Happy Birthday Redchic01

Shelly: You are wholly entitled to not be "dressed" yet!! Take it easy, heal fast, so we can selfishly enjoy all the AWEsome photos you privileged us with!

I won't even get into the horrible scolding I laid into a mother for a reprehensible statement her child made about another child as they passed by.

I was simply aghast that such ignorance would still exist in a cultured, educated society!

The mom scolded the child lightly for his comment, but I slammed into the mother for teaching her child such horrible thoughts in the first place.

My point was that he was WAY to young to have learned something so vile at school, so he surely got it from home. I don't think I could have said "shame on you" to that poor excuse of a child-rearer enough that day. I had to leave the mall. (I was done shopping anyway, and it seemed like a fitting end... LOL)

Yep, - azithromycin. Also called a Z pack. 2 pills the first day, then 1 for the next four days.

Thanks Willie, I'll take "the pass" for today with much appreciation! :-p You're far too kind!

I would love to hear the story that brought that about.... if you feel like typing it. It seems as though it would have to be something pretty drastic to make you want to leave! Can you move out here? There's a lot of folks who could use some "lessons" from you!!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I bet stock in Azithromycin would have been a good investment this year!

Seems everyone is getting the Z-pack!

They must be making a fortune ........

If you sick at least feel good that you have some kind of health care. We have no insurance. Have not had any for 30+ years. I tried to get DH on it in the 80's I can remember this so good. I gave Bankers Life a depo. They turned around and told him he had to go to the hospital for a stress test ( echocardiogram). He said - Give the deposit back I am not doing that. The guy said OK the check came back with in a week and that guy had a heart attack and died. Husband said - he should of went to the hospital for that test!

I think you're right.

My great-niece has Down's Syndrome and her mom, my niece, has a website for her. Her goal is to expose people to DS and not to prejudge. She also would like to have people stop using the word 'retard' in their vocabulary in reference to people. Please check out her website. My niece is also a fantastic photographer ala redchic. www.emmasage.blogspot.com
She would be thrilled to have you visit and you would be amazed. Emma Sage is now 7 soon to be 8.

Let's just say the comment included the word "monkey," 'nuff said, I hope.

I was simply "aghast" for lack of a better, stronger word.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Ahh.... lovely z-pack Jan, well, at least it usually works :-/

Schicken, i have been there. So, I know how it goes. The insurance I have now is my own policy, but I don't regret it now as I would have been many more thousands of dollars in debt when i had a run in with pulmonary emboli a couple years ago. I was really questioning whether or not I wanted to keep up with my insurance because of the cost, but I'm sooooo glad that I did. I didn't have insurance for about 8 years, that was not good.

I'm glad I was there to hear that Willie!

Oh well - life goes on.

Here is one thing that has me livid. Pillsbury cresent rolls. The can is 3-1/2" high. The baking directions are in an area that measures 3/4 of and inch by an inch! Now I took pictures showing a toothpick with the size of the type. How is a person gonna read that with no glasses?

"Retard" has been a pet peeve of mine for years.

My sister, whom my parents adopted, and is one year older than I, we conclude was a botched attempted abortion. A lawyer cheating on his wife got the g/f pregnant type a deal. Any way, she has some issues with cleft palette and speech problems, and a slightly lower IQ than most of the classmates. Nothing too major. Though she already has debilitating arthritis and she is only 44.

I can't tell you the number of times I got into fist-a-cuffs over that word, and others .... like fish-face .... frankenstein-face .... etc.

That's why I am so intolerant of the intolerant!

I hope I am not being a downer here. My sister was and still is the sweetest person on Earth who cares deeply about all people, even those who were teasing her. Never once did I see her cry about it. Now me on the other had, got furious and red-faced!

Now with a dime

Sherrie: I would have to take my glasses off and read it like our NY Governor, David Paterson!

Like, 1/2 an inch from my face.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

No, you're not being a downer Willie. More folks need to know the real people that they're saying things like that too. Unfortunately those are not the types here reading this. That whole scenario of your sisters is really tough. I would be so peeved if oneone said stuff to her.

Schicken.... i would also be slightly peeved at those instructions. That's silly.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I certainly can understand your anger, Willie.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

I know, do what you just did.... put the picture of the instrucions on your computer and then enlarge the pic to a readible size!!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Willie, reading that story of your sister just made my temperature go up again. This is good! it's more proof for the doctor!!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Shelly and Jan - sure hope you both feel better very soon! No fair to be sick on your birthday, Shelly!

