Ha so funny here today. There's a lot of small birds in the yard and their having so much trouble flying around with the high wind gusts we're having.
I just watched one get blown back onto a feeder twice after trying to fly away.
Nice shots onewish! Those Tufted Titmouse are adorable.
Love the Cardinal Rose great picture!!
Lucky you on the Rufous Hummingbird Duc, I knew I wanted to get to California for a reason!!
Wish, your little Titmouse is so sweet!! It looks like he is peeking out of the corner of his eye!
It probably seems as if I've been MIA. I haven't had a whole lot to post, but have been watching. What a fantastic lot of birds. Rose, I'd like to book two weeks in the brush pile in late spring please. Welcome dirt and Bill. Looking forward to the Costa Rica thread. 2vernes, I loved the Cedar Waxwings from a couple of threads ago.
I went to the other side of the bay yesterday. I've never seen this bird before and it's the best picture I was able to get, shooting into the very late morning sun. I thought it may have been a Yellow-plumed Honeyeater, but now I'm not sure. Any ideas Resin? It was probably 5" long, including tail.
There was also a family of Fairy Wrens there. I saw them a few weeks ago and the colouring on the male was more marked than it was yesterday. They are difficult to photograph because they are so active and so tiny. They were aware of my presence and even hopped around on the grass at the edge of the dense scrub. Couldn't get any photos of them in the grass, because even though the grass was short, it was longer than them. Resin?
I love the Fairy Wrens! Nice shots Margaret!
