HGran: Dg'er Kell posted a pic in Plant Files under 'Rasta' and she said it's sold where she lives as "Twister". I'm wondering if they are the same? Your plant looks a lot different, much tighter twists than my Rasta had. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/162725/
You need to upload that photo of your beautiful plant to Plant Files.
February II Blooms
I agree Gran.Your plant has such a special look!
Lynn
When I first saw the plant I thought it was called "twisted lipstick" somehow I liked that better than just twister--OH Well
edited to add-- Lin I think it is the same as your rasta-- probably depends on who marketed it-this is an Exotic Angel plant. btw yours was gorgeous in bloom-- I can't wait!

I love your new "Twister", HGran. Very cool looking and I agree with Lin, it's so neat even without blooms.
Phoebesviolets, your sinningia CindyElla is lovely. What a pretty color. Very charming.
I think old fashioned 'U' shaped hairpins can be found at a beauty supply also.
Lin, someday I'll have to get some of those cute micro mini sinningias. Cute as can be.
It Makes Scents can be appreciated from a distance. But then , I had 6 of them blooming at once.
Gorgeous Nichole!!
Wow, Nichole. What pretties!. I love BonBon and Wrangler's Spanish Cavalier.
Nichole,They are all beauties.I love the color of Vintage Wine and Saddleshoes is a cutie.Lynn
Well, say goodbye to those blooms, cause I've got to start disbudding for the show in May . . .
You better hurry! Good luck on your timing.........that is always hard. Some people disbud for up to 12 or 16 weeks before I think.
I took my Tiny Wood Trail to the meeting last night, to see if anyone had suggestions on how to get it to bloom. Ken said it's got nice shape, etc. and to pull any buds from it. I asked "why", and he said for the show. I hadn't even thought about entering that one . . . couldn't hurt to try, though.
Enter everything they tell you to.........I have only done it once, but I took everything that might be a possibility and Marjorie told me what to enter and where. That helps because i don't know what the judges are looking for.
Oh, that reminds me! I still need to watch that other CD I borrowed from you!
I told Ken I would take pictures of the plants I am wanting to enter to next months meeting . . . so they can help me pick. I have an idea on some, but they were part of the "incident", so I will need to see if any leaves grow in the next few weeks.
If you are willing to sell your plants at the av sale while the show is going on, take everything.........let ken or someone tell you what to enter and sell the others.........it is fun to get to start over with new plants.......and you get money!
Last year I sold over 30 streps alone. It was so much fun and I only entered 3 streps along with other gessies.
I AM going to take alot! Not only do I have somewhere over 200 baby plants - so far, but any of the episcia's, kohleria's, etc. that have not sold on the Marketplace (or the other site) may go as well. That way, I can start concentrating on November.
When Syrumani posted her picture of Spanish Cavalier, it prompted me to take a picture of the one she sent to me in a trade last year. It is my all time favorite. ( I don't have many to chose from. LOL) I adore the pink foliage on it and the bloom also. The others I have are NOIDs , but I love them too. LOL Lou
PS Thanks again Syrumani!
Lou, you fooled me. I didn't know you had so many pretty african violets. Good for you!
Oh Lou,how pretty!
Lynn
Nicole, When you say Ken, is that Ken Stork?
Lou, where did you find so many gorgeous noids? They are so pretty!
No, the Ken I mentioned is Ken Froboese(?) from the Hill Country African Violet & Nursery. He's the guy in Boerne that Gail has mentioned in some of her nursery tours . . .
Syrumani, stunning violet photos!
Dispatcher1, Spanish Cavalier makes my heart go pitter patter!
:)
Phoebe, the NOIDS were grocery store rescues that looked 3/4 dead and sold for 1.oo each.LOL They recovered and have been well worth the buck for their blooms this winter. Lou
Huh!--we have those also--but they are never THAT fancy--and seldom variegated, and I never see any mini's. Yours are so pretty--don't you love a good rescue? LOL!
Syru, - I don't recall having heard his name before, but from the things you and Gail have discussed about him, sounds like he knows his stuff!
BTW--your plants are luverly!
Thanks! You know, even after the incident, I think I will still be able to choose from quite a few plants to enter in the show. It will depend on a few factors, but we shall see!
