Here are a couple of the local 'sky carp' from one our ponds. I try to keep these beautiful, but problem residents run off and wary. Thank God only two are on the ponds now.
I haven't taken a pic today, but think we are going to run over to a nearby nature park and take a quick walk around the lake to burn a few calories. I'll take the camera along.

DAILY PICS VOL. 200
Nice pics everyone!
Nice pics burn! How much longer will the redpoll's be with you?
Frank - That "curious blue jay" pic you posted is priceless! What a great
expression.
Good one adel!
It has been a very pretty day today. Thank all for your compliments. I've been watching the finches behaviors. They're so interesting. There must be a couple that nesting nearby. I see them -- a male and a female -- together alot of time. Sometimes, they seems to 'talk' to each other while perching on the tree branches. Then the male will stay guard, while the female landed at the feeder. The male then chase other birds that come near -- as if to allow the female to get all she wanted before he allows others come close. They're so interesting to watch. Other time, I'll see two females fighting each other, then the male sized with his mate and chase the other female away from the feeder. Isn't that great? That's family is all about. The female bird is one lucky 'woman' isn't she? lol.
Beautiful Flicker nanny!
Lily, Thats so sweet about the House Finch; I'll have to pay more attention to mine.
Frank, I can't believe you still have Junco's! Very few around here.
Burn, beautiful Grosbeaks and Robin!
Margaret, I love that sweet Cockatoo!
Gary, Adorable Snow Buntings!
Yep but getting ready to go to bed. :-) Such sweet faces!
Margaret, we cross posted. You posted two more pictures, before I posted one comment.
We had a rare sunny day, the temperature was above freezing. We took a drive a 120 miles up the Glenn Hwy. Cresting the pass we were surprised to find the Nelchina basin in white out condition. With fresh snow falling, it was time to turn around and return to the clear sunny weather on the other side of the mountains.
There have been several recent reports of migratory flocks of Snow Buntings, being seen along the highway in this area. Today I finally saw one.
Good gravy, Gary. I just gone crosseyed trying to grid count them. My guess is 45. What a wonderful sight.
I'm getting 42
Must admit, I'm surprised it's such a difficult bird to get in Alaska.
Resin
Count them? They blend in so well I can't even see them!
200? Wow, you all have been busy! Great pictures. I keep hoping that the warmer weather will bring something new, but so far just the same old birds!
I'll take your word for the number of Snow buntings. I really enjoy getting to see some species that aren't available to me locally.
Here is a pic of a Stellar's Jay that I took in CO. If anyone has been across Wolf Creek Pass, this was taken from the overlook near Pagosa Springs. This jay was sitting right on the cliff with a huge updraft giving him a bad hair day.
