I am so jealous of all the color in your yard BJ, and of the camelias, too, Cody. Still pretty brown here with nights still falling into the 20's. :O(
Will anything be blooming when we get there BJ? Maybe you could stick some plastic flowers in the ground for us....just kidding, silly me.
More pond work yesterday....pictures soon!

Morning ladies..
What beautiful pictures from all of you and wow it looks like everyone has been very busy..
I spent the day yesterday piddling around and did alittle sanding on the truck but the wind was horrible and there is nothing worse than paintdust flying around even with glasses on..
Question about Daylily ???
Can I dig mine up, cut the foilage, place them in a bag of peat and put them someplace to keep them alive but not in pots? I want to take them with me but space is going to be very tight so I need to downsize what I can and I refuse to leave my daylily behind. .. Could I put the bags in teh fridge since spring will be breaking about the time we get home? Advce please......
Morning everyone.
Donna, wish I could help with the daylily, but I don't grow them. Sorry.
Hopefully someone will jump in here.
LK
Morning Sistahs.
My body is so sore ... head to toes... I really needed this day off.
Donna... don't cut the foliage. If you can put them all in one pot, just crowd them in there... and give them enough dirt to cover the roots. If you have a lot of them... just take a few to get you started at the new place.
The bed I showed you above is from 3 little DL fans I took from my mom's house when I sold it, 4 years ago. Besides what you see in that pic, I have a bucket load to hand off to my son.
OR... just leave those there, give me the new address, and I'll send you some of these.
HECK... I'll bet we'll all be sending you new plants for your new place when you get there.
LK... there's just something not right about you not having any Daylilies. I think you need to go home with some when you come in May.
BJ I had thought about taking just a few but love my babies.. They will be the one thing I desperately want to keep.. They all were bought from Dave Talbot directly before he got sick and shut down his operation.. Kinda sentimental ya know.. I may see if I have a big pot to throw them in but as I said room in the truck is going to be sparse.. We are renting a 16 foot truck from budget and filling it pretty full. I may be able to find rom in the back of the pick up though.. Hmmmm
Take a break today and relax you deserve it..
Morning LK..
Here's another idea, Donna.
When my sister moved from Texas to Pennsylvania... she had some plants she just couldn't part with... but was afraid they couldn't make the trip. So, she potted up a start of everything she had, and took them to mom's house. Some things, like the daylilies, iris', and such, she packaged up, and the day before she left, she UPSed them to herself in Pennsylvania. The day after she arrived there, her plants arrived in great condition. That fall, when it was cooler... she returned with a truck to get her plants from mom's house. She didn't loose anything.
She did the same thing when she moved back to Texas...
Blessed Sunday ladies!!!
Darn good advice there BJ! Not to cut the tops off is also recommended here cause the foliage is food for the tuberous roots. How many cultivars you have Donna? Sounds like you're a lily addict like me!!! Oooops.. I fibbed... sorry.. I had forgotten that I did order more daylilies ---though not from a co-op----but from another DGer! Do a zebra changed its' stripes, BJ :D He he he..... just like asking you to stop playing in your garden!!
And Donna... I'm right next to BJ when it comes to being willing to share any plants you might need from here ;)
And there are 2 bonafide DL nurseries too close to me :*(
Uhhh, BJ, I'm glad you're listening to your body. Rest dear sistah. In you saying you're tired, makes all of us look normal!!!!
Sistah Deborah.. I know a certain box got to your doorsteps!!! Please tell me the contents are intact!! That's my main worry :(
Synda, how is your mum doing?
Lisa (CountryBlueLady), if you're lurking, never stopped praying for you and your mum. Hope you are healing along.
Come out sistahs and let us know how this beautiful Sunday is.
Giving all my SI sistahs and nieces a big (((((((((((((((HUG)))))))))))))))
Hanging my head in shame too, Jaye. My hydrangea has been frozen twice. But a look today and it has some green on it. My oranamental grasses look horrible but I am afraid to trim them down just yet.. Maybe tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Sistah Tina!!!! I did something today, outside!!!
Picked up debris the winds had blown :D Not doing anything yet to the weeds and dead grass.. still need them to mulch just in case we have another late freeze.
Didn't see any green on my hydrangeas, this area here is always a week behind from yours.
I think my hybiscus are dust no green there. But I do have lots of GREEN WEEDS. I hate to pull them out no more green!! lol
Now Tina, you know what they say about weeds. They're just unloved flowers!!
Got a lot of wild flowers springing up here. Some beauty to these tired eyes.
OK I'll let them stay until tomorrow. It's supposed to reach 68.
Lolol! Tomorrow's your day off.. enjoy!
Thanks Jaye!! Call me if you come to the Beach!!!
Wel it looks like I will try to hold on to what I can but for the most part everything else I will be leeting go to new homes..
As far as cultivars I have a bunch but lost most of the tags until they bloom.. lol
I have inky fingers, yellow hyperion (fav), pandoras box (fav), ming toy, lil grapette, midnight masquarade, a pretty purple (cant remember name), double kwanso and a few others.. I really do love the grassy plants and the blooms are beautiful.. Was marked my favorite plant in ohio seeing the orange ditch daylily growing everywhere.. My mom and I used to pic kfresh blooms at least every other week..
Jaye you are right about the weeds.. I have spiderwort pop up all over th eyard.. Here they are considered weeds but in other places they sell like crazy.. Very strange in deed...
