Al's thread, part 3, where the heck are you?

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

The lottery!

Thomaston, CT

I do watch the sugars, but Mom isn't on meds---just can't eat like she wants to---which would match my DH---ice cream, candy, cake, etc. She only has to check her sugar twice a week.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

yup my DH has been eating frozen yogurt for years and he just notice last week lol he has sugar problems to so I get the one for waight watchers no sugar in that one

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I buy a huge tub of Stoneyfields plain lo fat and add my own vanilla and Splenda, sometimes a drop of almond extract.
I use this for fruit and as a topping on jello.
Its really quite versital

Thomaston, CT

Stonyfields is my fav, also---of course, I like chocolate underground the best!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Stoneyfields plain lo fat tastes as creamy as regular.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I can't eat any of those sugar substitutes, even splendid as I get wicked head aches or worse. I just eat the plain yoguts and add cereal, fruit or nuts. I have no trouble with regular sugar or honey. Not a big deal as I don't drink soft drinks. but sometimes I have eaten something at someones house and gotten a bad headache only to find out that I had been served a "diet" something, so I try to ask. I can't taste a difference, but my body does. Patti

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

have you tried using the sugar plant what is it called now you just crush the leaf and add it to coffee or tea my friend uses it can also be bought at the health food store now stevia that what it called

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Stevia? It is REALLY sweet but some people have reactions to it so like all herbs not something to use in any great quantity unless you check with the doc. I too react to artificial sweeteners Patti so I just use sugar and honey. I also use fruit juice in cooking for a sugar. Thankfully (knock on my head) I don't have a problem with sugar.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I just eat everything and no problem but hubby has sugar problems lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Regular sugar - just not too much - for me. In a large mug of coffee I only use a level teaspoon.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

actually I have one coffee per day and use one sweetner lol for some reason I dont like sugar in my coffee hahahhah but love cream in it

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I used to be a sugar in my coffee junkie.... then bad thyroid stuff... couldn't stop the shakes.. quit sugar in my coffee cold turkey... switched to decaf until the smoke cleared.... now I can't stand it in coffee.. just cream for me... funny I used to love flavored stuff too... no more

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

the powder flavored stuff has no sugar in it and still gives the taste

South Hamilton, MA

I do have sugar problem--luckily, I can't stand coffee & tea is fine without it.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I dont do regular tea but like some of the herbal ones

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I will drink both regular and herbal cold and hot... don't need the sugar but once in a while I add it to cold tea

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

love lots of lemon in cold tea like it in the summer make it homemade dont like the store stuff powder is gross but lipton ice tea is ok

South Hamilton, MA

My father in law used to drink 'Constant Comment' when he came home from work. I like 'Earl Gray'.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I am not big on the powered stuff either... but drink that once in a while... but I always water it down

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

earl gray is good stuff

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I like lemon zinger
and also lipton lemon spice tea is good to
I sometimes make pepermint tea from the fresh leaves I get out of the garden since it grows everywhere in the backyard it is used in lemonade to the girls like it

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

i tried the lemon zinger... i thought i was drinking pledge...can't agree with that one

South Hamilton, MA

giggles!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

maybe you made it to strong, sometimes I drink green tea and my friend says its gross but she lets it sit for to long

Thomaston, CT

Plain green tea smells like dirty socks in a locker room! However, I do like the lemongrass variety. Put juice to sweeten my hot tea---don't like anything to sweeten my iced tea---just plenty of fresh lemon---and a little fresh mint, which I yank out of my herb garden every year---it never goes away!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

my coffee maker uses k-cups... the water just flows right through... it wasn't made too strongly.. but I have a personal problem with fake flavors.. snapple with peach for example... love the real taste of peach hate the fake stuff... just me ... but I too like green tea both hot & cold

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Favorite drink is Lipton Green tea w/Honey or Tangerine. I drink at least 2 a day in the winter, more in the summer.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

that one with citrus is really good

If I drink anything other than milk, beer, water It would be a Sobe Orange/Carrot.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I have coffee sometimes, but no sugar, except if it is iced. I love a good cup of tea, but not green so much, especially in the afternoon. I put honey in it if anything. In Iced tea, I like lemon and sugar. DH drinks his coffee black, but drinks his tea with cream. He went to school in England, so I guess that is from living there. I just don't have to have my caffeine every morning, but my DH can not have his. Not pretty if he goes without. Maybe that is my problem....not enough caffeine. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

As much as I love coffee, I could never get into iced.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yuck me either

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Iced coffee is a resent habit of mine, but I like it with not much ice. We put the left over morning coffee in the frig and then I drink it cold with only a couple of ice cubes with 1/3 amount of milk 1/3 iced water and 1/3 coffee and fresh grated nutmeg and spoonful of sugar. So it is more of a coffee flavored drink. Patti

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

patti i might have to try that with the left over coffee - sife does not drink coffee at all - diet pepsi for her - and i usually dump the rest of the pot.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

so no ice caps for you guys it is the best selling drink in summer at tim horton coffee but I prefer my coffee hot with cream doesnt matter how hot outside
that reminds me havent had one yet lol what time is it lol its coffee time

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I love Thai coffee! It is served cold with condensed milk in a tall glass. (Or is that evaporated milk - it is the sweet milk anyway.) Zillions of calories - but how often do I get to go to a Thai restaurant anyway? (The answer is not very often.)

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

has anyone tried the therapy beauty potion tea a friend gave it to me lol she must think I need serious help hahahha

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I just started drinking iced coffee the summer 2007. It has to be DD and it has to have cream with extra sugar. It's like a coffee shake more than anything. lol
