Scicci... I love your kind of seasonal disorder!

Thanks Victor and Robin.
Great Pics Victor, the squirrel with the bad hair is really cute.

So, is there some reason for pinching the dahlia seedlings other than making for a fuller plant later? I just got some seeds, I'm not sure that I'll plant them because I'm going to be gone a lot during March and April and I'm not sure about how I'll take care of them then. But, I might just delve in this weekend and put them with me in the car everywhere I go.

Allison, your Yorkies are cute. They look like the can be a handful at times!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

thank you RC they are my kids.... like most kids they are right now scratching at my feet... saying momma get off there and come play

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

lol... does that work for them?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

RC dahlias can get quite leggy under grow lights.

That's what I was thinking. But, just wanted to make sure. Thanks!

South Hamilton, MA

Our christmas gift 'bulb garden' has finished bloom. I'm ready for outside in spite of snow & 28 degrees.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

just got off the ice/slush of the pond out back cutting up a maple that fell from the ice storm in Dec.
need one more day to get an oak out of there - this one is in the wet land area so water is not deep (I hope)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Put plastic bags over your socks and pant leg and use an elastic to hold them snug to your leg before you put your boots on wha. Works like a charm against icy soakers.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

dnut are you talkin to me or some little kid? if lost i never ask for directions - if on slushy ice i hope for the best:) men do what men do because men do

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

okie dokie wha but don't come crying to me when your toes fall off from an icy soaker.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

of course i will - its what men do

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well I fell into my pond in December a few years back. Pretty funny now. Pretty cold then.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

LOL

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

did you have plastic bags over your socks?

Yes, but I was not wearing the socks.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I like 'men will be men' storys. (snort)

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

what are you talkin about? and don't snort at victor

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

(snicker)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sneeze.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

bless you

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

On second thought wha you might consider a heated scuba suit. Manly overkill.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I jumped right into my hot tub after my spill!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Just shaking head back and forth... :)

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

let's see - walk through my backyard over 2' of snow in a heated scuba suit to stand on ice with water below only a couple feet deep - my neighbors would be thinking like your neighbors about their neighbor if they saw that scene.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I don't think they would wonder - that is, unless you forgot the plastic bags.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

did anyone witness the fall and dip into the hot tub? as long as you didn't get hurt it must have been pretty funny to watch - and quick thinking getting into the hot tub!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

My DH would do it and the guys in the neighbourhood would probably rent suits to help. Manly overkill is big here. That is normal. Dancing and singing - not.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i think the cold up there effects the men - i am a firm believer in underkill

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No witnesses.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Does everyone do that, ya know when you trip or something then look around to see if anyone saw you?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

flowerjen I always look at the ground like there's really a rock there that no one else can see.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I yell at the invisible tripper.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Jack the tripper? I've heard of him

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

D'ya ever walk into a spider web and your waving your arms around like crazy? I saw my hubby do that once...man was that funny!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Nope. That's plain funky weird flowerjen.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Actually the little green catapillers in the black ash weird me out if they land on me and I blieve the giant heebiejeebie earthworms in the compost are plotting against me cuz I feed them to the Robins, but I'm ok with spiders and webs.
