Spring CS Round - Up Trades #2

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks everyone!

Charlene, I'll get you tagged for that hanging basket.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Thank you Auntanne, Cannagirl and lovedinggin. I appreciate your response. I look forward to the trades.

P.S.
I am collecting bibles for the residents of the apartment fire in Orange on March 28th. There were 48 seniors and disabled people who lost their home and most of them lost all of their belongings.

If you have an extra bible (especially large or giant print) I will gladly deliver it to Orange. Most of these residents are seniors and for the most part use the Old King James Version. Other versions will be accepted and delivered also. Just bring it to the RU and I will take it to Orange.

Thanks in advance,
Charlene

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

Charlene, I'll bring some Bibles for you to give out. What a wonderful, thoughtful person you are to help out the elderly in your area.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Got you down, Dolly. Are you coming to the Jacksonville RU? Whenever people are coming to both, I may end up taking some things there instead of CS.

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Guys I just found yesterday that the Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow (Brunfelsia) had babies ;-)
They are small now (about 2" or so), but if they're a bit bigger next weekend I'll pot them up to bring to the swap.
I was both surprised and tickled.

I spent the day yesterday moving plants around to make room for my new plants from the CS RU (yea!!), then spread some mulch, then mowed, then showered, ate and PLOPPED! lol I felt like an old farmer... it got dark and I got sleepy! hehehe

So needless to say I didn't finish getting my plants potted for the swap. I have more than half of them done, and some plants will just do better dug just before I leave (Cannas, Lilies, Agave, etc.). I do want to get the Bulbine potted though. I want them better established before I give them to you. Same with the Rootbeer Plant. Oh, and the baby Blue Salvias I potted have BLOOMS! lol In 4" pots no less! Cool!

If anyone is close enough to Conroe, or comes near in the month of May, let me know... there's a NEAT plant sale every weekend in May at Hope Farms. It's awesome and her plants are SO REASONABLE! Some $4 & $5 for 1 gal. pots. Cool stuff too, and so healthy. She pots up plants she's growing and sells them. (And then if you're that close, you could drive a couple more miles and come see my garden ;-))

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Cannagirl, thank you for the bibles. I actually don't live that close to these residents who are needing the bibles. My mom lived in the apartments when they burned. So, naturally, I would take an interest in helping them out. Mom has found an apartment close to my sister which is also closer to me now. It is a 3 1/2 hour drive for me to get to Orange. She will only be one hour and forty-five minutes from me now.

The bible idea came up from my own need of a new one. (need bigger print,LOL). I then realized that all of those residents would be needing new ones also. The large print ones are more expensive than the regular ones.

Any bibles would be appreciated and I will be going back down to Orange soon, to get them delivered.

Charlene

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Cajun2 I lost my yesterday, today, and tomorrow may I have 1 please?

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

Catching up...Charlene, that's okay. The last Chocolate Daisy dug up is sulking, but I think it'll be okay by then.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Trishann, I found some more plants on your list that I would love to have, if possible:
White Texas Star Hibiscus
Bower Vine
Mandevilla Laxa

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Hey guys'n'gals...I'm adding a few more items to our have list, as soon as I get through with this post.
I'll have:
5 - Honey Bee Blue Agastache (really more violet/purple - see pic)
2 - Flatwoods Plum (I can't remember it's real name at the moment but I'll post it later)

I'm going to divide some American Germander (Teucrium candense)
if anyone's interested. It is a flowering plant that is native to Texas and other parts of the US. I should be able to get several starts. JLMK

Lee, I'd love to have an agastache.

Iola, TX(Zone 8b)

Ok Patrob, got you down... Not sure the bower vine is going to make it... I will start more seeds today just incase...

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

WTG...........I would like a couple of your Honey Bee Blue Agastache, please, if you have enough.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Lee, I have posted a photo of a plant that I got last year. Could it be a honey bee blue agastache? It has a soft downy feel to the leaves. It has a strong minty fragrance when you crush the leaves. I haven't seen it flower as of yet. Also, it has multiplied with lots of little stems all with roots.

Got you down for a Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow, Sandy.

I was really starting to sweat it over my Thai Basil... they were just NOT emerging yet and I KNEW I had them coming. I think I told you the hail storm beat them to death. It's been so cool here, I guess it wasn't warm enough for them. Whew! Finally today I found the 1/2 dozen or so I promised. They are itty bitty right now (about 1" tall!) but I'm hoping in two weeks they'll be big enough for you. I will wait another week to pot them up to give them time to get a bit healthier to survive transplanting.

I also found today that I have a 'litter' of Black & Blue Salvia if anyone's interested.

Does anyone have Heuchera/Coral Bells? Horsemint? Fragrant White Yarrow?
I'd love some of these if you'd be willing to share. You could even Dmail me if you don't want to post it here. I'm about to get desperate for these... (lol) May end up having to break down and buy them!

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

cajun...my mom will be bringing some white yarrow. I'll make sure we mark you down for some.

:) Kim

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Sweezel, May I get some of your 'Black and Blue' Salvia and
one of each of the roses except Tropicanna and Don Juan? I see your want list is very small, but I would love to bring you something. How about a bag of mushroom compost?
Charlene

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Charlene, were you asking ME for the BB Salvia? I didn't know Sweezel was coming to our RU. Is she? If so, that'd be cool.
Maybe you meant to post this on the E TX RU thread??

