Welcome 2009 Gift.
There are a few sistahs and a niece that still are waiting for their gifts. Bless them for being so patient. But it will be worth it.. as Maid M. would famously say, "You can't hurry perfection".

Picture is of the first Sistahs Reunion held at Sis Kathy's.

Can't believe we're already in room 100!!!

For our new sistahs and nieces, this actually started for swappers that need a place to hang out. How wonderful, from that idea, it has turned into a place many of us found some sort of solace from the real world...

Sistah Deborah described the functions of this thread well.

"'Sweet Interuption' is because anyone of us can talk about anything except topics that are against DG acceptable use policy.
We have formed a sisterhood where we care about each other, learn about each others lives. Our bond with each includes following the day to day routines, venting those frustrations so sistas can help us cope, as well as helping each other celebrate lifes joys. Some of us post regularly while others pop in from time to time. Irregardless how often, we keep tabs on each other in some way. Some of us know some sistahs a little better than some but that's ok too. We develop close friendship from interacting either by posting here, phone, d-mail, e-mail or cards, and also get togethers when and where possible. "

Morning sistahs !!!

I'm so proud of all of you for all your recent accomplishments. AND I'm so proud to be a part of this group of ladies. I don't know what I ever did before I met you all. Actually, I seriously can't remember what I did before. We were but a few 100 threads ago... now, look at how we've grown!!!

Mike's left for school, and Don's still asleep, and it's soooo quiet right now...
So, I'm going to pour me another cup of coffee... and enjoy until the day get's hectic... gotta plant something today... I'm needing some dirt under my fingernails.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Morning all,
Well Kim is reading a book on flowers and I am sitting here with my water... I am feeling fine and just got a few black and blues from falling... We had a chill day yesterday since we got up at 4 I did try to go back but that did not work either...
Ok here goes Debra, I am so proud of you for stopping the smokes... I am going to give it my best after Kim goes to stop.... I will keep your daughter in my prayers that she gets her house... Where do you get those little guys that are hiding in the ivy? Stacey way to go with your job keep it up you are doing wonderful...
We are running to do a few things this morning and then we are going to play plants if it kills me..LOL
Ok I just wanted to stop in and say hello to all of you.... It is so nice to have Kim here...
Hugs and Love to all,
Susan

MORNINGS SUCK!!!
I have to be in Little Rock for a shot in my spine by 8:20am. I am NOT a morning person. It was still dark when DH woke me to get ready to go. Hate getting up before the butt crack of dawn. If this shot doesn't work to relieve the pain, I am going to make a little dr doll and stick pins in it!
I didn't hear anything about a Valentine Swap.
No body tells me anything. They treat me like a mushroom. Keep me in the dark and feed me sh*t.

Susan and Kim, you all take care, Hope your having a wonderful visit. Where does Kim go from your place? Hope your bruises heal up fast. You have to be careful.
Happy Birthday Tristen, hope you have a GREAT day!

Linda Kay

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thanks for the welcome Linda Kay. My name is Barb and I've lived here in NH for about 25 years. Both my husband, Norm, and I love it. We are in a rural area now with only three traffic lights in town. It's quiet and peaceful. Moved to this part of the state two years ago from a rapidly growing city environment. My interests include quilting, cross stitch, actually most any needlework, reading and of course the computer. We have one "fat cat" named Callie. She is almost 16. Just lost a 17 yr old on New Years. I love to watch the birds and critters in our backyard. With two feet of snow on the ground, we've been trying to feed them all. Even the rodents, squirrels and such, need to eat. Our gardening has been limited as Norm travels and I have breathing issues. Only can do a little at a time. I guess that's why I love the perrenials so much!! I'm looking forward to chatting when I can. I'm involved with the quilting swaps and my machine is downstairs so I switch between the two and check in when I can. Thanks again
Barb

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning,

Deborah, get some suger free hard candies or cough drops to suck on when you think you want a cig. Cough drops curb the appetite, I have a huge bag that I carry around with me.

Stacey good for you, you don't have to go back to that horriable place.

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!!! I am excited!!! I am free, I went to bed with a mile and woke up with one. DH said last night he has missed my smile and glad I found it again!!

Deb-I think one of the things that really got the investigation started is the retaliatory email and the doctoring of my time clock-both of which are strictly prohibited by our corporate policies. And you are right, I am the one that got treated badly and the other gal is treated like an angel since she never went to the higher ups according to the boss. Also the fact that the boss says inappropriate things to us about the the other one is also not allowed by company policy. OO-and the fact that she doesn't fulfil her obligations per her job description. All I want is enough documentation so I can get unemployment. Good job on not smoking-I am SOOOOO proud of you and Judy!!!

I am excited that I will have some time to do spring cleaning, seed starting, organizing, crafting and project organizing while I am putting in resumes....

Welcome Barb-this is one wonderful group of ladies!!! Caring, compassionate and creative!!

LAURA-crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes for you!!!

Donna-oooo-a bday-how awesome!! Have fun and take lots of pics:)

DEB-you HAVE to go to TX-no if ands or buts!! Tell Laryy he doesn't want to see a mad fairy-and if he says no that is what will be on your doorstep ready to hog tie you (with instructions from Kathy of course) and put you in the car!!!