Willie - "geeze, Louise......."LOL!! That was sweet. Tee Hee.

We went to see the Red Sox play the Puerta Rican National Team today, and it was a very good game. The PR team won, and they were quite good. Usually I hear people hacking all around us and I get very nervous. Today, no one in our area seemed to be sick. I broke down and got a flu shot 2 weeks ago when I read how terrible the flu strain A is.

I hope Celeste is feeling better now too. You guys stay warm and take it slow so you'll get better sooner than later!

Geeze Louise

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

That IS a good idea, Shelly! Enlarge it up good and big!

We LOVE ALL our Weezie's here!!!

Luckily, the school principal was very understanding and stood behind my sister. I, on the other hand sat in detention often! usually WITH the jerk name-callers. I am MUCH better at controlling myself now that I am .... um ..... mature? LOL

Luckily for me, my sister had a girl friend who took care of the catty girls so I wouldn't have to. She was a real bruiser, too!

We had a pact. I can't go around hitting girls, now, can I?

Hard to believe that was happening in high school!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Funny trying to picture you sitting in detention, Willie!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

If you knew me, you would say .... ah, Willie! Right at home, eh??

LOL

Edited to add: I was that friend who would start all the plans or instigations and be the only one in the group not to get caught and in trouble! The original Slick Willie!

That's ok, Willie......you're just as lovable even if you are a Slick Willie! I wonder if you and Victor ever ran into each other in that slammer where I first met Victor?????

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Oops, RedChic...
How did I miss this?? I hope you are still celebrating. Happy Late Birthday, and many many more.

I love all your photos, thank you for sharing!

DB, You were in the slammer with Victor and Willie??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hi Sharon!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Hey Victor...
Anything blooming up there?

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

She was leading the pack!!! ^_^

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

No no........I was the warden!!!! LOL

Hi there, Sharon! How are things in Kentucky these days???

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Hi DB.....
Thought you might have been. Keeping the terrible twosome out of trouble.

KY is about 65 this week...not so bad. Limbs and branches still here though. We have them piled beside the road.....no one can even see the traffic on the street for the mile high piles of limbs. I feel like I am driving through a tunnel when I go in or out.

But...little green things are happening, and the daffs are ready to bloom. How about you?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sharon - just snowdrops so far. Hellebores about to start.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I'm right there with you Willie.....I mean Slick :) I despise it when people use duragatory terms to refer to any other human. A lot of that is due to the way I was raised. We would certainly get in big trouble for using profane language ( my mother will now occasionally use the "s" word) but using a word like retard or any other degrading slang term was HUGE trouble. She didn't tolerate it, we didn't do it and now I can't tolerate it.

Everyone under the weather get well quickly. I did notice that since I have left the retail world I have not had a cold or bronchitis once! I had one customer that was coughing and covered his mouth.....with his money and then handed it to me. Jeez Louise!!(my dentist manages to squeeze that in at every visit) Ugh, I was sick a day later!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Sharon, you are way ahead of me. Even though it was quite warm today, the snow is still piled up.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yuck!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Yes, Yuck, Venu.....we hardly had snow, just the ice 37 days ago, with a couple inches snow on top. That went away quickly though...but it didn't seem quick at the time. My hellebores Victor, have lots of new growth, not a bloom yet, though, maybe soon. They were under limbs for a couple of weeks...so that might have scared them a little.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We're supposed to be in the 60's on the weekend. I don't want to see any snow!! Especially since the town and my private plow guy have ripped up so much.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Well, Sharon, I have to say that getting more snow in the first week of March than we did all winter was a bit disheartening. However, it was better than the ice storms that seemed to surround me. They are beautiful the next morning, but far too destructive. I'd rather shovel than clean up after the broken trees and sometimes broken homes.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

60's forecast here too. I can't wait to feel that sun on my face!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

yep, you are so right about that. I am still picking up sticks, and still have the top of my riverbirch just hanging. For some reason my tree guy just totally over looked it.

I can see me about 30 feet in the air, hanging on to a spindly river birch, and dealing with a chain saw.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Sharran - so sorry you're still having that winter weather. I'd love to see pictures of your debris tunnel, though.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Kathy...tomorrow for sure, think the wind today would blow the camera right outta my hand. Well...maybe not, I'll go see.

Venu...I hope it stays warm for you, and for all of us. I am so tired of winter.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

It has been a long winter, hasn't it? I thought it may have been me, but I hear so many other people say the same thing. What made it so l-o-n-g this year?
