Several times.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

All girls Victor? What about phlox 'David' or do you have a phlox 'Dava'? I have both girl and boy plants. My lilac is a girl though, 'Miss Kym'. She better not be waking up yet though. Also I thought wrens were from FL?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

would be difficult for him to feel the plant texture if it were not a she

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - and 'David' is a girl.

Man - I just starting listing all the clematis I think I have and I am up to 57!! Probably forgot a few. And that is the number of varieties, not plants. I have no idea where they all are! That's the next step.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

WOW 57???!!!!!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I love to see wrens. I put up a thistle feeder the other day and it is covered with finches. I think mostly house finches and I don't know if they are goldfinches or pine siskins. Am going to get my hummer feeder out soon, to catch the early birds hopefully. Mom has enjoyed seeing the birds and sometimes squirrels at the platform feeder outside her window.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'm going to try my feeder again...I didn't see any last year but my neighbor gets them at her rose of sharons.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, 57, and I am sure there are a few I missed! Just looked up all the pruning groups.

How very exciting!!!

Thomaston, CT

Carolina wrens are a treat! I see them rarely, but you can hear them say "Teakettle, teakettle", so I know a few are here. Can't believe you have 57 clems, Victor. I have 5---soon to be 6---& am trying to think of a good place for the new one. Also, my fav was climbing through one of the roses I pruned down to give to son---don't know what it will climb through now.

South Hamilton, MA

Plant a 2nd rose.

Congrats, Allison!

I can't believe it either. This year I will check to see how many are actually alive and growing.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yay Allison!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

yeah for the lungwort!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

haha.... Allison, maybe you were the one. I couldn't remember which thread it was. But, I remembered telling them that I would show somebody how much farther along P. Majeste is ahead of the others. Was that you?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

don't think so.... unless my oldtimers kicked in

the plant behind the snow drop in my photo is mine... not even close to blooming

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

It snowed last night barely an inch but forcast is for cold and snow/rain so no more lugging mulch today.
I'll get my April orders straightened out.
Went to HD yeaterday and got 2 bags of potting soil.
Saw the Kiosk of seeds and bags of summer bulbs.
I joined the Caladium co-op and wanted to see what 18 bulbs for 8 dollars looked like.
They wewr the size of small walnuts about an inch.
Just curious.
Last year I bought a bag and was dissapointed in the performance.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah I did the same a few years ago... last year they all looked like they were starting to rot at HD... the ones I got in the co-op last year were not huge... but they grew nice... I never took them out of the pot last year... but did bring them into the garage... only time will tell if they survived

Wow, Jo Ann, you got quite a bit done yesterday.

They've said snow for us Sunday and Monday night. I'm hoping that will fall through!

Allison, your pulmonarias will be going strong before too long.

I still think that it was this thread that I was mentioning how much farther along Majeste is than others, so i'll go ahead and post these.

This is rasberry splash.

'Silver Streamers'

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I got in the co-op too late last year... so I just got the leftovers... didn't get my choice... but they are great plants... I bought a bunch this year as well... I have so many shady spots... and they really are a blast of color... a few years ago I dug some up and put them in the garage... Randy didn't know and stacked the containers I had them in... they all rotted

can't believe your rasp. splash has those big old flower buds on that ity bity plant

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Then this is 'Majeste'. It even gets about 3 hours less sun a day, than all of the others do. I'm sure that it would be much farther along if it had any direct light at all.

Well, your plants sure look great for being the Runts! Shame on Randy! lol.

Yes, Rasberry splash is a little disproportionate. But, It's a larger plant than it looks. It's been there at least 6 maybe 7 years. But, it's on a steep slope and the soil has eroded more than I realized, so the foliage is struggling while it's trying hard to give the amount of blooms a plant that age should. I need to replant quite a few plants on that slope this year :-( I'm never big on replanting anything. But.... it needs to be done!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah I have a few spots like that... I am thinking one of my poppies might not make it that I planted last year... the soil washed away so bad that I can see the outline of where the container it came in was

Randy is working on attempting to keep our mulch on the one slope we have... not sure how he plans on doing that.. but we will see

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

have you ever divided any of your lungwort?

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Thanks Ge!

What were you expecting Allison? is there usually some sort of coordination between the leaves and flower color?

The biggest difference between Silver Streamers and Diane Clare probably is the flower color. I've never really thought them to be all that different.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

no... but your picture looks like a lime color... might just be the light
