Today's Weather in Your Garden - 42

South Hamilton, MA

40 Take it easy Patti, think about inside things for awhile.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Now you can actually smell the flowers, congrats!
45 high of 52 excpected no wind

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Thanks all, I finally potted up my Japanese Maples that have been sprayed everyday by DH and they look great. I did a stroll around the house, not much out yet, but tons peeking up, so there will be a show at some point. I am now back in an easy chair, exhausted from only a tiny amount of work. But I already feel a prone position and a nap coming on. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just in for a break from more cleanup. I think I will plant at least one of the JM's today - one that has not leafed out yet.

Getting a bit overcast, but still nice for working - around 50.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

55 and it rained earlier. The weekend looks like mid 50's and showers on Sat. Hopefully I can weed between the showers.

South Hamilton, MA

Who's weeding??

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

61ºF here at the moment and the rain was predicted to start at 3PM, but it looks like it is trying really hard to squeeze some out.

Even I was able to get in some weeding around the yard today.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

It's up to 52 now.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

53 and mostly sunny. Got two JM's in the ground.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's 50 and I got my hands dirty!! Auntie's tulip bed is in full sun for the most part of the day and today NO SNOW. Of course I had to chomp through snow to get to it but it was worth it!!!!!! ^_^

Thomaston, CT

Wow---a lot of work done today---I was running around, then managed to walk both my dogs---they got a mile each--then had to go home & cook for son & family. Then I had a meeting for town beautification---the day was nice---53. Glad you got out, Patti.

West Warren, MA

Nice day yesterday, in 50's. Will be able to get out into garden to rake on Fri..
Have a new pop up greenhouse to put up, hope it works out great with seedlings!
AHHH! Sun, warmer days! Free exercise! Discovering baby plants, think they were busy under all that snow!!
Way to go on not smoking! Put that $$ you saved into your 'special acct' and splurge!!

Lexington, VA(Zone 6a)

I've been working in the gardens the past few days and since the temps have felt like New England thought I'd pop in to see what your weather is like :) I can't believe that it's actually warmer in your neck of the woods than it is here! The temps have been hovering between 40 and 45 and the winds were brutal making it feel even colder. Hasn't stopped me though, I just head out with extra layers/gloves and was actually able to tolerate it long enough to get some Hostas planted :) It sure is a wild swing from the t-shirt weather (70's) we had a couple of weeks ago and confusing the heck out of the Magnolias that are trying to bloom!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

39 now going up to 48... supposed to get some rain this afternoon & tonight

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

37 and gray. Hi Debbie - been getting warmer each day this week. Was 15 just two mornings ago.

Brattleboro, VT(Zone 5a)

25 degrees and sunny. One goldfinch at the feeder this morning was sporting quite a bit of yellow on his back. Spring can't be too far away! That time when a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love...and a young bird's feathers predict what is starting to creep into his thoughts. :)

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

No sun today, lightly rainy .... maybe tomorrow.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

was 22 this morning and the pond has a film of ice on it - came home last night and two mallards where out there - sure sign of spring - could be peepers this weekend!!

Victor ... I don't know what's going on with that program.

I just bought a new Mac for the office and migrated to stuff from the old computer to the new one. I still have a bunch of adjustments to make.

I think those times are still following the old rules for daylight saving times. So I need to add one hour ....... I should pay better attention, esp. by 9AM!!

I am just getting all my icons back to how I like them!! HeHeHeHe One thing at a time ......

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

But that's the weird part. The morning time is definitely too early, but the sunset time is certainly not an hour early! No way your sun is setting at 8:35! Mine is 7:14 tonight.

Thomaston, CT

Spring peepers!--How I love that sound! Cloudy & 42 here---getting ready to rain.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i have to say that here it is deafening - the wet lands is pretty large and they are a loud happy group -

a neighbor told me when he first moved here he pulled his car over to the side thinking something was wrong - car was fine - it was the peepers

South Hamilton, MA

When we lived in CT, at new neighbor asked DH about the 'birds' which kept making noise. He had to explain the peepers.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Iris- you dont' think I'd let you weed there by yourself do you?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

cold damp drizzly 43

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

The peepers are one of my favorite sounds!

South Hamilton, MA

No, too many things have non-iris foliage. J2 has a nice cottage garden (JM was already there) as her sun is in the front yard, so she put in flowers etc.irises from us. Unusual in the neighborhood, which has foundation plantings.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Nice day here and no wind. I even got out for a couple of hours. I pruned and cleaned up a few beds and dug 7 holes for my Japanese maples. I think being outside help loosen up the crap in my chest. I am now exhausted. DH started to tackle one of the rosa rugosa beds. Awful job. But come spring it is worth it.

I love peepers which are called "pinkletinks". We have a couple in our greenhouse which peep at times all winter. Very sweet little guys who are very shy.

It is 47 and cloudy. We are getting rain tomorrow, but Sat should be good for outside work. Patti