BJ... lol asked mom if I dropped them with her if she woul dmail them and she laughed.. Said she would plant and keep them.. She really is getting better about us going and even now says she will be there next spring or fall for a visit>> Max says he thinks she wont be far behind us moving home as well..
Tina I lost my hibiscus this year too.. Was a rough winter this year and the freezes we had took ours.
I went out this morning and posted a curb alert on craigslist for pots and flats.. I made 6 trips out to the curb with my falling aprt lil wagon nd am hoping someone will come snatch them all up.. There are mor eback there but I think Im ou of energy for hauling them around.. I also pulled a few babies Max said we have to take along and plante dthem all very sngly in a long flat contaier. Im thinking they shoul dbe fine unti we get settled.. Holding out on the daylily for now.. Came in and grabbed up lunch for all of us while Max snoozes away from working all night>> So far this week over 60 hours and he may need to work tonight. . Just wont know until later...
Someone told me to wait until April and cut it all the way down and it will come back. I think I'll try it.
Tina very true they can come back from the roots if they didnt get hit too hard.. After last schance of freeze is gone trim them back and cross your fingers..
I'm thinking that I will try it. It came from Wal-Mart last spring and it bloomed all summer and fall until the first frost hit. I even covered it up. Go figure.
Tina, I didn't cut back my hibiscus for 2 years since I had it. They kept coming back, but I had them mulched at least 6 inches.
Will have to bring your p # with me next time we're at the beach.
Donna, you can't believe the number of Hallelujahs I shout when I read your posts!
Rev 3:8 ----"I know what you've been doing. Look! I have put in front of you an open door that no one can shut. You have only a little strength, but you have obeyed my word and have not denied my name."
When I came across this, this morning, it brought tears to my eyes, and you came to my mind. We all just have to have faith in His promises.
thanks crissy, but that house is long gone. I'm happier without it. it was bought for business reasons, which disappeared when the ink was dry on the closing statements. It was gorgeous and I adored it, but I always felt royally cheated. Once sold, it was like an albatross lifted from my shoulders. the only real problem: it was very filled with light (yup, faded all my furniture) and our new place is very shaded and dark. Indoor plants hate it.
But that reminds me. Donna, we had to move out fast. I took all my trash cans, little to large, and turned them into bins to transport daylilies! dirt and all. just don't water much since they won't drain. Rinse out the cans and you have your trash bins again! set them in the shade after digging until you load them on the truck. put them on truck last, and where they can't hurt anything if the dirt should spill. Seems like I took about 1/3 as much dirt as they were in. They survived 4 weeks that way. if the foliage gets crimped, so what? think I put 3 to 5 labeled daylilies in each office sized trash can, but mine were fairly new plants so not large.
Jaye your so sweet.. Also very right the door is opened up for us and Im running to get to t.> I really cant wait to get home and get back to my roots.. No pun intended.. lol I think this is what is best for our family and I have the faith that it will all work out..
Bonnie that ma be an option.. Im working on 2 very tightly planted containers for the move and Max says he will keep room open for them so I think I may slide them into those..
Had a visit today from a friend and her kids.. Took alot of pictures and Bella even got to play with her brother for a few hours.. Was relaxing and alot of fun..
No Donna!! That's not playing.. that's Bella telling Zuce gals don't sniff... no boy's "derrier" !!! Lolol!!!
Thank you Max for making room for Donna's favorite lilies. It means a lot to us sistahs ^_^
Looks like it's a busy Sunday to the rest. It's indeed a beautiful day outside.. got a few briars pulled out. Can't wait for the smell of green!
Had to edit it :D

Oh God!! Blame Synda for my train of thoughts!!! ROFL!!!
Hey Cody, how are you today?
Our camellia, Sarah Bernhardt had the last of its beautiful blooms today. Gorgeous deep red with white streaks.
Wished I had batteries for the camera.
Hi Jaye, some of my are still blooming. That is my Mrs.Charles Cobb their.Cool!!!!!!!!!
This morning, we were eyeing a house with so many camellia trees. They are all about 8 ft. tall. There's one with 2 color blooms.. red and white. You know I'll make Kel knock at their door when it's time to make camellia cuttings!! Hope they're willing to share :D
Good evening! Love the pictures of the flowers, family and friends, and dogs playing. Seems like everyone had a good day!
knew it. all that cleaning and dusting. we even wore masks. I'm sick sick sick. taken double dose of decongestants and antihistimines. oyvay.
well, can't say it couldn't be the pollen outside either. wind came up at the soccer game, too. got good and chilled in the sun even. Ruth's team won 4-1. not bad. I'm heading for bed without reading any. will catch up with my sistahs later
ready for a snapshot from Schreiners? taken '07.
Evening Crissy! Hope your day went well.
Schreiners?? What's that Bonnie?
Take care of those sinuses... don't want to be in your shoes!
Was going to enjoy a good book after watching Amazing Race. Realised that I had left my glasses behind at the Thai restaurant!! Apparently I had laid them on the table to eat without my glasses steaming up! Boy!!! Can't call them up cause they are closed now. Sure hope they hold them for me.
I just got them 2 months ago :*( Kel's so calm.. he said it's a good excuse to get some Pad Thai!
Heading for bed, you all have a good night's sleep ladies.
Good night everyone.
Rainbow dreams!
LK
