Great photos everyone.

Happy_1, the firecracker plants are considered weeds in Florida and Houston, but I struggle to keep them as they are one of the hummingbird's favorite plants. They are mosly in hanging baskets, and drape over the edge of pots, for a good display.
Here is a yellow firecracker plant.

candela, I will have to agree with Joegee, the other Shell ginger looks delicious.
Is your DH a chief?

You're right, they are weeds here. Maybe too much growing time. They get huge.

Cass, I like the 6:17pm post the best.

phughes, that is a very healthy and beautiful mandevilla, I feel rather silly posting pictures of my two blooms.
I have been pinching off the buds of my named Brugs. hoping to get a big flush whenever I put them out in the springtime.

Rj, THANKS, I like your variegated cane too. I see a firecracker plant in your first picture too.

Joeswife, your plant could very well be a Chalice vine.

Sunshinesw, are your desert roses still blooming and do you keep them in the full sun?

Portland, TX(Zone 9a)

I like that iochroma, Rita. My desert rose plants aren't blooming yet, and I've had them out in the sun not quite a month. Sure wish they would start blooming.

Hey Rj you said something about the length of the bloom season for iochromas; how long will they bloom? My wine colored one is still looking good with blooms, but I can't remember last year how long it bloomed but I don't think it was very long. It was just a baby last year so I'm hoping this year it will bloom much longer. I'm really like these!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

the brugs opened around the cane today...
Patty, the Iochroma blooms year around ..slows in winter..and summer but always blooming

Placenciarita, yes my Desert Roses are still blooming and it is in full sun.

Phughes, how are your honeysuckles doing? Mine started to bloom this week, I hope that the cold weather tonight will not hurt the blooms.
Here is a new honeysuckle called Honey Rose.

Rj, all of your garden pictures are so good. After seeing candela's shell ginger, I checked on mine and there are a few pink fat tips on them. Is your ginger blooming yet?

Sunshine, thanks for your reply on the Desert Rose. I was a little worried about mine, they are still without foliage. I will put them out in the sunshine as soon as it warms up again.

Texasbigleaves, Where are you? I know that your White Bird of Paradise is always in bloom. Do you have any pictures of the buds?

Rita my honeysuckle has had some blooms for awhile now but they are not profuse. I love your new one. I sure hope mine will take off soon. Last year I had such a problem with it. I am trying to only water at the base and not the foliage so maybe it won't suffer from that white stuff (mildew???).

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes the shell gingers are all looking pregnant right now!
I came home last night and these white trumpets were all open ..they are huge! Hopefully they will open again tonight.
I posted a virtual tour for the blog today

more of the tree, the wood rose has climbed over the top of it, thus the effect of the way the trumpets are.

Just read the blog; loved all the pictures. Did you get a new pot (the beige one with the sun dial) or did you just move it? I don't remember seeing it before.
