Double hellebore.
Garden photos of '09.....#11
Victor - that's some shot of that coyote! Looks like he's eyeing a domestic pet! :( Those are also some beautiful shots of your spring fleurs. I especially love that coppertina. Every time I see yours, I remind myself that I'd like to have those. All of your shots are gorgeous!
Shelly - As I was looking through your posts, I was thinking....we've just got to get her out here for an RU! We all want to chat with you in person!
JoAnn - I LOVE your fountain! It looks great with the JMs, and your surrounding area will be so nice when you finish it! I think it looks inviting now!! Did you have to run electrical wiring a long way for your fountain? That's my dilemma. I'd love to have one in my gardens.
Karen - wonderful collages of your hellebores. They are lovely, and I like your gnome!!
Anita - yes, we always clean out our bird boxes in NH before we head south in the fall. The biggest problem we have with ours is the wasps. They adopt the boxes even after the nesting has begun. Any ideas on how to stop that? We've tried rubbing a bar of soap inside, but that didn't work....
Hey Louise!
Electric was run about 10 feet to the house.
SIL is a wizz at that stuff.
Put a box on the surface and hardwired the pump to it.Then ran a line to the house.
Its a bit of a chore to turn on and off but its only done seasonaly.
He loves the fountain so much he doesnt complain and was eager to get it started yesterday.
Let me agree 100% with Louise on both counts - great fountain, Jo Ann (someday I'll do mine!) and an RU at Shelly's!!
Thanks Louise. I'm happy one the one hand that some deer predators are back, but that is one scary dude!
very nice victor -
Thanks Bill.
Wow--can't believe I missed so much---lots of news & great photos from everyone---lovely hellebores, Karen. I saw Jo Ann's fountain last summer, & it's very beautiful--very serene, & I envy it! Victor--nasty looking coyote---keep the cats in! Patti---great iris photos. Louise---loved the brug---unusual color. My DS almost has finished my fence---2 boards short. And of course I have to paint it all, plus the section on the other side of the drive. Rats.
beautiful photos everyone... I am beat... going to relax
Beautiful Patti. Love the RI's, as usual. I think the daff is 'Wave', but I'm not positive.
Great blues!
Great shots everyone!
Wow....you all have some pretty blooms up there! OK, now I'm ready to come back! LOL
Victor - nice "reflections" shot of the pond, and I really like the colors/tones in that pink and blue photo in particular.
Patii - love all of your bright blues!!
Robin - your fence looks great. That also looks like a nice garden spot just this side of it. Very nice job DS is doing! Cute DGD also!!
Wow, there's a lot going on today. That's great. two days in a row of temps that are 60deg+ (daytime - nights are freezing). It was sooooo nice. I had to work, but I'll take it!
JoAnn, the fountain looks great! I wish that I could get things done that expediantly!
Karen, all of your pics are great. Nice job on the collages! I still really favor that 'southern belle' hellebore. ok.........what's up with the toilet. Although, as pictures of toilets go.... that's one of the most flattering pictures of a toilet that I've seen!! lol
Victor, I love that first daffodil! and the pond shot is so sirene and peaceful. I love it.
Robin, you have a wonderful view! how nice. The 2 yr. old is sweet.
Brooke, all the pics are really pretty. You're making me think that I need more iris! I really like the 'Edward'.
Louise, Thanks so much! It wasn't all that long ago (for me anyhow) that I was out on the east coast, so I imagine that it will be a while before I can go again. However, when I do, I will be sure to coordinate it with a RU. Really!! I think that would be a ton of fun!
I hire people.
I'm too old to do some jobs anymore.
Theyre right when they say "with age comes wisdome" I've been hireing for about 5 years now. It's so freeing to imagine a space and have someone else do the work.
A garden edger is next on my list. When I saw Patties edged gardens I just knew I had to do it.
Well, that's a good way to do it then if they do a good job! I would love the thought of being able to get things done in a timely fashion. that would be nice! For me having someone else do the work would not be the freeing part, the freeing part woud be having it done in less than the week that it would take me to get it done between jobs. That would be so nice. Good luck with that edger!
Hi RC You'r right. I formerly lived on such a small piece of property ,it was easy to do garden jobs myself altho I did have a brick patio installed and a pergola put over it, but I have laid concrete sidewalk, taken oit ancient spirea hedges, moved blue stone to paths.
The whole lot was 40x120 with a 18sq ft house on it , and a 20x20 ancient garage which served a s my studio.
so anywhere there was a small strip of soil I put plants.
The garage was too small for modern cars .
So I built a Kiln and a room for throwing with shelves everywhere, I loved it.
I figured conservitly this property has 2,000 sq ft of garden space thats mine and another 1500 thats DD's.
Believe me I love it.
