year), and the third variety in my little "hedge" planting is 'Sarah Bernhardt' (pink), also supposed to be very fragrant.

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Always the "whites" with the great scents...sounds beautiful, Jill!!! Although I wasn't overwhelmed with scent of Sarah Bernhardt...gave that baby 4 years to do something...when she did bloom is was, at least in my yard, a more subtle scent.

Can't wait for your Pink F4F - love the scent of the Plumies...sadly I'll have to wait till summer's end for any of mine - although I didn't let them go completely dormant this year...we'll see....

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

Well, the white came before the pink!

Beautiful Candela!!! Love those bruggie blooms!! I've got to get my pics uploaded - I have a zillion at least...LOL

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Finally some pics....here's the Nicotiana I was raving about...without a doubt one of my top favs for scent...
