They just don't understand us gardening types, poor them.
What do you do with extra dirt?
oh yeah, that's a nice one! *grin*
That's SO funny, I have 2 girls who pick up rocks from EVERYWHERE lol I didn't even THINK they were getting it from me hahaha We went to a beach and came home with a cooler of rocks! My husband thought we were nuts!
Years ago, my sister got stopped at airport check-in, they asked if she had rocks in her suitcase because it was so heavy. She was really embarrassed when she had to say yes. There aren't any rocks where she lives.
My cousin Maggie lives in Alaska and I keep telling her to mail me some rock from there....LOL.
I've been watching and enjoying this thread. Like many others, my soil seems to disappear more often than not. However, after working a new bed, we put the "extra" clay to the side and then later amend it 50/50 with humus and use it on the beds that are settling.
We'd love to have some rocks in our yard too but we can't just go get them. We don't have a truck and we live in a large city. Ugh. We would have to buy them and have them delivered.
UGH, paying for rocks just doesn't seem right.
Ahhhh....the "joys" of living in a large city.
