Still---a lot of work potting up the cuttings! Love the Fishnet one. I'm not ordering anything online until my E-mail account is straightened out---went to a new carrier last week, the installer put in a pin number without telling me--can't set up the new account until they send me the pin---oh, well. This guy was a weirdo--told us how he found $18,000 in someone's drop ceiling, & the woman gave him a reward. Told him it was not happening here, & to NOT go near airedale in back yard, because he's so vicious--I feel very safe with that dog---he was really carrying on when the guy was installing lines outside. Hope he got the message.
What have you ordered for spring 2009 - Part III
Thanks Jo Ann. I just ordered both!
Onewish, 100 cuttings was just a tad bit outside my limit. I went with Rosy Dawn.
it is a lot of work... i did a bunch alone last year... but not this many... gotta go cut my fingernails off .. these cuttings are so tiny don't want to mess them up... after this cup of coffee is gone you guys might not see me for a few hours when I take a break... so much to do... I AM NOT READY... after the nails are gone I am going to start filling trays.... the fed-ex tracking says 10:30... the good thing is Randy is a good tray filler... if I need more he always helps
100 .... BAH... we have 1600 coming today... LOL... anyone that lives nearby wants to come and get some cuttings and help plug away... feel free... my breakdown has begun
I did do 500 last year by myself... but this is a tad more than that... Michele is going to come tomorrow and help
I potted some up last year when they were small and had some roots.... and some I left in the flats... just pulled a chunk out last year after hardening off and they were all fine... there is 100 of each kind if I loose a few I am still ahead of the game... good odds for the price
ok now that I am looking through the photos ... I didn't put 100 in each flat... maybe 50... depending on the size of the cutting... and i had the spares sitting in water gels waiting for there turn to be planted
edit.. now you know how I had so many plants to share at the RU

Wow - way too much work for me!
ok bring on the truck... I am ready!!!
got about 10 trays ready (Randy can help with the rest).... and two big sterno pans full of gels waiting for the babies to get a drink
See you next week.
LOL
i placed a new order last night - an oil burner - $$$$ - fortunately i have a friend who will sell boiler and parts for cost and give me a break on labor. still not a planned expense - needs to be done as the 14 yr. old unit has sprung a leak and i'm mopping up water twice a day.
on the plus side the original unit was in the middle of the basement where the chimney is - we are having it moved to a wall to give me more space down there.
if anyone has a burnham oil burner model V73 be ready with towels - evidently they had a poor manufacturing process and have replaced tens of thousands - and if your not the original owner no warranty. although up to a year or so ago they where covering them.
that's terrible... sorry to hear that
thx - we'll be ok and glad to have it out of the middle of the basement.
good luck with all that planting - my back does not hold up well to that type of work - i'd have to have my wife down every 1/2 hour to walk on it to keep me going.
send her over!!!
well that might prove to be difficult - i do have to resort to a certain amount of begging and honey-do's - i'm thinking you could get randy to help you out.
he would crush me... they are here... talk to you later on
Bummer, Bill. On the plus - the new one will be more efficient.
more efficient and out of the way. always look for that silver lining.
If you lived closer I would come help.....shucks!
you know... sometimes on here you have to weed out good info and bad info... another thread I was reading about lantana cuttings being shipped... they claimed that they all arrived rotten and rotted the other plants in the box from the emissions they put out.... in my mind I was thinking that they wouldn't ship a cutting that would do that and risk loosing customers... do these look good to you?... they do to me
Looks fine. But what's that smell?
sweeeeet
that would be me Victor...
:)
Randy is a good pit crew... he made me tyson frozen chicken for lunch
Wow, looks like a salad.
You have certainly been busy. Way to go, Randy!! Looking good.
