We had a rare sunny day, the temperature was above freezing. We took a drive a 120 miles up the Glenn Hwy. Cresting the pass we were surprised to find the Nelchina basin in white out condition. With fresh snow falling, it was time to turn around and return to the clear sunny weather on the other side of the mountains.
There have been several recent reports of migratory flocks of Snow Buntings, being seen along the highway in this area. Today I finally saw one.
