I took the following photos yesterday. It started when I spotted this hummer in the China Berry tree.

Practicing my stalking skills, I moved closer.

Closer still. It appears that this hummer is the one we call Zippy.

I think that Zippy was soaking up the sun in this one.

Got a photo of the hummer we call Sweetie Pie.

SW, that first shot is wonderful!

Weegy, do you mean the one I started the thread with? Or my first stalking shot? Just wait, there is more! LOL!
This is a close up of Zippy's throat. I still haven't figured out what kind of hummer Zippy is. Zippy also has some white tips on his/her tail feathers. (see previous thread).

No problem, considering that, you can't "butt In", and especially since I forgot to attach the photo! Ooops!

Hard to say, if this is Sweetie Pie, who was that imposter in the earlier post?

Gee that last photo was disappointing. You can't hardly see it's eye. Maybe this will make up for it.

I wasn't sure if we were going to see Zoom at all yesterday. He sure does move faster that my camera shutter!

Here he is living up to his name. One photo per visit, he is so fast!

How about you all? Find any nests like sunnyg? I'm snagging the binoculars and checking out the trees they hang out in the most, before they leaf out more!

Ok, I'll see if I can catch my hummers in action. And my jays are coming around again, will try to get a shot of them taking peanuts off the top of my head.

oh I totally believed you weegy - just thought it was funny!.... I feed them peanuts, too - enjoyable to watch.

I would like to see a pic of the "feeding off the head" technique.

Ok, we'll get one soon, I haven't seen them today. They are very enjoyable, just love my birdies!

I believe you weegy. Dad did it all the time. Him and his jays. Puts a smile on my face.
My Hummer friends weren't very happy with me today. I wasn't there as much as usual to adore them. Either that, or they didn't like it when I trimmed a few things, and then ignored them. Or come to think of it, one flew a foot in front of my face and scolded me as I was walking by the yellow wasp trap.
So I thought I'd start tonight's with a flying feeder.

Zippy flew into the gh again and I had to entice her out. Then I got this photo of Zoom.

See, I told you they were shunning me!

I don't mind being shunned much. Look at the pattern on this one's back!

Zippy, after leaving the gh, perched right overhead on a Wisteria vine.

I was surprised to see two hummers perched near each other in the Wisteria. Sweetie Pie, who was mad at me, and Zippy. I thought this was going to be the last photo of the evening with my cat Peek-a-boo prowling overhead.

Then I got this photo.

Even though it isn't the best photo, I was really surprised when I saw this.

After sharing the feeder for a few minutes, they all flew off but this one. I think it was asserting ownership! LOL!
Was a surprising and fun day, especially since I wasn't even trying.

I was so amazed, Mom was too. She was watching from the window inside the house.
I wonder if they are a family, except Zippy doesn't have a speck of red on herm.
I guess it was worth the scolding about the wasp trap for that photo.
Even if it was sort of dark, maybe that is why they shared. Last chance before full dark to get something for dinner.
Now I got to go looking for nests!

Oooo, look, look . . . look what I found in my rose tree pot while I was typing up that last thread I just started!

It's blurry, I know, but that blur is, in part, Standard Poodle nose smudges on the lower glass of the sliding glass door.

And, it appears that she has spotted me in my floor length, red, Land's End Polartek snuggle sack crawling around on the floor in the house.

LOL! How cool!

I'll bite. Is that a cat or a squirrel?
No Hummers today. I did see them once, but didn't have my camera in hand.
LOL!
Did have some unexpected feathered visitors though. These may have stopped by for a snack, or returning to the old home place on their migration.
