Spring CS Round - Up Trades #2

Bryan, TX

Charlenesplants, I would like to trade your request for plantation rose verbena for some of your angelonia, pink or purple or both, whatever you have will be fine.

Thanks, Geneva

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Guys I know 4 o'clocks are old fashioned & pretty common but I have these things popping up all in one bed and making nice tubers. Seems a shame not to share them... they really are a pretty pink and white mix.

I wish you were coming to Jacksonville...I sure would love some of those!! One of my all time favorites along with MG's...

"eyes"

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Me too, Eyes! I'm thinking about starting a little bed where they can take over and I don't care. I have several areas that could use some life that don't even come close to the rest of my garden. They don't require much either so they'd be fine off in a corner somewhere.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Carole, if you have some extra 4 o'clocks, I'd be happy to take them to "eyes" the following week-end. This spring I have gone crazy and am going to all three RU's.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

I am adding redbud seedlings to my list. I left them off at first until I knew for sure where they were. Can't tell until they get leaves.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I had a bed of pink and yellow (same flower) 4 o'clocks. The hummingbirds took it over as their own. My little nephew was standing on the steps and they would come out and look at him eye to eye. It was really cool. I was happy to see that the flowers are coming up again.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I would love some of those 4 o'clocks Cajun2. Please.

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Excellent! I'll put you guys down for some.
Just in from mowing with the little push mower (even on 2 acres, the Husqy just can't 'go' EVERYwhere!

Getting my shower, grabbing a bite and then I'll be back to work on my trades.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you Patrob...Cajun2 you think that's possible?

"eyes"

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I finally got to dig up some cannas. Some of them were mushy and I cut that stuff off. But some where just a little dark, but still firm. Are they still good? BTW I found a worm crawling around in one. YUCK! It wasn't an earth worm. And they've been multiplying for awhile so there were really long pieces. How do I know where to cut it? One was more than a foot long.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Mary Lee, just cut off mushy stuff and let the rest dry. If there are eyes, the rhizomes will grow.

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

eyes... you lost me... anything's possible! lol

but yeah, if you mean me working on my trades after my shower & after dark, i just mean on here ;-)

otherwise... i've updated my list and i'm going to bed now!

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Patrob, so I cut off all the old roots too, leave the brown firm parts and (I can't remember what you said) cover them with dirt or sawdust?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

I'd cover with soil and water when they seem dry.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Ok, got it Patrob. Thanks.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Carole, "eyes" was talking about my offer to take some of your 4 o'clocks to the East TX RU for her if you have extas.

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

oh sure, no problem that I can see. I had one tuber dug up for over a week & laying on the ground... It's still there and thriving - reaching for the sun! So I'm sure if transported to another swap a week later, it'll be just fine!

and by that i don't mean i plan to send eyes the one i've had laying in my garden a week outta the ground ;-) i'll wait & dig her up a couple of fresh ones!

Sylvia, I'd love to have some of the larger decorated pots. Tall plant stands would also be nice. What can I bring you? Do you want more trees?

Charlene

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Sylvia, I'll for sure get you some Asparagus Fern for one of your decorative pots if I may? (could i possibly get the one with the Sun on it??? pretty please??)

If that's your 'project' it sure looks better than mine cleaned out!!!! Good Job!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I would love to have some of your plant stands and the blue and white pot on the shelf, the green ceramic pot, a few of the bigger pots and some yard art. I would take the larger clay pots and saucers. I especially need 4 and 6 inch pots. I have some small plants coming in.

What does the frog look like?

Thanks
Sandy

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Do I have any takers for redbud seedlings? Some of these have been growing for several years and are fairly substantial, at least a foot tall.

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

Silver, I'd love to have a couple of Redbuds. What can I get for you? I've updated my trade list on DG and also added a couple of things to the RU trade list.

LMK!

Patrob and pbtx...sorry I missed you before on the passi cuttings. I plan on trying to root more and will cut some for both of you. Hopefully some will take root this time.
