Love the color on that bougainvillea Rita.
Tropical Garden # 33
Well mabe not Rita, I broke a big branch off planting in into the ground and made a cutting out of it..this rain should have made it take off..haven't really checked...have some purple ones too.

I bought the purple one. Planted it out and this week has given it a run for its money. We got just over 4 inches of rain in 3 days....yay! But cold of 38-40 was miserable. Checked everything this afternoon and they are just sort of hanging in there. Hoping when it warms and the sun is out they will perk up. Mine are all exposed to the elements and are just now coming out of dormancy. The wisteria and Lady banks roses are loaded with buds. If the sun is out tomorrow....Katie bar the door. Mike has agreed to try to build a hoop house next fall. We'll see.

oh we are going to experience flower shower after these rain showers...wait and see
Thanks Randy and Lucy. Seriously, I am too old to wait for a tree to grow from seeds. I think I know what my next mission will be; gotta find that plant! LOL.
I really envy that rain you are having. It has been bone dry here; it rains all around us and comes within about 5 miles then turns away. The pollen is so heavy right now we could really use a shower.
As early as last wednesday we were like that....the D word was rising to the top of chat amongst us Texans
It's around 8 years old...it was the plant on the left side just before you entered the living room doors on a chair...it's in a pot right now, and is nothing but solid roots...there is no soil left.
I thought I had lost you all.. those pictures are awsome, and Rob, congrats on the sanguina.. my seedling is up on mine..
we're all out busy in the southern gardens that are awakening or awake already
Sunshine they are gorgeous! I love the saint pattys one.. your begonia is awsome, I have two just like it. I am still waiting for blooms.
Yes it is...cup of gold Chalice Vine
do you have a shot of the stem with leaves? I am trying to see if a cutting has survived or not.. no leaves and no blooms , but it is doing fine.. I just didn't mark all the vines I have been sent P~
Yes, everywhere..I have 3 different giant vines

wow great articles, never heard of a wick.. gonna try that it makes sense.. are those moonflowers or hybrid daturas?
Do you live in an arboretum? LOL
they are just regular daturas. I have versions that are fairly tall
so were you wanting chalice vine?
Oh yes, want some bad, I think Rita sent some, but I can't remember I would have to look in my dmails, anyways whatever this is it is going, just don't know what it is called.. I grow moonflowers all the time in the summer here, but this year I am putting some around the base of the Brugs, we will see how that looks. It seems like some of these things won't be able to go outside in my backyard, too sunny , so I am keeping the tropicals here in the "GreenZone" of my basement heaven. LOL We will like the coolness down here in the hot summer I am sure..
here is one plant I can't ID.. ( from a trade) it popped up about four inches away from the original start which now looks like a stick.. any ideas?
Okay,
I may have one ready to go already and then will throw in some cuttings too.
The first one looks kind of like a 4 oclock, the second one reminds me of..I don't know the name ..but it has varigated waxey leaves green and white...
I'll be up front, I'm very slow at getting stuff out, so be patient..
Dmail me your addy.
Rj...I'm freaking out! You won't believe this...I planted a 6" cutting of the chalice vine the other day and it's going to bloom!!! I gotta show you this, will take pictures!
RJ u got it! that is what Rita sent me the varigated thing.. what is it? I can't remember? will it be okay in full sun or should I shade it? And, this stick thing MAY very well be a favorite fuschia four o clock I hadn't thought of that, I brought ina tuber with a stem and planted it and forgot about it.. wonderful! I love my awsome four o clocks they get about 5 ft tall and bush out about four feet wide..
ummmm...oh my ...I can't remember what the name of it is...I'll do some digging.. May be Rita can help us out, although she's MIA. I hope she's on holiday or gardening like crazy.
