Oops-made another post at the same time you moved us:)

Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

Just popping in for a bit. It's a PD day so there's no school and I'm babysitting too. I managed to get some pictures of the wrap blanket. Sonora was happy to help model it.

First step - There's one side with no snaps on it. This is the bottom.

Thumbnail by gillibean
Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

Second step - Take the snaps at the two bottom corners and snap them together. Then snap together the other snaps that run up either side. There are four pairs of snaps in total.

betty, no when they moved from here he started to eat and put on quite a bit of weight
we saw him last year he came down to visit and we couldnt believe how big he got,
i worry about his dog buddy ,
he went camping several years ago and buddy came wandering into camp he looked and asked but no one knew anything about the dog, he brought him home and those two were unseperable!
his mom and brother will take care of him but i feel for that little guy :(
im still shocked guess you never know when its time.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I got that far-then I got confuddled

Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

Third step - Take the snaps at the two top corners and fold them down to meet their mates just above the last pair of 'side' snaps. This will create arm holes.

Thumbnail by gillibean
Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

Last step - Do up the final pair of snaps - at chest level.

Here's a slightly closer view of the snaps around the waist/chest. All that's left is to get cozy.

We used to have a couple quilted blankets like this growing up. One was all snaps, it had snaps at the feet too. The first one we got had a zipper up the front though with the bottom sewn shut. I remember wearing it and hopping around the house to get from place to place so I could stay nice and warm. We have it at our house now and the kids love it even though it has definitely seen better days. It still keeps us warm though.

THANKS-I am all snapped and cozy now!!LOL The ones that made the armholes is what tripped me up!!

Cardiff, ON(Zone 4a)

No problem, I'm glad I was able to help. I'm not sure I would have figured it out myself except that I remembered how our other ones went together.

Hello all! Spring has sprung here and I'm sure all my little plants will pop their tender heads up and then get decapitated by the evil winter cold in a day or two! Temps here yesterday were in the 70s and very windy! Today, much of the same!

So the pups are doing great. We switched out Miss Hula for her sister Mango on Sunday and she will stay here for a week. I teased Dana that she just wanted to reprogram Hula after 3 weeks with us! Mango is also a sweet girl but definitely a little more high strung then Hula. She doesn't settle down quickly like Hula and when she gets excited (like when I come home from work) she totally goes balistic and only wants to bite my arm and anything else she can grab. I've got a nice bruise on the inside of my forearm where she grabbed me! OUCH! The only thing I do not miss of Hula is she had a bad habit of pooping and peeing on our back porch vs. the yard. But she was a totaly love bug - just lays on you and wants nothing else.

Tomorrow is DH's birthday and I was bad and bought him an iTouch (32gb). Luckily, my neighbor works at Apple and they have a 'friends and family' discount so I got 15% off. We're all going out to dinner tomorrow night and hopefully we can get out early so we don't hit any pre-valentine crowds. DH and I won't do anything on V-day cause it's just so expensive. We do exchange cards and I'll give hima kiss (or two - wink!). We'll do date night next weekend.

My parents are coming up Sat so I know DM and I will hit the quilt store. I have finished another of my wallhangings and have started on the binding for one of the quilts. I need to get another thimble tip for my finger cause the one I had yesterday just up and walked away. I have no idea where it could be except in the innards of a dog and if that's the case, I'll just buy another one!

Well, back to work! Hugs to everyone!!

J

You are too cute Jeannine..lol..omg, bite sounds painful..Happy Birthday to DH..you do spoil him but hey, got to take advantage of th 15% discount right?

I don't know Jeannine why with all the sowing goodies we have why it is we only have one thimble and one seam ripper??? best you go shopping for more..need photo to see your new wallhanging...

Linda Kay, can't seem to copy the photo so will send via e-mail address you gave me....anyone else wanting to see it, just d-mail me your e-mail address...

