This is/WAS my 8 foot Holly Bush...not looking good. I hope it bounces back but I fear it's going to need a severe trim job.

Wow--wet, blowy snow---we only got an inch---rained & snowed all day--now the driveway is a skating rink! Windy---was really howling during the night!

Oooh--poor holly!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh boy.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

it was 21 here this morning - and we only ended up with an inch of snow with an frozen slush coating underneath -

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

celeste it looks like a winter wonder land - the holly bush will bounce back - might need to be staked

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My brother and DD just called...DD has no power and DB has 20 " of snow. There was a few curse words towards the snow thrown in during our conversations! lol

Can't blame you!

South Hamilton, MA

We got less than an inch, but very high winds last night & this morning (now). 32 degrees. Pixie, go back inside & read Whittier's 'Snowbound'. It might make you feel better. I would put my money on the holly tree bouncing back vs the lower willow branches. Our sweet fern shrub has shoveled snow plopped on it because of its location, but is usually ok. The one part which needs help dh has tied up with a flexible cord.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

It's so pretty, but ..... when enough is enough ..... it's ENOUGH!, eh Celeste?

We're supposed to be in for another 6-8 inches, but south of Buffalo, where the REAL snow falls.

Come on that is just lake effects!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

its still cold and cloudy and windy and yucky lalallalalala spring where are you lalallalala

South Hamilton, MA

Weather report said that Bridgeton ME got 24". Is that anywhere near you, Pixie? What little that fell last night has melted again. Nasty wind though. DH has to help with groups coming for 'sugaring off' tomorrow & Wed. they have some saved sap which is good ,because I don't think the sap will be running, ha ha. Perhaps next week.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wow Celeste, you can send some to me....it is very pretty.

We only had rain yesterday and not even a lot of it... then the sun came out just in time to set....
Very windy today 25 with the wind chill

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Well at 12:41 this afternoon we lost power...just got it back. Very lucky as there are still 100,000 with out. We have had to ask for some help from other states with the line work.....it's a mess here!
Both bridges going into Portland were closed due to one malfunctioning and the other dropped a hole through it. I think I passed on my bad luck to the entire state!!!!!!!

This white mess of sticks WAS my White Lilac and Mock Orange Tree.

I'm still not quite right belly wise but doing better , thanks for asking.

2 Apple Tree's and a Plum

Thumbnail by pixie62560
Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

last year we lost many apple trees that did not make it I think because of the big thaw in January had about a foot of water and then it froze solid all the one that had the water are now dead ah well it will make good firewood for next year

we decided we will just clear the area and make new flower beds we will dump lots of soil and edge them with stone to keep the water out of them

South Hamilton, MA

Hope that melting starts soon & you don't have the ice storm problems which beset N. MA & S. NH. Do you really want to go to Portland?

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

that is the next thing on the weather agenda lol march is ice storm season my way it usually starts anytime after valentines day and goes till the first week of april, so time will tell on how much hail, sleet and ice we will get this time anywhere from a couple of inches to a couple of feet lol at that point there will be no hydro lines left standing like 11 years ago it took 6 weeks for some areas to get power back up and running

oh well its the final yuk before the real spring comes in april

mona

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nope, don't want to go to Portland, but DD Fiance works there.
Parts of Northern Maine recieved 30 inches of snow, Southern Parts 4" .

editied because that was way off...........
