Good night everyone!!!!Sweet dreams
Good Morning Everyone! It's Monday morning, the sun is peeping out over the trees, and it is going to be one GLORIOUS day here in northeast Florida. I'm going to play in the dirt again today, sit a while with a big glass of ice tea and just enjoy being in my yard instead of behind the wheel of that bus with all those children behind me. lol,,,seriously though, I love my job, it's just by the time we get a break, we REALLY need the break!
I hope you all have a real good day today, and may God take care of any problems that get in your path.
Good morning Marilyn!
Another cheerful greeter our Marilyn ^_^
Hope the birds keep you company today as you play! Do you know that Phyllis too drives the school bus? Now she's in management :D
Coffee's on, get regular sistahs.. so it's oatmeal cookies!!
See me later.. have a terrific start to a good week everyone!
Morning everyone, on my third cup of coffee. Gonna be yucky again today, but a little warmer and no frost in the forecast, maybe spring finally got here.
I get to start back to work tomorrow, yeah! So got to get a bunch of Coop plants in their pots today and haul a few things out to gather the rain that is expected later.
I hope everyone had a wonderful and Blessed Easter. Ya'll have a great day.
Morning sistahs...
Gonna be another busy day today... Don woke up at 3am, cause he thought he had to leave at 4am... got a voice mail from maintenance dept. to tell him he didn't have to be there so early... so, now he has to leave around the normal time of 9:30... GOOD... now I have time to fix him a lunch of some of this left over food from yesterday.
Yesterday, he brought up some seats from the boat... today, I'm setting everything aside and going to start taking the vinyl off them, and begin the re upholstery... wish me luck... I've never done this before.
Didn't want to do it this time, but Don blind sided me on this one.
Mike's got track practice at 10am, so I'll be taking him to the school and waiting for him to finish... it's 17 miles away, that's 34 miles round trip. Takes 15-20 mins to drive that one way. So, watching the practice just makes sense.
Better get up and get breakfast over with, and make Don's lunch, and get dressed, and get myself together to get this day started... see ya'll later.
Good morning everyone!
Marilyn, thanks for the coffee. Jaye thanks for the cookies!
Hope you all have a great day.
Looks like it will be another nice day outside here too. I think the only thing I need to plant are some zinnia seeds in the back of my angel garden. I think that will make a nice back border for that area. I am waiting on some plants to arrive from the coop's, hopefully this week. I ordered some hibiscus, from buried treasure, and from drapelady. Can't wait till they get here. Pots are full of soil, just waiting for them.
Guess that is all I will be doing, so off to watch the hummers for a bit.
You all have a great day!
LK
Oh Linda, you have Hummers already? It will be at least another week or so before they make their way up here, guess I better make sure I have nectar for them. Can't wait to see Bob and Bing again, I have had the same Hummers show every year. Bob has this bump on his beak and Bing has a funny shaped wing, that's how I know it's them.
Back to reading the updates.
(((Stacey, Cody)))) We're here for you!
I have had them since the end of Feb!
LK

Morning.
It sure was good to see Stacey post even if it was just once. But at least we know she will be back with us soon. Hang in there, Stacey each day will get a little better. Just remember we are HERE for you.......^_^
It's suppose to be in the low 70's today. I can't get motivated to go to Curves this morning so I will go tomarrow. So I'm heading out to the hot tub.
Hey Robyn, you just described two hummers that I have. One has a funny looking little bump on the end of his beak, and the other the left wing doesn't fold back in when it's sitting and eating. I've had my hummers for months. I don't think they even left because I would see it flying around when I was in the hot tub. I have a feeded hanging outside of my living room window. I watch them all day long. There are 3 of them now who fight over the feeder. The other morning Rick and I were watching the news and this huge black and yellow bird landed on the hummer feeder. Dang it!! I didn't have my camera set up, I'm out of film. Decided to look the bird up, I think it is a Bullock's Oriole. Boy was it beautiful. This makes the second time I've seen it land on the feeder.

Good for you Donna. Won't be long now and you will be "home".
Has anyone seen those cement pillows that Fish-Knees made they are so cute. Reminds me that have an old bed display from when I worked at K-Mart back in the "90's", think I will bring it down here and make me a "Flower Bed" and put some of those pillows in there.
Cindy, I take my feeders and pull every other flower tube off so the orioles can drink too. I also painted blue around the bigger hole so they can see them better. They share the feeders with the hummers and don't fight with them. I love watching both. I have 3 in front that I can watch from the front room. 2 by the end of the garage and 3 so I watch from the back of the house through the dining room doors. Taking those plastic flowers off the feeders also helps Bob to eat, he can get his beak in easier.
I have a question...has anyone ever painted a bowling ball for yard art? I have one and I'm not sure if I need to sand it or prime it before I hit it with the spray paint.
I'm so jealous...our hummers won't be here until Mother's Day. :O(
We also have a hooded oriole that shares our feeder with the hummers.
He is very pretty.