Auntie Cookie-so happy that Kyle is home!! I would offer to babysit, but babies scare me, so I will let Tante Jaye take this one:)

Cathy-you weren't left out on purpose, several threads ago there was a link posted when it started, so please don't feel like that....

Trisha-I am soo jealous of Sage, I have always wanted to rock climb, but the fact that I am scared of heights doesn't help any;)

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Hi Barb! Glad you came over! You've met a couple of the sistah's over on the quilting forum - Marion and Jaye.

DEBORAH - YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you.

Good luck at the doctor today Cathy. Hope you can get some relief.

Hang in there Stacey. It's going to get better very soon!

Donna, give Tristen a big birthday (((hug))).

thanks for the birthday wishes dear sistahs

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

How are you feeling today? Is that incision healing up?

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

A big congratulations to those who have quit smoking. I can be so hard and sometimes people don't understand just HOW hard. You are really doing a very big thing. Be proud of yourselves.

I am also really proud of how my Fairy girl handled herself during these past weeks. She kept her head and dignity and refused to resort to the same nasty tactics of her boss. And when she could have walked out on Monday, she stayed to help another employee and a customer. I think that shows a great deal of dignity and dedication.
Three cheers for Stacey!!!

Coushatta, LA

Good morning!!!!

Happy Birthday Sis Kathy and Tristen!!! So what are your plans on this day? Tristen will be blowing off 7 candles, but Sis.. who's gonna blow those 7 plus 30 more??

Donna take pics of our birthday girl!

LK, have you solved that 30 books of the bible puzzle yet?

Welcome Barb!! Glad to see you here! So sorry about the loss of your furry baby. Phyllis just lost her beagle, Jasmine... and I still mourn over Kumquat. Only animal lovers can understand the bond. But hang around, express yourself on anything allowed by DG :D
Power to the quilters especially if she's a Sistah!!! Lol!!

Yah BJ. We've grown into a very large family! The convenience of having so many like minded ladies in one place!!

Janice, we are all so proud of Stacey... so it's one thousand cheers for Stacey!!! And looks like we're finally getting back the REAL sweet niece!

Cathy, check on the swap forum now and then, especially the link that LK had given. That's where all the swaps are announced. Sistahs who host them do post links here, but not all of us join the swaps. And none will receive invitations through dmails neither. It's up to us to keep an eye out. I think you were ill and when Valentine swap was announced, and haven't been on much.

Susan, take care of those bruises!! We know you'll miss Kim's company.. but at least you get to spend some time with her.

Darn Judy, where were you when I need you yesterday? Cleaning the house is not my forte'!!! I need to do this daily, but some fabrics need my attention!!!! Lol!!!

Kel snored heavily last night and disrupt my sleep Cody. I went back to bed at 5 :( Thank God, I'm not working, if not I'll definitely be fired!!

Would you all believe it is snowing here? Kel just called from MB, and Tina ain't getting any. Supposed to rain soon, so you all know it will be definitely indoors for me today.

Waving at Debra, Deborah, Lisa2 and Cindy!!!

HAPPY B"DAY CUZ !!!!
HAPPY B'DAY LIL TRISTEN !!!

Wish someone had told me earlier, I might have had something special for the birthday girls... sheesh... whose in charge of reminding us, anyway?

Just got Don off to work... now, I'm going to work on this Valentine swap some more... time is running out. Tick tock... Tick tock...

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Happy Birthday Kathy!!!! Wow what a day! Kathy turning 7 plus 30; Tristen turning 7 and my Mom turning 90. Cakes everywhere except at my house.

Tinky, it is so good to have you back. I can feel the fun starting and can see the smile from here. How about a trip to Disney and visiting with Stitch? Interested?

Barb, so very happy to see you drop in here and hoping to see much more of you!! Yeap, this is a great place to be for love, support, laughter, tears, crafting--we just about cover all of it.

Hi Cody, good to know about the chocolate covered cherries. Dark or milk? Thank goodness they are only on the market for a limited time each year. Now if I could just if I could just find a way to limit the sales of the other chocolates----Nope not going there.

Jaye-snow? Windy and cold here also. Not weather you would work outside in so I guess I will spend the better part of the day (what is left) getting cozy with my sewing machine.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Question, I've got a pattern (thanks Cindy) for a baby blanket with a hood attached. What does it mean by the word "Nap" on the pattern instructions. And it says the 5/8 seam allowance is included. Does that mean I can cut the pattern out exactly on the lines?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

This will help you understand 'nap' Sis.
http://sewing.about.com/od/sewingglossaryko/g/Nap.htm

And yes, you can cut on the lines, since the seam allowance is included.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Yes, it means you can cut the pattern out on the outside line as is. Nap is the , okay I am looking for a word--it's nap. Best explained like velvet--if you rub the right side of the fabric one way it is smooth and run it the other way it is rough. If you don't pin your pattern with the tops all going the same way it will show up as one piece lighter than the other or darker as the case maybe. Confusing?

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Jaye!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Jaye, that was so much smarter to do!! Duh, the cold is getting to my brain. Need to go check on Kim, she just came in from school--doesn't look very good.
