Clearing the driveway became neighborhood romp in the snow with all the "neighborhood kids" taking part.

Where do you throw it when you have so much, Joy?!!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

thats just like my place last year we got over 14 feet before it started to melt lol it was so bad most streets in town you could not see the houses anymore

this year we had a thaw in december and another in january which helped each time it went down about 2.5 feet so we dont have as much as you

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

OMG... I could never live there

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me neither.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Holy Moly!!!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

actually last winter was not cold just that it never stoped snowing lol for weeks on end it just snowed

this year less snow but extreme cold

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

actually not much difference in the weather from southern canada to Northern US the zones are the same zone 5 to 7

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i bet celeste had snow like that last year - when it gets like that here you shovel the top of the piles down so you get new stuff up there.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

at my house its not a problem lots or room and the farmer comes with the big blower and he send the snow into the woods, but in the city the side street go so bad no bus could go in and it was down to one lane and some places had mounds 20 to 30 feet high crazy stuff but when it melted lost of people got water in the basements me Im lucky
house built on a large rock about 6 feet up from the rest of the land so no water but some neighbors had major problems with water just pooring into the basement windows but that was the worst winter for snow since 1972

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

big difference in the snow totals Scicci.... might be close to the same temps... but no way could I function with that much snow

South Hamilton, MA

We had several large storms here, but melt inbetween so not as much at once. At least it doesn't come from east & west at once, so no big pileup like that.

I would invite Satan to live in the driveway for a day.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hell on wheels?

Not no match box thats for sure :-)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh Joy!
It used to be that way here when I was growing up!! I haven't seen that since I was 15!!!!!! I remember my brothers jumping out the second story window in order to dig out the door.

Ah shucks!! I should be sending my condolence's, sorry!! I of all people should know better. lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

down in new brunswick I can remember when I was ten we had so much snow that we got into trouble because we used the hydro wire for a swing when mom saw us she had a birds, we told her mom its ok in the center she didnt want to hear it she wanted us away from the wires man we did crazy things as kids

all the schools closed for two weeks since it was not possible for snow plows to pass the big cutters had to open the roads

must have been over 20 feet of show one storm lasted five days and dumped about 8 feet

we do not see winters like that anymore and not in ontario lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Rufous is not a dog?!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

:::bowing head:::

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

isnt that the name of a type of hummer

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yes it's a hummer

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

thought so have them at my house from mid may to mid september actually 4 different kinds show

I just love them

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wow that's a lot of snow.

The hummer's hang out in my neighbor's yard...I need to get some plants to attract them over here...for some reason they didn't go for the hummer feeder.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I have all kinds of feeders but they all fight for the same one got it at walmart its glass with a red top and red flowers on it and they just love it

South Hamilton, MA

Got annoyed with a hummer which flew past my bee balm, planted especially & went to the hosta. It evidently was a non-reader & passed up the 'attracting birds' book.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

lol maybe he was there ealier and knew it was time to find something else hahahhaha
mine come in have a few sips from the feeder then they do the rounds of the garden and then always come back to the feeding when they have checked out every flower around

South Hamilton, MA

But bee balm tastes very good & I paid money for it, Mr. Bird. The hosta snuck in when I wasn't looking.

Fredericton N B, Canada(Zone 4a)

Victor are you "funning"me with this talk of hummers? The weather girl. is promising another 15 to 20 Cm over the next few days.I will be celebrating my 80th birthday on Monday and the weather should be .sunny.
