What do you do for fun when not gardening 2?

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh I am ordering that one... so beautiful... have you ever ordered from American Meadows????

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I like the white hosta flowers too and little Nana has a light blue flower, the hosta is so small and short it hardly gets noticed until its a big bunch, which will be years from now in my garden.

Here's a photo of why I don't like hosta flowers, Kassia. I ended up moving the entire 120' row of them.

I'm with you.

Here's a picture of Krossa Regal from Walters Gardens, Kass.

I've never ordered from American Meadows. They look like an all right company but I see you have to buy 3 hostas. You won't need three Krossa Regalls, they multiply like crazy. Since they are 'vase shaped' they look best with another hosta, or other plant at their feet. And Regal Splendor really goes well with Krossa Regal.

Hi! was working 7 am to 7 pm for the last 2 days... and did not get home until 11pm last night... tough night but if I did not have paperwork to do I could have come home at 8pm... my patients were really cared for and for that I am very happy! such nice people 90% of the time... I love it... and last night was the 2nd time I took care of a physician... oh he is one of the good ones that does not thing he is god... such a nice family...

anyway, Poly I did order 3... oh well, I guess I will have tons... will be able to share! looks really nice...

Pirl when you show it like that picture I agree with you... it does take away from that gorgeous hydrangea!

I saw a pic yesterday of a white hosta... so interesting...

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh my goodness they are gorgeous... love it... can just imagine places for them... wow... thanks you guys for the suggestions!
I ordered both and some more... oh could not resist...

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

You ordered both what? I need to know, your excitement is contagious, LOL.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Polly, I went kind of crazy... when I think that they are hardy, don't require winter protection... oh well big temptation!

I ordered

Krossa Regal
Regal Splendor
Frances William
Sagee
HOSTA tokudama Flavocircinalis
HOSTA Sieboldiana Elegans
Guacamole
Captain Kirk
Gold standard
Alba marginata

oh well, add 2 hydrangeas to that ...

I have a huge area that needs hostas, and 2 trees... plus some other places where it will get sun in the morning for about 2 hrs and shade for the rest of the day... ah, can't help it but get them!

hello all! I'm back - sorta kinda. lol
wisdom teeth are out as of monday & everything went well. Just painful & a nuisance.

Kassia - to install that pond was really not that big a deal except for digging & getting it perfectly level. I mean LEVEL!
The hardest part to me was setting all the stone, but I'm still not done and will be rearranging alot of it I'm sure.

UGH!!! Don't even get me started on the hostas! I have a new addiction out of control! Pirl knows! lol

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

There are a lot of addictions that are worse. At least you can divide yours eventually and trade with other people to get more.

Glad the tooth problem is nearing an end.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

glad the tooth thing is over. You wont miss them.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh I am telling you guys I was doing well resisting until last weekend... but I am doing better in terms of not getting any more roses...
hopefully all the seeds I am planting will also grow and in a couple of years my garden will be decent... and the shade gardens will be also fuller with the hostas... and astilbes... so many plans!!!! and dreams!!!!

OK, to continue from the first part - just finished Twilight and I really liked it. The story moved right along at a good clip and the characters were easy to get interested in. Pollyk, have you seen the movie yet? I noticed some things they changed in the trailer that I didn't like, but that's the movie biz. Next book on request.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

We just saw the movie. We had movie night at my grandsons house, popcorn and all. Tons of fun. But I honestly did not care for the movie as much as the book. And my husband was not overly happy with the ending, considering how long it will be until the next movie is out. But it was OK. My grandson and I sat next to each other, and whispered about the movie while the rest of the family didn't know who was who or what was coming next, so that was fun.

Since reading the book, I've noticed my grandson is more polite around the girls, and we talked about how Bella and Edward only kissed until they got married, and how boys should be protective of girls. I really think it was a good series for a ten year old boy. And my grandson has the hoodie that says 'real men read Twilight'.

Spoiler alert! I haven't read all the books yet. LOL I might skip the movie. Your grandson is lucky to have you - sounds like he will grow up just fine. We could sure use more real men.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Right -on for real men.