Oh Good Grief.
OK, so now I have only 37 projects going all at one time, the main one is of course painting my ceiling, but also I wanted to cut squares for the rag quilt. So I went on a search for my old flannel jammy bottoms, and luckily found them. Also found an old red flannel top sheet. So I thought I was set, denim (old jeans) and some blue plaid and dark red plaid flannel jammies.

Do you know how very few 8 inch squares you get from small sized jammie bottoms and jeans. It is going to take me a year to find enough squares to make even just a lap cover. I am going to the thrift shops and get me some big ol jeans and some flannel....Rats! Betty you and your ideas drive me nutz.

Hey, Liz....yep, I still have a mess all over the yard, and with all the rain and 60 mph winds yesterday, it is even a bigger mess. But I am going to nab the nearest guy with a chain saw and will have my garden projects ready to go pretty soon. Flower bed outlines and teepee trellises....that's my plan. Of course I haven't figured out how to get to the tops of the teepees to tie them all together, but maybe a ladder when the ground dries up a bit. I can just seem me on the top of a ladder while the bottom of it sinks slowly into the muddy ground. And I always like to wait to tie them together till I get the bottoms settled, kinda like giant tomato cages. And I can't wait to see my climbing roses on them, but they have to be strong for roses, else they all come tumbling down.

Now back to the itty bitty pieces of flannel. Maybe I should have made my squares 4x4. Nahhhh, that'd take too long and I would not have the patience to finish it. Ahhh, geesh, Betty...you and your projects. It'd be much easier to just get out my paints. Well, actually they are already out....been doing that too. I found an old pair of jeans and decided to paint a trim around the flare at the bottoms of the legs....yep, back to my old hippie days. One thing leads to another.....to another.....
Just wait, I am going to send you a picture of my kitchen table...not even my craft table, cause it has the ceiling paint on it.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

And my table....well, since I rarely eat, who cares.....
and if you notice the pile of old jeans is not there, they are on the floor and Jazzy cat is sleeping soundly on top.

But Trisha....notice the light bulbs, well, there's that too. All that stuff is at least in the basket.

I gotta get a life.

Join the crowd Sharon!!! I am with you. BEV

Victoria Harbour, ON

Love the lightbulbs Shar...you have me laughing..don't blame me, you can get into trouble all on your own, you know that..love some of those jammie patterns..now off you go to Joanne's Fabrics..know in N.Y. (Buffalo) they had yardage on for $2.49..either that or a Value Village of sorts...just imagine how much on a stormy night you'll enjoy cuddling under the blankie...

As for the table, well as you know I've a large craft room, 6 tables - 3 sets of 2 and wouldn't you know, my dining room table this morning has projects that I have to give varnish too so regardless of how many tables you have, a crafter will always find time to fill them all...

Best Shar you stay OFF the ladders...I was thinking, if you could find someone to cut a few circles out of wood (or maybe you can do it on your own if you've tools) and drill 3 or 4 holes that would accommodate branch width you could push each branch top into a hole and then place where you want the bottom into the ground..hmmm not sure if that made any sense...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Hi everyone, running to get the last few things done (Lunch for DH...dog walked) before taking mom for her knee surgery.....hope this gets her back to normal, for both our sakes

Shar, looks like a normal dining table to me....why do they call it a "Dining" table? We do our Dining at the breakfast bar, or more likely on our lap in front of the TV at the hour we finally get to eat....

Have to run but your comment on the jeans reminded me of this....

Love the bell bottoms....and get 'em when I find 'em. And that's the widest part of the jeans btw. I hate to cut up my favorite bell bottoms. These days they call them flares.

And yes, looks like Jazz, but he's more golden, I would send a photo, cause he's still there, but batteries are down on my camera, and time for a recharge.

Betty, we only have one good fabric store, Hancock's...and it is about 20 miles away. Not in the mood to go shopping today. But I'll try to get more squares cut and see where that leaves me, then maybe shopping. I do have that huge red flannel sheet.

