Gardenpom - Nice photos as always...

I'd be interested to see a rear view shot like this one
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6356803
of one of the red flowers that you posted here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6359278

Ipomoea alba and I.turbinata are usually annuals , but sometimes they will live for several years climate zone permitting...they are usually relatively short lived perennials when they do last more than 1 season and bout 7 years is about the max...

That red one is still close to the ground and among foliage, but when one gets up enough I'll try and get a pic for you.

Rebecca was really putting on a show this morning.

A truly beautiful vine, gardenpom! Reminds me of my LYK from last year. That one single vine produced more flowers than the total of ALL the vines I grew last year! LOL! I have 15 of them growing in the same pot again this year. I think I may have over planted - too many seeds! Can you ever have enough of a good thing?! :-D

Melbourne, FL

I think the same thing is going to be true of this one, Becky. I've never seen so many flowers!

I planted a LOT of Poppy seeds this year. All different kinds, but unfortunately, the only ones that came up and are now blooming are the pink blooming Papaver somniferum. And I got so few this year. What a disappointment. Though ... I think the rats chewed up a LOT of them. Luckily, I think those pesky rats moved on after I disturbed their munching with a broom! LOL!

Here is the 3-tiered garden bed the Poppies are growing in. I went a bit off the deep-end and threw too many seeds out. I don't even remember seeds of what! LOL! I think I was having a melt-down during my mother's illness and then her death and just didn't care. I just needed something to take my mind off of everything ... even if for a brief moment. This garden bed is a result of my temporary insanity...

I sincerely have a "thing" for Poppies, too, gardenpom! ;-) And the butterflies and bees seem to like the blooms too. :-) I saw so many different kinds of butterflies today that I had to pinch myself ... it was so nice to see all these flying beauties coming back into my yard! Everything is coming into bloom which attracts all the nectar insects. Spring is here in Florida! :-)

That's one large, crowded bed! Lots' of different blooms are nice though. Sometimes I plant mixed packs and then don't remember what's in them and what blooms is a nice surprise.

very nice Becky, I like your style.. I am the same way.. over seeding.. but I like the lush effects!

I hope this is the kind of behind the flower pic you wanted, Ron.

Far view of my Glory vines. You can see how abundant the blooms are on Rebecca compared to the others.

The soft 'spines' are normal...they help the vines to climb and hold onto the damp ground where they will often elongate into roots to start new plants...

I don't see them very often, it seemed odd. Thanks.

Your photography is such a treat, Gardenpom - thank you. Rebecca tolerates the shady spot I give it, so it's wonderful to see it in its sunny glory.

Ooh! and poppies too!!! Since this is your thread, I wouldn't mind seeing whacha do with other flowers, too :) In fact, being a horticultural omnivore, I'd love it if you'd mix photos of other flowers among your MGs here.

Let us know when you need more MG seeds - there's them that sing for their supper, and them that photograph for their MG seeds - lol!

I have fifteen pics to upload, so please bear with me as I get it done. Rebecca outdid herself this morning.
