WHAT???!!!!! That is INSANE!
Of course my sil and bil had to get just a door and frame fixed since it was leaking. They were charged $3000.00 just for that 1/2 day job...I told my hubby we're not charging our customers enough....lol
Garden Photos of '09......#4
NO WAY!!!!! Maybe it came with a grill chef and a waiter?
That sounds ridiculous. My huge patio was half of that.
Maybe for an outdoor kitchen...but yikes just for the patio.
and that included the non-slip dance floor material too!
that is why you get more than one quote - sometimes people have zip code issues - affluent town price goes up
Hee hee - true, dnut. They even threw in the sparkly disco ball.
oooooo have you got the white suit Victor or are you a tux man?
Can't believe all the almost- spring photos! My hellebore has green leaves--that's it, plus the mystery bulbs by the garage--usually my daffs and crocus are popping up on the south side by now---maybe later this week----warn rain coming.
Leisure suit, of course.
Forgot to mention earlier - now don't kill me - that I also have daylily foliage growing.
I know what you're saying about the zip code issue. The first guy that came by kept talking about all the jobs he's done in Sands Point and that the house was being featured in House magazine...blah, blah, blah. Sands Point has housed listed for 30 million. We have the same zip code but they are a separate village with their own private police force paid for by association dues. All I kept thinking when he was talking about Sands Point is $$$$ not necessarily quality.
lol some people money is everything, I just would like enought to fix my roof hahahha
Do a thatched roof!
its now passed that point with the last wind storm so many shingle bite the dust before next winter we have to do it and it is going to be big money since it has four different sections large roof quoats eight to ten thousand lol that is going to hurt plus we need four windows for the basement so add another two thousand for that lol
elephant head amaranth??? have to look that one up
nice shots Victor!
edit -- flower looks like you giving someone the finger... cool

that is a cool plant I grow the love lies bleeding which is just the skinny rope type same color but the elephant one is cool
I had LLB in three colors last year.... they don't do great for me.... but I still like them
I do see a little green where my daylilies are.
i started them earlier this year - the plant last year did not get more than 3 ft tall - supposed to get 6 i believe
Thanks Allison. I grew short LLB one year. It was very invasive.
Wow, Joy, your 'weed' keeps getting worse! Spring is coming your way. There is hope!
Amaranth really looks weird to me.
Karen
dnut we spell color without the u :)
I ripped them out before they went to seed Victor.... as soon as i see brown form on the seed heads.. they were gone... the only one that went to seed is in the container.. there are thousands of seeds on those things... I can see why it can be a problem... I had some self sow but they are easy to pull out if not in a good spot.. I threw them out in the woods behind the house... they won't get enough sun back there to do any damage
Bill, you do if your French, I totally understood. LOL
well actually it is all of Europe - i do not understand why - the u is not even pronounced - lol
O dear wha I can't help that you spell funny. Blame it on Webster guy. Pardon moi mon ami. I feel for ya. Fortunately we both spell it 'baseball', 'icy soaker' and 'Great Wha Wall' the same ^_^
I think Webster did a good job. Anyway if you can read it, who cares about the spelling. I do enough typos anyhow. My worst problem is hitting the a & s keys ate the same time--I do some revising.
iris MA I am so with you. I constantly edit my dictionaries cuz I like my own words better sometimes.. My favorite Webster quote:
“Language is not an abstract construction of the learned, or of dictionary makers, but is something arising out of the work, needs, ties, joys, affections, tastes, of long generations of humanity, and has its bases broad and low, close to the ground”
no garden pics yet... :( :( :( unless you guys want to see naked and sleepy rose bushes!
I hear ya Kassia sigh.
yeah... even my succulents are begining to show signs of stress!
Have you got any snow to shovel on? I steal snow from non-gardening neighbours in desparate situations. It's a little weird to ask to shovel their lawns but heh, it works when you're the crazy neighbour.
Isn't it great to BE the crazy neighbor. Our bit of snow which fell last night melted again, so we can get on with melting the big piles of dirty stuff.
One last word on the patio price.
I thought it was a zipcode issue too.
How stupid for the salesman to think this zip would pay that price for anything.
Her husband is a salesman. They are young with two gradeschool kids and watch their budget just like everyone else these days.
Same goes for us. Two kids in college.
She yelled "I wouldnt pay half that for a patio"
There I'm done - - - lol