Ladders...we'll see, but I do like your idea of the round wood block. It might make it too heavy to work though, and pull the tops down. Not sure, will have to try. I just have the jig saw that son gave me last Christmas, if you remember. And I do have a nice drill, too. These trees are hardwood, but it might work. Thanks for the idea.

Now back to the ladder and my ceiling......while the table gets covered with an old sheet.

And no, I don't eat at the table either, good thing, too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Shar, the red flannel sheet would be perfect..and I'm sure you'd get enough from it to do your blanket...

Keep plugging..lol

I'm sure looking forward to a long weekend this weekend...I've a few projects I've left aside that I'd like done..before long there will be no time to work inside, all outdoor work..only but a few hours to finish that cafe birdhouse..want to make a little bench for the kitties to get up on to watch the birds, that silk is calling me..window needs a treatment...and then if I truly got bored of my jammies there is always the wood that got cut to size to make mom's faux fireplace...so you can tell I'm feeling much better...anxious to get started...I don't do well when I'm bored..can see Shar you are much the same...

Liz my girlfriend who lives in Ireland just e-mailed me..she got the gift I sent her the day after Christmas..imagine that's 1 1/2 months..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Trisha, when I typed your name I was thinking Laura! I was thinking about both of you at the same time and my brain got confused.

Betty, we can work all the overtime we want but will never get paid for it.

Liz, no one ever called him back and he went to work last night, the good co-worker pulled 10 hrs to cover his swing shift and Dave's graveyard, no manager has ever came to him asking what the problem is, I guess this is why his boss's boss told him she hasn't had a single complain since his boss was let go, just ignore the complaints and they will go away and she has a great record for not having any problems. Nice. The storms back here, unlike California, can come and go in 15 minutes, it took that one about an hour to come and go, but they are more violent.

Nice Tat! Someone is quite the artist. I'm so sorry about your friend, that's horrible. You just never know, do you?

J we do the same thing, miss all of the Valentine crowds. Now that Dave is scheduled 7 days a week with NO days off it's difficult, and he's getting cranky again. I don't know what to do.

Happy Birthday to your DH!

LOL Trisha! My dining table would look the same if I didn't have Dave cleaning it off and nagging about my messes all the time.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Not with my DH...you can eat off the work bench in his shop but everything he brings in the front door goes right on the dining table...and he does not look to see what he is dumping it on....and heaven forbid I move any of it to another room......why don't I move MY stuff....well I try explaining he has a Workshop......I have the dining table.......does not compute...

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, I have not started my rag quilt yet! I knew if I didn'y do the quillow first that I wouldn't do it! I should have it finished in a few days, then I'll go for it!
Sharan, don't fasten the wood rounds to the ladder, make them big enough that it wont slide off, and just set the ladder on top of them! Or, lay down a piece of plywood!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Shar-I am so wanting to try the lightbulbs!!

Betty-I posted on the 7item:)

Laura-so glad to hear your brother is OK!!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

ugh! LOLOL! thanks!

the thread I read on the overalls had some glue/starch stuff that you dip the jeans into ...?

then you put cement in the sneakers and rebar, to hold it all together.... thought there was cement in the inside of the planter too...but maybe my memory is gone! lol!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

I don't know about the thread, I just knew about the article.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Laura so happy to hear that your brother is safe!!!

Well se were supposed to go in at one forty five for mom's surgery. At twelve fifteen they called and wanted to know if we come in then. So off we went! Everything went great, had the surgery, went to pick up prescriptions on the other side of town and were back home before four thirty! She is tucked in under her warm blankie for a rest. Have made all the phone calls now I can take break. Says she should be back driving by about Tuesday. Due to strong pain meds I will be spending the night here.

Sunny all day, now the clouds are coming in....they say we may get a few snow showers.

Have to wake mom up for food and pain meds in half and hour so guess I sould look and see what we are having?

Have a good night all.