Joyce, is the ball rubber or plastic? If it's an one of those old black ones, you may bea ble to just rough it up and then apply a primer first before painting. I don't know about the plastic ones. I have a purple one that I'm going to mosaic, one of these days. You might want to go to that forum where they have been decorating bowling balls.
My hummer feeder is a dish with holes. Hmm must see what I can do with the other feeders I have.
Good Morning All I have been so bussy I forgot when I told the company when to turn off the computer so If you Don't see me for a few days that will be why well going to HD and get paint need to get At least 1 wall painted cause the cable guy is coming on Tuesday So you all have a great day and will check in when I can
Flaming Kim
Hey LK I made a bird bath that way but I don't have it I did use the wrong paint so when I make it again next winter I will take pictures
I glued 3 and put the big saucer on the top for the water to sit in there
LK, that is cool. Now I want to make one. Need to get this Barbie doll house done, first. I think I will work on the today.
Thanks Cindy.
Kim, that would make a cute birdbath too!
How long does it take for the gourd seeds to come up. I soaked them for a day, then put them in soil? About a week ago. Maybe soon, I can see something peeking up from the ground?
LK
Very pretty Linda, I took my old bowling ball, a rubber one, and just spray painted it with clear polyurethane and it looks great, I'll hasve to get a pic of it.
Did you nick your seeds first, they are hard to get going if you don't nick and soak. But once they start look out they will take off.
They are fun to grow.
It doesn't take very long. I like to sprout mine on a damp paper towel, before planting that way I know the seeds are good. I think it takes about a week for them to sprout when I do it that way. Which ones did you plant? I'm thinking about doing some apple gourds that I received in a seed swap.
I've never nicked mine. Maybe I should try that and see how fast they sprout.
I took a couple of each ones that I have, so hopefully they will start soon. I will take the rest of them and try the wet paper towel method. That way I can see what is going on. I will nick them also.
Thanks for the help.
LK
Good Morning Everyone!!
Stacey it was great to see you post, you know we're all here for you if you need or want us.
Getting ready to go into a staff meeting, just wanted to read up on what everyone is doing, looks like everyone is busy busy busy! I tried to vote for you BJ last night but couldn't figure it out, I'll try again later today or maybe this evening, I was trying to do it when I was so tired I couldn't even type right lol!
Have a great day!
Oh yea, love that globe LK
How do you nick a seed? I've read that several times but I just throw them in the ground anyway.
I take a pair of toenail clippers and just barely nick the sides not too deep in a v shape and then soak in h2o2 for a day and in a couple days of planting they start to sprout. If you have a dremel you could sand away a small area to get to the inside just don't hurt the inside of the seed or nothing will grow. From start to sprout is usually about 4 days and they seem to grow faster for me too, the shell of the seed falls off faster too. Hope this makes sense.
I've done to daylily seeds the why Robin explains. When you see white, stop.
Morning Deborah. How was your week-end? How is that precious GD doing? Any more pictures please?
LK
Purpbtfly what a great idea! I have an old wrought iron that is broken, have been waiting on the boys to fix it for me, but think I'll go your route. That would be a neat conversation piece and I know my girlfriends would love it! Now to get the pillow molds. hmmm, need to do a bit more sewing I think, in order to afford that project. (my sewing is my 'mad' money. lol)
I started some egg gourd seeds that I received in a spring swap, and already now have them in the ground and waiting for those eggs to show up! I love gourds.
Also am trying to start some dipper gourds but I'm afraid my seed was to old. They have been in the start cups seems for weeks now, and nothing showing in there. I did soak them, but didn't nick them. I have a few more left, think I'll start them on the paper towel so I can see what's happening. And I also have some apple gourd seed I want to start. I need to do that real soon as our weather will start getting hot now anyday. seems we go straight from a week of spring into the heat of summer.
Also want to paint a few of my yard angels, give them a new face lift for a change and get another tipsy pot done in my sitting corner out there. Have the pots ready, just need to get another rod. Went to pick one up Saturday but the store closed on before I made it to the area where they keep them. I had time if I hadn't stopped in the darn garden center first. lol,,,,can't resist the new garden center our new Ace has.
It's off to do some planting and painting. You ladies have a great day and I will check back in soon.
Thanks Heavenscape for adding me to the list.
Cindy, where is the link to those pillows?
Sounds interesting...
LK
I think this is it.

Yep that's it.
Those look so pretty, but I just don't have anyplace to put them. Maybe a project for next year?
LK
OH ya all need to check this out. So many cool things to make with old stuff. Was looking for a picture of a wrought iron flower bed I saw.

Good Morning everyone!!!
Thanks Cookie,i feel a little bit better knowing he will be home tomorrow.
LK.. you just gave me a terrific idea where to grow some zinnias. You were going to plant them as backdrops for your angel trumpets.. I have just the place for some as perfect backdrops when my asiatic lilies are all spent!!
Please welcome Marilyn sistahs! We are all on first name basis here.. and most of our names are in parenthesis next to our DG handles. Hmm.. another Floridian.. I bet Maid M will be glad!!
Hi Cody, Robin, Deborah, Cindy, BJ, Crissy.. I'll catch up with y'all later once I'm through with the EVIL word!!
