Good job Larry.
North CENTRAL TX RU **April 5th ** in ARL>>> (TRADES #2)
Thanks guys.......Just because they are putting out leaves doesn't mean they rooted. That just means there was enough food in the stems to feed the buds and the humidity is ok. I am keeping the cuttings under domes. I will not hold my breath. Having leaves is better than not leafing out. If the leaves are still holding in April I will feel better about possible success.
Those are looking pretty good Larry. If they aren't ready for April, there is always another RU in October. I would love one if they take, see if I have anything listed you would want in trade.
Carla....I would like a Cowpen Daisy plant, what can I put you down for?
Sheila I will put you on the list for one. I have no clue as to how long the rooting process will take. It always takes longer than I want I have noticed. Now for my daily rant. I hate cold. It is 32 here this morning.
Thanks Larry!
I feel your cold. It is 37 here with a cold rain and wind all day yesterday; woke up to more of the same this morning. Thankfully I had moved plants that I had out back in the shop/shed yesterday morning during a break in the rain.
Well, I left mine out hoping it won't get down to 32 I have bronchitis right now and can't be out there in the cold rain, but if it threatens to go that low tonight maybe Frank will be able to bring them in, we shall see.
Josephine.
I hope you're feeling better soon, Josephine.
GB
Thank you GB, I am improving somewhat, I coughed so much and so hard my chest and stomach muscles are very sore, but I slept better last night.
Josephine, you be careful with that upper resp thing. My DH and I have been sick for 2 1/2 weeks with it. He had to go to the doc cuz he has such a challenged immune system, that his wasn't getting any better. Mine is clearing up finally. I still have a little cough, but I am starting to feel human again.
We lost a few things in the gh due to not being able to open/close at the right time and some things cooked and some things chilled. We just weren't able to get out there. Most of my seeds that I started all failed.
Oh well, I will start again and it will just be a little later.
Just be careful and don't let it get too bad. DH had to get prednisone to clear his and he is still very sick. The prednisone has helped some, but he is still no where near the recovery stage that I am at. I just took mucinex dm for mine.
Charlene
Sheila, I'll bring you a couple of Cowpen Daisy seedlings. Right now I don't need/want anything ... but I'll bet that will change as my flowerbeds start to really get growing! :-)
Josephine & Charlene, I hope you're better soon.
Carla
Thank you Charlene and Carla, and I hope your husband recovers soon Charlene,
Sorry you are under the weather Josephine. I had that in January / February. It makes it so hard for you or your partner to get any sleep. The more I talked the more I coughed also. Hope you get to feeling better soon. If you need help, please call and let me know.
Charlene take care of yourself and the DH, this is nasty weather and would make anyone sick!!
I picked up our name tags today for the RU and will get those printed. I guess I need to start a thread for food soon, and then do final confirmation at the end of the month.
We have less than a month to go!!!!
Oops!...thanks Carla!

Okay, I have been trying to catch up on my reading & I am a very slow reader!
In one of these RU threads, some one was wanting Belinda's Dream!!!
Was that Arl, Jax, or CS?
Going to Palacios to see my folks Sat @ little brother's & the BD I gave him yrs ago, is as tall as his house!
Will take cuttings if there is any interest!
LMK
I believe it is Charlene looking for it.

Smockette I would like some. Ted
Smokette, it is me that is looking for Belinda's dream. I thank you in advance. Give your little brother a hug and the rest of the folks too! Have a safe trip.
Charlene
Joshephine - do you have any red turks cap left to trade? I'd love to try it out (never grown turks cap before). Also, please take a look at my list to see if there's something I can set aside for you.
Jennifer
Jennifer,
If Josephine doesn't have any, I do.
Lizzy
I do have red Turk's cap, I will put you down for two, and if you still have them could I have 2 of your tuberoses? I love their scent.
Josephine.
Uh oh! Jenepat, I see tuberose is white and lovely. If you have another would love to trade.
TexasLizzy, have been meaning to ask you if there was something you wanted when you dropped by last fall.
Thanks Josephine. And yes, I'll set 2 of the tuberoses aside for you. They should be arriving next week from my co-op order. I can't wait for the scent also!
Lizzy - thanks for the offer for Turks Cap. I think the two Josephine is bringing me is probably enough. But I wouldn't mind getting your Beebalm (Monarda) if you still have it available. If there's anything I can set aside for you, let me know!
O.K. Jenepat we have a deal.
Jenepat..I am not sure if you have anymore tuberose. If you do I would love to trade with you, if not, don't worry.
Sure Anna - I have one tuberose left and it now has your name on it! Do you have any more green & pink potato vine to trade? If so, I'd love some.
Datura12 - any chance I could get one of your Twisted Yucca's? I think it would look really cool in my new bed. I don't seem to have anything in your WANT list, but if you see anything else I have that you'd like just ask!
Thanks!
Jennifer
Yes I was able to divide the cutting. It is yours! I have an extra phlox if you want as well. Thanks
Anna - you talked me into it...I'd love to try out the phlox too. :)
Did i hear someone giving away Lady in Red, Black and Blue, Oxeyed Daises and that purple thingy?
Sylvia, I have an ox-eyed daisy if you want it. I can also try to root Black & Blue--if it stops raining!
What purple thingy?
I would like some ox-eyed daisy from you Pattie. Take a look at my list.
Sylvia, I have 'Lady in Red' salvia on my trade list and can bring you some. I saw some leaves on the mature plants a couple of days ago since the rain started, so there should be little ones coming out too. How many can you use? Ask Kim about some black and blue for the CSRU in May. I had some, but it has all died for the second time.
Sylvia - I have you down for some black and blue salvia
Anna, Goodness your yard was lovely and there were so many things in the shade up front. You are bringing the native columbine for me? Was there anything I had that you wanted?
Jenepat, of course, I have plenty of monarda! I will look what you have.
Thanks Lizzy - just let me know!
Texas Lizzy....Is your Monarda somthing other than 'Rasberry Wine'? If so can I get that and bring you something?
Sheila, could I get a lamium and an Easter lily from you? What kinds of plants are you looking for this spring?
Stephanie, I have Mexican mint marigolds that I can bring for you if you still want some. Could I have a Katie pink ruellia and, if you have another, a 'May Night' salvia?
Pattie, I'd love to have one of each of the achilleas on your list. Thank you for the 'Jiffy Lube' coleus! I've been wanting some bright yellow.
Pat...I will put you down for the Lamium and the Easter lily. I would love to have a Mexican Hat, I got one last year and a stupid squirrel dug it up and I didn't notice until it was too late. If you have a liatris extra, would love it too.
Got you down for the yarrows, Pat. I still am not seeing any signs of life from my Lady in Red, so if you find seedlings, would you please bring one for me too?
Sheila, got you for the ox-eyed daisy. I'll look at your list. Would you by any chance like some of your EE's back? (LOL.) Oh! I know. Do you have any of your Raspberry Wine monarda to share? It looks like my Jacob Klines aren't coming back this year.

Pattie....Yes, they are still very small but mine came back. Don't have enough right now to add to my list, but I will put you one aside.
Oh, and I will pass on the EEs!!! My neighbor loaded me up one year with those. Then the next year I though I had lost a lot of them and took more. Not so....I don't think I will ever be short of them again. He asked me again if I wanted EE and I almost yelled at him!!! LOL! He is the one that gave me horsetail too. I messed up and planted that in the ground next to my waterfall. It took us forever to figure out where the leak was. The darned thing and went under the 45mil liner and forced it's way up through the sealant at the biofalls edge. I dug horsetail out of my beds for days to get rid of it. I loved the look but only in a container.
