Take our survey!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Thank you, Dave....I was getting a little antsy, too.
I am one of those who loves to do surveys!!

Quirky, I know.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

will you post the winners one this thread? just so we can gradulate them ^_^

Well, the winners will be selected at random from their email addresses, and in some cases may not be members already (we opened the survey to both subscribers and non-subscribers and will be drawing winners from both groups).

Perhaps we can post the names of the subscribers who win another year, and keep the non-subscribers' names secret.

Then again, maybe the winners want their privacy secured. I better think on this for a bit before acting.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

lol, I see what you mean!

I talked this over with Terry and we decided to announce the winners' member names for a variety of reasons (mostly to reassure everyone that we made good on our offer!) :-)

Out of all the people who submitted the survey, we randomly selected 25 of them to receive a free year's subscription. Here are the winners!

Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you everyone who took the time to fill out our survey.

In case anyone is curious how the winners were chosen: it was a completely random computer-generated system. The source code for the winner selection is shown below:

$winners = 25;
$data = file_get_contents("list");
$foo = explode("n", $data);
$bar = array_rand($foo,$winners);
if(is_array($bar)) {
while (list($k,$v)=each($bar)) {
print "$foo[$v]n";
}
}

25 - what a generous prize! Congrats to the winners!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

While I don't see ads, Dave, I do see words underlined twice in blue. Are they Google Adwords? How do I get rid of them? Thanks.

pirl, I don't know. It sounds like a spyware on your computer that might be doing that. We don't do anything that causes that (at least, not that I'm aware of)

North Augusta, ON

Just out of curiosity, how many people took the survey?

Congrats to all of the winners!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thank you, Dave.

We had almost 2,500 people fill out the survey. I had decided ahead of time that I would select one winner for every 100 respondents - thus the 25 winners.

North Augusta, ON

Thanks Dave! Nice turnout that was...

You Tell Us, Anjl!! Wonderful place ya got here, Dave!!

Augusta, GA(Zone 8a)

Dave, are you going to share the results of the survey? Should be interesting.

Farmerdill, that's a good idea. The survey contained a lot of interesting information and I have hardly begun to dive into it. There were some open ended questions like (paraphrasing), "What would you like to add to DG".

Once I get into the data, I believe I'll post the whole list of suggestions so everyone can mull them over. It's likely that there are many ideas that are unimplementable, but that there are recurring themes of requests that we can talk about here and then implement them.

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Maybe if ya do another survey, you could put a would needs to be removed section.

I look at the ads, some I even click on that are interestign to me, but the ones that drive me insane are the one s like the belly fat ones. I feel like I lookign at the all day and all night inframercials ya see on tv and that pop up on some of the other sites.

Now I knwo I need ot lose a few pounds, but that not it, I just like looking at ads, that deal with gardening, or heck even things like cooking equipment or other hobby stuff. Anythign but them to me cheap inframercial ads.

I sure they may brign good money to advertise, but Dave's is about one of the only places you cna come, kick back and the ads are nice , clean , and pleasing. All but that one.

Blyth, ON(Zone 5b)

Wow! Many, many thanks! I never win anything, so this was a very pleasant surprise.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

starlight, I checked your profile--you aren't set up to see any ads. We did have some complaints from the belly fat ad (I never saw it), and we worked with the ad team to have them removed.

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

I don't see ads on al the pages, just all the ads onthe home page. I liek looking at them, usually sometime time s can find good stuff offered . Like tillers and such. and burpees, new ads : )

Thanks, I had notice d I hadn't seen it for a few days and figure d maybe it was just a rotation ad time now.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

If you have ads turned off then you shouldn't be seeing anything unless you're not logged in--do you have it set up so you have to log in every time you come to DG? If you change the cookie settings on your browser then you can stay logged in here permanently and then you shouldn't see any ads.

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Yep, I log in everytime, if I log out from Dg, somtime s I don't then just type www in and hit go too, btu otherwis e I log in evrytime.

Yep I see the ads on when I log in, I like seeign them there. That the only page I see.

Maybe if there other good ads on the other pages, I need to turn mine back on and see what I missing.