Either way, I'd be happy to bring you a BB Salvia ;-)
~ Carole

ooh! and awesome, Kim! that'd be great! Do you know if it's the aromatic foliage? That's the variety I'm really really wanting ;-) Used to have it in my garden in Benbrook and really miss it.

And these I still need responses please:

2) Throneofyord - I see you have me down for the LA Iris - thank you! What do YOU want?
3) Linda, do you still have me down for a Mexican Milkweed? I don't have it on my list, but I'm potting up trees for you along with tthe Mexican Herb and multiplying onions.

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Well, I responded earlier and apparently it didn't go through. I haven't dug up the Butterfly Weed seedlings, but I'm pretty sure that I have plenty.

Anne

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't know if I'm going to have any Maudie Malcolm cannas or not. I doubt it. They haven't come up and everything else is.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Charlene, could you bring me an iris for my bed, please? Any iris will be fine as long as it's from you.

Eyes, I have you down for the Honey Bee Blue seedlings on the ET thread. Do you need multiples? If not, you will be happier going with Lee's plant, because my seedlings really are still tiny so far.

My seeds came from the plant he gave me last spring. It bloomed all summer until first frost. Lovely right next to Patricia's flame acanthus. The bees and hummers were in heaven.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

auntanne may I have
butterfly weed seedlings
and the rooted cutting of a noid brug that had broken off

Cajun2 may I please have some BB sage

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Pb, I just added you an iris on the ET thread. I also asked for HB agastache. Either RU will be fine. LOL this gets an old woman crazy, just trying to keep these threads straight.

Charlene

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Auntanne may I have one of your pink butterfly weed seedlings? I see you haven't picked anything from me as of yet. Would you care for a bag of mushroom compost? I bought a truck load of it for my garden and I could bag you up some for yours if you would like.

Charlene

Karlae I think I may have enough seedlings of the butterfly weedk, but they;re yellow not pink. However I will have to look.

Anne

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Karlae Can I get a cutting of the peach El Capitalio? Mine died last winter.

Anne

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Thank you, Linda ;-)

And thanks, Anne - what can I bring YOU though??

Charlene, I already have you down for a BB Salvia ;-D

Sandy, I'll add a BB Salvia for you too. Can I please add to mine a Cape Honeysuckle, Confederate Jasmine, Yellow Flag Iris, and Cherry Plum Prune? And is your Ruellia malacosperma the shorter variety? If so, I'd like one of those please.

Jim, I have you down for the Toad Lilies. May I please have one or two Black magic Taro?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Jim, I'd love to have a 'Black Magic' taro and an 'Imperial' taro. I hope there are plants on my list that you would like.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Cajun
I'm so full up on things right now it's ridiculous. I'm giving tons of ice plant cuttings to people on freecycle just because I feel so bad about throwing them away. I promised myself to just replace the 3 hibs that died last winter and that was it. It took me all day to empty my garage this spring. So just taking these seedling helps me out a lot. lol

Anne

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

LOL Anne! I know how you feel. I have certain things running rampant in my garden that I'll be bringing and trying to force on people (lol) - hate to compost them! I'm even taking some to work and STILL have tons!

Ok this is getting to be like work (LOL) - and I even took the day off to get a bunch of stuff done! I've GOT to get out there and pot up the rest of the stuff for the swap. I think I still have time for everything to settle in before trading so they look good.

But I THINK/hope/pray I have everybody down right now. PLEASE look and be sure...

Still looking for the following:

Burr Oak/Mossycup Oak seedlings/saplings
Shumard Red Oak seedlings/saplings? (or acorns??)
Japanese Red Maple seedlings/saplings
Artemisia 'Powis Castle' (plants)
Heuchera/Coral Bells (plants OR seeds)
Horsemint (Monarda punctata) (plants OR seeds)
Variegated plants (any really, for a friend I owe big time)
Miniblind slats

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I have some Salvia lyrata 'purple knockout' that I'll be happy to dig up and pot for someone. They're happy and healthy, and spreading like crazy. :-) Here's a photo of it. Ignore the weeds... I had this bed weeded last week and then the rains came. Such is life. :-)

Sorry... My original post said they were heucheras, because that is where I remembered planting my heucheras. I thought they had all died (most things from that particular coop did, sadly), so I was happy when these popped up! The fact that these are actually Salvia lyrata explains why their blooms don't look the way I expected heucheras' to look! LOL

So... I apologize for the confusion, and I'd be happy to dig up some Salvia lyrata 'purple knockout' for anyone who would like some. :-)

Anne since you have so much ice plant I will take some of each if you still have any.

variegated baby rose (pink)
regular pink
yellow one.
one with the larger (for an ice plant) fuschia
one with little lavender colored ones.

Are these easy to root? I have not had any in yrs and was not really into plants then.

PLEASE EVERYONE make sure I have you down for what you ask for. And if it would help what I ask you for. This is my first time with so many plants. My head is spinning.

And I haven't started trading for the East Texas RU. I may just go and visit. LOL
