We came from here:

I have to say that this is probably one of my favorite container gardens these days...I didn't think the Ornamental Kale would survive this long in the heat!

I have to say that my container garden is turning quickly into a container jungle! hehe

I've been keeping this Oxalis in a more shady spot and it just keeps getting darker in color and huge!

I found a nice little spot for my new Ponytail Palm amongst pots of Kiwi Cordyline, Elephant ears and crown of thorns...

A very colorful combo of Iresine, variegated sweet potato vine, ground orchids (not blooming yet) and coleus...

These are the kind of pots I really like...This one was planted about 6 months ago and except for a little trimming, it's really kept it's shape. These Hawaiian Snow bush plants are too cute! Planted with iresine and joyweed.

Well here's the everchanging stacked container this season - doing fairly well planted with various herbs and petunias/dusty miller (and what ever I've had left over) on top!

Hey, Kat!

Just doing a "drive-by" - STILL admiring your plant compositions and photos. Thanks for sharing your "recipes"!

Denise < ---- still searching for the definitive plant for my "head" planter this summer.

Port Charlotte, FL(Zone 10a)

Hey Denise - how are you doing? Hows this for some cute hair?

My first Stepanotis bloom of the season! It's funny - I have 2 plants - one variegated and one non. The non-variegated has no leaves but is just loading with blooms. The variegated is loaded with leaves, but no blooms! Love any I can get though!

Last but not least! I am so looking forward to these guys ripening! I have 2 plants in containers and I think I'm going to have lunch in the yard with a salt-shaker when the first one ripens! LOL

Amazing as usual...You have the coolest plants down there. I want to just send you $$$ and say go shopping for me and ship them north...LOL. We don't have stuff like that at our nurseries or the box stores...I've never even heard of 1/2 the plants you have and I want most of them once I look them up...

You create some incredible eye-candy. Thanks!

Chalfont, PA(Zone 6b)

holy heck. those are some beautiful containers. The first one with the kale is just gorgeous! I'm going to have to try something like that this fall. Absolutely lovely. Very inspirational.

you've been busy! May I post here? I was at a nursery today and saw this modified version of the pot tower. I thought it was really neat because instead of using same pot shape, diff. sizes, the creater used different shapes/different sizes.

Taken w/ my CP. This is the bottom half of the tower

I'm not big on tire planters, but I found these pretty classy. The website is here: http://www.recycledcreations.com/

This is a pic of the one my friend just purchased.

The tire is turned inside out and then cut accordingly. This person is quite creative. It must be a bear to cut that tire. Here is a view of the planter interior. I think the "toucan" planter would look so great in a tropical setting.

Vossner...Those are really cool pot planters...I wish I could remember who makes them, as somebody here on DG plants them extensively. I also love the tire art! I used to have a couple of geese that sat on my lawn made out of tires that you would swear were real.

You know, when you plant everything together, sometimes you just don't know how it's all going to grow together...This guy with the Kagaroo Paws is turning out quite nicely...a month later.

Chocolate...OMG, I had the pleasure of visiting Alaska last year. I had no idea that you guys could grow anything! I couldn't get over the container plants! Of course this was in Southern Alaska - the Riviera!

I'm in love with your ice!!!

Pretty nice containers in Sitka...

Yes, southern AK IS the Riviera! I'm about 400+ miles north in the Interior. Much colder, but it's amazing what we can grow with a little extra effort. It's just really hard to get stuff since the local vendors only bring in the "usual", common stuff and often times it's like pulling teeth to get a vendor in the Lower 48 to ship here...despite the fact 99.9% of the time, everything arrives perfectly fine as long as the receiver has a P.O. box. I've gotten hundreds of live plants, bulbs and tubers with no problem.
Unfortunately, I've determined I don't take many full pot or full yard pics. A goal for this year--more pot shots...LOL. I have a million unlabeled individual blooms...Here's Arctic Queen. She's in a pot so it counts as a container and I thought it was appropriate.
I've got 12 Lion's Tail growing in the garage from seed. They reached 8' last year. Going to see if I can find Kangaroo Paws right now...LOL

KatG, surely have loved seeing your containters. Would you please let me know all the "ingredients" in your first photo, the one with the kale? It is stunning. LiseP

KatG, your containers and your home are stunning! Thanks for sharing.

nice container combos

Morgantown, WV(Zone 6a)

Okay yall........I am trying to search but not having the right words....I am not getting the right results.

I need ideas for four containers on the front porch [shade tolerant] ....is there a good thread that discusses shade containers?

I have some purple fountain grass sprouting that I thought about putting in the larger pot.... just wasnt sure how well the ornamental grasses did in the containers.

I absolutely can NOT believe how very smart all yall are here. There is so much information I have absorbed.....folks think I know what I am talking about. :O

Here is a picture of them in the fall with some annuals.

Heny...Ornamental grasses have always done well in my pots, but some just grow too eagerly. When I first planted this planter I included some Red Flax Grass and it was pretty, but got out of hand and I recently pulled it. The Liriope does good though and doesn't become invasive...

Chocolate...That "Arctic Queen" is absolutely amazing! Is that a clematis? I am so intrigued by your climate...would you please post some more photo's of what you can grow?

Port Charlotte, FL(Zone 10a)

This is just too pretty not to share! I am totally amazed at this plant - It's just amazing to watch, a new set of blooms about every 3 days. When it's not in bloom, it has gorgeous foliage. (Giant Apostle Plant - Walking Iris)

Yesterday's blooms...

I don't think I shared this SCARY pic on this thread before...

It's been a little windy around here lately and I think Ziggy is just trying to keep his nose from blowing off! hahaha

Jeanne? Where are you? Haven't seen you for a while and hope you're doing well!

Port Charlotte, FL(Zone 10a)

LiseP: Thanks for the compliments - In that planter, there are 2 ornamental kales, 2 clumps of Marguerita daisies, a foxtail fern in the center, some purple allysum and a plant that some call Cuban Oregano (the variegated one). It's highly herbally scented, It grows like crazy! I've been pinching it off and replanting it!

I'm loving this white Lobelia...
